Sunflower Ranch is the name of our home and property.
Not only is our cozy, modest house sunflower yellow but in August it is surrounded with sunflowers of all sizes.
We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters.
Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house.
We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is
in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans.
The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time)
which has clear water and a
sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming.
I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request.

You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the house and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The cabin is furnished with a full sized bed, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.
A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor.
The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sunsets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals though we will provide ample space to respect your privacy.
A small gas grill and cooler can be provided.
Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Weekend Trip to Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites
This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp.
A few things to note:
Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin.
There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded.
Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me.
The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice.
The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance.
Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

We had the most amazing experience here and I already can’t wait to plan our next visit to really just enjoy the site more! But it was absolutely STUNNING, the views were beautiful and so much care was put into every part of the site. I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience on my first solo trip with my pup! This was a great spot that has everything you could need. The prep table was great. Toilet situation was ok but knew that going in. Make sure to bring lanterns as the walk to the outhouse in the night is rocky. There was plenty of room to spread out and my dog loved exploring.

Great place right near Acadia & Bar Harbor (as well as numerous other places with less foot traffic). The downtown area of Ellsworth has cute shops, great food, and everything you'd need and is about a 15-20minute drive right from the camp site.
The site is secluded & spacious but has everything you'd need in order to stay comfortable on a camping trip.
I loved bringing my dog because he had ample space to explore. The hosts were very communicative!

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond
I don’t think there’s anything that could have made my stay here any better. It was exactly what I was looking for- pond is beautiful and close, the cabin was clean, the whole stay was very quiet and felt secluded despite being really close to Belfast. There were more supplies than I expected too- I’m used to dispersed camping where I have to bring everything and was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtfully supplied it is. The host was wicked helpful, responsive, and friendly too, plus gave me helpful tips on hiking in the area. Bonus: saw lots of wildlife from the cabin and at the pond :) I’m jealous of how awesome the setup is, I’m going to just have to book it again in the future!

This campsite is really special- the property is absolutely beautiful, the tent and everything provided made our stay comfortable, and the lake is sooo peaceful. We loved spending two nights here with our dogs and using it as a jumping off point to explore Acadia. Tabatha was also extremely communicative and helpful! Their property is huge, and we didn’t encounter anyone else during our stay. The brook was dried up since there’s been such a drought, so I can’t even imagine how much more awesome it would’ve been if we had that for our dogs to play in right at the site!

It was a very private sight. The canvas tent is back in the trees, private and secluded. The open blueberry field out front of the tent was great for stargazing!

The cabin was cozy and when candlelit, even more so...loved the solar lights clearly marking the paths at night. Great place to hang your hat for a few days!

I want to start by saying what a great host Bob is...so very nice and got back to me right away with any questions we had and also reached out with any additional info we may want or need. My husband and I and our two Golden's wanted a well-deserved getaway which was private, secluded and "out in the woods" which we love and also access to water. Bob's place was exactly that. We spent our 4 days at the pond as it was in the 90s. The pond was just wonderful...large shaded area and such a great breeze everyday. We were in the water a lot and used the provided kayak to paddle around and great fishing there as well. Water was low this time of year and rocky bottom but we had our water shoes. Our golden's had the time of their life exploring the woods and trails (if they were not in the water which was a lot!) We did not see another person, extremely private. We look forward to going back again sometime for another little getaway.

2 nights at Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites
Tent sites are well spaced, and the Graham Cracker Cabin is in the center of it all. Paths in the field are well mowed and the cabin was clean and open when I arrived.
The cabin does get quite warm during the day so leaving the doors open was a big help to get a breeze going through. At night there was enough of a cross breeze down in the main room to make sleeping comfortable. The loft was too warm for sleeping in August.
Mornings were lovely and quiet, and I snuck a small bowl of blueberries from the low bushes along the path to go with breakfast.
Overall a lovely location that gets quiet at night so you can hear the chorus of frogs in the brook.
