We needed a place to spend the day enjoying the outdoors with family and Hughes Holler was perfect! We spent the day kayaking, fishing and relaxing by a campfire. Gina was a great hostess and made sure we had everything we needed! The property is beautiful and pond is great! It was nice that it was close to the bait shop so we could grab a couple things we forgot. We will definitely be back!

Awesome spot for a trip to the Flint Hills. Was in town for a gravel race and this was the perfect spot to stay. Right on the Flint Hill Trail and access to tons of gravel riding from camp. The hosts, Amy and Darius, are great, super welcoming and very communicative. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you both!!!

Space was in great shape. Everything had greened up nicely. The new shower location is a big improvement and all the facilities were well maintained as usual.

Manicured, well kept campsites. Clean toilet and shower. The property has a fantastic layout for tents, trailers, rvs & hammocks. The kitchen and picnic area is topnotch. Basecamp Flint Hills is obviously loved by the amazing hosts.

I enjoyed my stay at BCFH during Flint Hills Gravel. It was great to have a Basecamp to return to (with excellent al fresco shower) after 127 miles of open roads and wind. Good folks to share a hang with after and Amy & Darius are great hosts.

The sleep shack was amazing!! After a long day on the bike it was nice to be able to sleep on a bed instead of an air mattress in a tent. Was nice and roomy and the fan gave us plenty of air movement since it wasn’t hot outside yet. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a great stop on the Flint Hills recreation trail. It was nice to be able to have electric and water hookups. Is just a great way to camp!

1 night at Hughes Holler

Gina's land was a clean, safe, quiet and relaxing place. I stayed at Gigi's Escape and it was so sweet! There was an outdoor shower and toilet as well as a little fire pit which all worked out great. To have electricity you have to run a generator so I only started the generator in the morning to have coffee. It's very secluded and private. I saw a lot of deer in the evening. The shelter is very well stocked with pretty much everything you might need!

I love Basecamp Flint Hills and the Sleeping Shack makes this place even better! This is my favorite place to stay in the Flint Hills Trail and would recommend it to everyone. I will be back!

Excellent. Clean, orderly, quiet, and everything is as advertised.

I enjoyed my 2 night stay. It was quiet and the people were friendly. Amy was excellent in providing very important trail information. They were burning so she alerted me that it was recommended to stay off the trail to the west. Great communication. Booking was extremely easy, once I got to the campground and used the QR code.

Weekend Trip to Eric M.’s Land

Great site for primitive campers. Secluded location, quiet, remote. It had new water lines and a make shift outdoor shower house and an outhouse. Had it been warmer I would have used the shower.

We had such a wonderful time staying at Eric's land. It was secluded and peaceful, just like we were looking for. We wished we could have stayed longer enjoying the calm of mother nature around us, disconnected from everything. Eric was extremely helpful in providing directions and ensuring that our camping spot was secluded. Eric's land is a perfect place to camp and enjoy the beautiful serene surroundings.

2 nights at Basecamp Flint Hills

I chose this place because it looked like a quiet and safe area to spend the night while I was solo traveling with my dog from Colorado to Missouri. We got in later around 10pm, spent the night in our 18ft RV, did a little nature walk in the morning, and then headed out at 9am. It was everything we needed. We went in November/off-season so we had the whole place to ourselves. I'd recommend and would visit in the future again.

What a great place! We loved our overnight here, but this place would have been great for a longer stay. Super clean and safe. Laundry facilities were really good. They were coin operated and the store that is on-site will sale you quarters. Great stay!!!

BFH is 20 miles north of the world capital of gravel cycling, Emporia KS, and 20 miles east of historical Council Grove. BFH has hammock trees and shaded acreage for tent camping, a no-frills bunkhouse, and two back-in camper sites for those who prefer a bit more luxury. This is a community style campground where picnic tables and campfires will be shared with your neighbors. We encourage you to expand your circle and enjoy the experience! Seasonal facilities include an open air, cold water shower and port-a-potty available April through October. The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas. The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area. While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain. The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by. The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass. Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site. But please release any others back into the pond. There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind. Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees. Sleeping accommodations are in a deluxe water proof tent. There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people. There is also a composting toilet on site. Glamping Hosts provide some hot drink mixes, a coffee perculator, pot for boiling water, or making soup, a cooking grate for the fire, some hygiene products. We are working on a solar shower! We are located 2 miles from the Kanopolis Lake wildlife and recreation area. Which includes numerous hiking trails at Horse Thief canyon. As well as 7 miles from historic Marquette with its unique downtown shops and activities: distillery, motorcycle museum, soda fountain shop/homemade ice cream, disc golf course, grocery store, bar and grill and liquor store. Also, located just 15 miles from Little Swedon, Lindsborg, KS. Great shopping and museums, art galleries for you enjoyment!

We also have roughly 3 miles of wooded trails for you to explore. There is a playground for the kids to play on, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball pit. This is very camp at the lake style. Bedding is not included for camp bunk beds. Cabins do not have restrooms built in, but we have shower houses on site for you to use. They do have electricity, heat, and air conditioning.
