Clarity with your request is beneficial. Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to abundant local wildlife , resident animals , Including domestic and non domestic and our favorite, Wolves. . Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Stuart Little’s Forest Dreamhouse

Stuart Little dreamhouse is a cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. The lake does not have a sandy bottom, so you might want to bring water shoes. We are located about halfway between Bangor and Ellsworth. The Mini is a perfect spot for day trips to the coast. Just a 15 minute ride to Bangor where you will find many local breweries, restaurants, concert venue, theaters, shopping and night life. We are only an hour away from beautiful Mount Desert Island. Our area has abundant small wildlife. We regularly see rabbits, geese, ducks, beaver, eagles, osprey and of course loons. Kayak over to our private island where there are blueberries, and a mating pair of eagles. Paddle over, have lunch, pick some blueberries for your morning cereal, go for a swim. You could also kayak through the thoroughfare to Holbrook Pond. The site is small, just 1 acre and we do live very close by. You will have privacy, but you may hear or see us or our dogs at points during your stay. We will provide a few jugs of water, but you may want to bring some of your own. Salt and Oak Farm

Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Foraging is encouraged as a way to connect to nature. Make your own sumac, sarsaparilla or pine needle tea while enjoying the various fresh berries and mushrooms and a freshly caught and grilled fish. The Cabin of the Woods is close to popular Mid-coast towns like Camden, Rockport and Rockland with all of their amenities while enjoying life in this off-grid all-natural and relaxing setting. A 15 minute drive to Belfast allows you to find great lobster fresh from a lobster pound or pick up a meal and enjoy it while watching the daily life in Belfast Harbor and waterfront or other spots like Searsport Harbor or Sears Island. A beautiful island campground thickly forested with spruce, fir, and birch, Four Acre Woods was created over 60 years ago on Sunshine Island, Maine. Under the name Sunshine Campground, it hosted people from all over the world and delivered the spirit and essence of this ancient, abundant land that so many ancestors had roamed and celebrated before. It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Eventually, the presence and opportunity of the campground caught their attention and after working out the technicalities, they worked together to bring this beautiful land and campground back to the people under its new life and name, Four Acre Woods. Our Ledge campsite is nestled in the woods between our wild blueberry field and our garden and small orchard. There's always something in bloom at the farm; magnolias and orchard blossoms in May, lupine in June, and wildflowers right up until October. There are acres of trails to explore throughout the woods and along the beaver pond and woodland stream as well. While at the campsite you'll enjoy starry nights and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Make your own sumac, sarsaparilla or pine needle tea while enjoying the various fresh berries and mushrooms and a freshly caught and grilled fish. The Cabin of the Woods is close to popular Mid-coast towns like Camden, Rockport and Rockland with all of their amenities while enjoying life in this off-grid all-natural and relaxing setting. A 15 minute drive to Belfast allows you to find great lobster fresh from a lobster pound or pick up a meal and enjoy it while watching the daily life in Belfast Harbor and waterfront or other spots like Searsport Harbor or Sears Island. Round Tuit: Quiet Yurt On A Hill

This little nest is new and mostly complete - meaning, the yurt is gorgeous and finished; the 40x40 deck, well.... we'll get a 'round tuit'! (It's 50% done and totally useable!). The property is located on a hill and feels tucked away and quiet, yet it's only 10 miles from the near-by coastal community of Belfast, and an hour and a half drive to Acadia National Park. Sitting on the deck of Round Tuit Yurt, you'll have your own scenic overlook of a pasture and surrounding hills, so you can sip a cup of coffee and watch the clouds pass overhead or - at twilight - smile as the fireflies dance. It's a quick walk down the hill to a secluded pond and the swimming is delightful, especially once you get out of our shallow bay. This property is shared with a couple of other residents, but your space will be respected and you will feel free to come and go as you please (so long as you go slow on the driveway!). You'll have sole use of the portable toilet which is emptied / cleaned weekly. We ask that you bring your own water, camp-stove and bedding for a queen-sized mattress, as well as a headlamp because it gets dark at night! NO FIRES are allowed at the yurt; all cooking needs to be done outdoors at a picnic table provided for your convenience; and trash is a 'pack-it-in / pack-it-out' arrangement. Well-mannered, well-managed dogs are welcome. Please know there are two other pups on site. If you're looking for simplicity in a natural setting, paired with the comfort of a queen bed and a generous amount of bright and airy space, come visit! Home to abundant local wildlife , resident animals , Including domestic and non domestic and our favorite, Wolves. . Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated.
