Our shared love for Celtic folk culture has blended naturally with our love of sustainable agriculture to create Tir na nOg Farm. Today, the work of restoration continues with the help of farm partners, family, friends, WWOOFers, and other volunteers. Get your "groove" on or hang loose here on a precious little island with a big bridge just off route one in the heart of Midcoast. Hundreds of guests report the perfect balance of upbeat fun and chill time and call our place and hospitality "magic", "amazing" and "holy guacamole!" It is a lovely spot just off the beaten path but close enough to access the frey. :)
I welcome my guests personally and have likely had a chat before you booked. I like to know what your hopes and priorities are around your stay before I accept so I can meet both of our needs. When you arrive, I will greet you and share a little history/tour of the place. I accept travelers between 4 and 9 pm but like all of us schedules fluctuate and we can roll some. There's a strong chance on an average Maine clear summer evening, I have the campfire going and the solar lights around the yard are charged for their evening gentle show.
All of the spaces I rent are bedrooms only. You walk a few steps/yards to my 5 bedroom home and access two showers and some kitchen use. I also have an outdoor shower and outdoor kitchen that is cute and for your use. It's fun to cook on the fire too! I prefer folks to limit cooking esp in hot weather but support healthier eating and may share some of my foraging tips. The rooms are equipped with plenty of linens and fan power. You will be cozy either way the temps go.
There is a lovely porch on the log home where you can sit and enjoy the sunset and lots of wildlife activity. The back yard has tether ball and lots of seating as well as the good sized fire pit with ghosts of hundreds of fireside chats gone by. I look forward to ours!
Next door there is a gravel road on a lightly traveled road for your walking or biking pleasure. I am happy to join you in a hilly roller coaster cycling experience and have a few bikes to offer up. I am a WWOOF host and have occasional "helpers" and you are welcome to explore my veggie and flower gardens.
This host loves board games and crafts so is often ready to share either or both with guests. There are 150 acres around me that are wooded and pathed so your pup will love it too. Reach out soon and let's chat about your vacation and visit here. I look forward to hearing from you.

A very sweet and rustic Hemlock cabin, along with secluded 17' and 14" bell tents, plus 2 private campsites sit along beautiful Webb Brook. Walk through the large open field, away from everything, to this storybook setting. All you can hear is the waters of the brook rushing and sounds of nature all around. Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for stargazing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house.
In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. No electricity, no plumbing, no wifi. Good cell service. Composting toilet and water tank for use inside cabin. Gas grill and firepit with tripod grate outside for cooking options. Family owned property obtained through the barter system. You shingle my barn and I'll give you that property. My Pappy's land. 11 acres. Recently cleared for its timber. With some landscaping it became clear that beautiful campsites were forming. My father is 78 years old. The last thing he ever thought he would be doing with his retirement is jumping back on his excavator. Can't keep a good man down. Now here we are. Father and daughter. One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season.
2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a toilet.
Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any.
2024 was another great season. New faces that I hope to see again. The summer weather was great for camping. A large Bell Tent and a small portable camper was purchased for those who are seeking more of a glamping experience.
WELCOME BACK for 2026...
2025 had some complications unfortunately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to invite anyone to my property. Consider yourself invited for the 2026 season. The Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary was generously bequeathed to the Kennebec Land Trust in November 2016 upon owner Kendra Wakefield Shaw’s passing. Its 108-acres feature historic cabins and 4000 feet of frontage on Cobbossee Stream in West Gardiner. The property’s coniferous and deciduous woods, vernal pools, and marshlands are important habitat for many species of birds, mammals, and plants.
In 2018, the Maine Cabin Masters renovated two of the stream-side cabins, which now serve as rustic getaways for Hipcampers and the like.
A small dock and canoes are available for use on the wide and deep flatwater stream!
*NEW 2024 - A dock has been added to cabin 2, so each cabin now has it's own private dock.

When you think the road ends keep driving a short distance and you will start seeing signs. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles.
We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake.
We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure.
There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain right from your site. Here is a link for all Greater Lovell Land trust trails: https://www.gllt.org/five-kezars-reserve
Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles ( a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Very private. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs.
Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Only an 8 minute drive
Keoka lake has a nice beach with a dock to swim too. !0 minute drive

This is a quaint, off grid cabin located in Elliotsville, Me., surrounded by wilderness, next to the Appalachian Trail in the 100 Mile Wilderness. Firewood and propane and plenty of water at sink provided. 2 8ft kayaks for your use to explore all the ponds and lakes nearby. You can spend days or weeks exploring the area, hiking, biking, canoeing, mountain climbing and swimming. Its like going back in time a hundred years but you have some cell reception, unlike our ancestors. Have made several improvements to cabin not yet reflected in guest photos. Yeti type cooler provided for refrigeration of food for longer stays. The cabin is small but can accommodate 5 easily. Queen bed with bunk beds in 1st floor bedroom, full size and twin bed in upstairs bedroom. Clean linens provided. Open kitchen and living room. Seems like most people love it. Pretty sure you will too. So much to do in the area. Be as bored or as active as you want. Welcome book with directions to local spots all very close. Waterfalls, the most beautiful lake (Onawa), swimming holes... all close by. Appalachian trail out back. Other sites close by must be driven to but close by still, away from town. It started years ago my sister and I stayed in a yurt at a campground in Oregon. That was it. I was hooked so I got one. There is something magical about staying in a round structure in the trees. My love of nature and comfort drove me to create this special place to be able to share it with others.
My TreeYurt is a platform built high in the trees so it essentially like a treehouse but with a yurt instead. It is located in the back part of my property surrounded by woods. In the spring there is a small stream running nearby. The land is somewhat sloped yet comfortable.
There are apple orchards nearby and many hiking trails a short distance away as well as Portland a mere 15 minutes.
The kitchenette has a small fridge a toaster oven a coffee maker a cook top with two burners pots pans utensils plates and bowls and kitchen towels as well a propane grill outside.
There is a wood stove for heating in the winter as well as a monitor heater that makes it very cozy for chilly nights. The yurt is insulated so it is a great year round glamping (glorified camping) adventure. I provide fire some wood for the wood stove inside but the camp fire wood for the outdoor fire pit is $8 per bundle.
The outhouse has a dry flush toilet and instructions at located in the yurt and out house. There is seasonal running hot and cold water (May through October) for the outdoor sink which is available for use for dishwashing and a bit of cleaning up. Also an outdoor shower is available for use May through October and biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. I provide gallons of drinking water and dishwashing water for the colder months inside the yurt with dish tubs sponges and soap.

Amy’s Treeyurt was so special! We had a fantastic cozy getaway and absolutely loved the wood stove and fire pit outside. The space was clean and cozy and had everything you could need! This was especially nice because there wasn’t much packing involved on our end in able to cook and enjoy meals. The outhouse was also very clean! There are plenty of trails nearby that were easy to find and we ended up brewery hopping as well and were no more than 15 mins from the yurt at any time. This is definitely the perfect spot for winter/spring glamping! We are hoping to visit in the summer! Thank you, Amy!

The 20-foot diameter yurt was spacious; we had plenty of room to set up our camp kitchen inside. The yurt was well-lit with electric lights, and the hand-pumped water source was close. Cliff is a great host, providing detailed information and checking for any special requirements in advance and stopping by at the beginning of our visit to answer questions.

Weekend Trip to Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites
This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin
This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

Weekend Trip to The Land Kindred
We had an amazing girls trip night in the yurt! Nicole was so helpful and responsive and the property was stunning. We met 2 of their super friendly dogs, one of whom accompanied us on a walk down to the brook! The yurt was incredibly cozy and we were lucky enough to get to see the first snow that night. We look forward to returning to the yurt again sometime!

This was such an amazing find! They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. We were only able to spend a weekend here but plan to come back for a bit longer in the spring! This was the perfect place to get fresh air and spend time outside without committing to the full camping setup. I highly recommend visiting :)
