Stuart Little’s dream house is an off-grid cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. It has two futons that can turn into double beds, table and chairs, small porch, outhouse, and a picnic bench. Bring your sleeping bag and camp stove, and you are all set! There are also places to pitch a tent, if desired. We are just a mile down the road from where EB White lived, the setting of Stuart Little's dream house (our yard) gives a glimpse into some real Maine living: Boats and boat trailers, a rambling garden, and often a free pile at the end of the driveway. *Note: There is no heat. *Note: There is no kitchen. camp stove + fuel can be rented for $5/night *Note: Please bring a sleeping bag. Otherwise, bedding/linens can be rented at $10/bed. *Hip Camp likes to say we are less than an hour to Acadia National Park, but I feel that is misleading. While we are close-ish, it usually takes over an hour to get to the main visitors center, Hulls Cove. It's usually about 1.5 hours to get to any of the trails/beaches. Tucked among spruce, fir, and birch on Sunshine Island in Deer Isle–Stonington, Four Acre Woods began more than 60 years ago as a small, family-run campground known as Sunshine Campground. Travelers from across the world visited this quiet island forest, drawn to its raw beauty and the peaceful energy that generations before us had loved and cared for. The campground eventually closed in the 1990s and sat untouched for over 15 years—its trails, clearings, and old campsites slowly reclaimed by the woods. The land waited, quietly, for someone to bring it back to life. In the years that followed, Caleb, a longtime local operator on the island, took interest in the property. Recognizing both its history and its potential to offer people a deeper experience of Deer Isle’s natural beauty, he began the process of carefully restoring and reopening the land. Working season by season, Caleb rebuilt the sites, added new infrastructure, re-established utilities, and designed a campground that honors the land’s roots while offering a comfortable, modern, and nature-forward experience for today’s guests. In July 2020, the property reopened under a new name: Four Acre Woods. Today, it blends the spirit of the original Sunshine Campground with thoughtful stewardship, simple comforts, and a deep respect for the forest that surrounds it. Visitors once again gather under the birches and spruces—sharing campfires, slow mornings, quiet nights, and the timeless island calm that makes this land so special. So— Welcome Home. Sincerely, The Caretakers of Four Acre Woods

Pajaritaflora artist property, bordering Midcoast and Downeast Maine, is an easy place to come to. This property is an excellent location near Acadia National Park, Blue Hill, Bangor, and Belfast Maine. It is on RTE 1. The lot is a large, grass, pull-through location. Please read the description carefully. The location is on the corner of RTE 1 and Powers Drive Lane. To enter, turn onto Powers Drive and take a sharp left into the first driveway and onto the grass back toward rte 1. Park parallel with Powers Drive Lane near the big oaks. Pajaritaflora Artist Studio/Gallery is located here. I am an artist. Welcome to my studio property. There is a long spacious spot for most sizes RV. It has level grass for you to park on. There is a group fire pit area on the grounds for everyone. Many people do not need electricity these days. So I have lowered the price of the spot. It is without electricity. You can add it on if you wish at $20 per night. You will need a long extension, and it is 20 amps. please request electric prior to visit. I have water for your holding tank. it is clean from my well and brought to you via garden hose. Sorry, no sewer. This is an excellent spot for a short stay. It is good if you need to be here a couple of days prior to your campground stay! I have been enjoying hosting campers here for the past two seasons. I can't wait to meet you! This is my fourth season here.

Experience the charm of our modest farm nestled on an 88-acre forest, complete with a babbling brook and lake access. Located just 45 minutes from Acadia National Park, and in close proximity to less-frequented public trail networks (such as the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, right next to our property), our site offers a serene retreat far away from everything and everyone! Indulge in activities like fishing (ensure you have the proper licenses, as Fish and Game Wardens monitor the area), kayaking/canoeing, and swimming from our private lake dock. Although our sites are off-grid without running water, we provide access to composting toilets and potable water. Embrace the quintessential Maine vibes at our campsite, situated along Gott Brook, offering convenient access to the lake via the main campsite road.
