Come explore this incredible piece of Cold War History as you will get a tour of the underground Atlas F Missile Base!This is the site of a decommissioned Atlas F Missile Silo which was abandoned by the Air Force in the 60's.   You can book separate from camping a historical tour of the Missile Base property and the underground Launch Control Center with a tunnel that leads to the 176 ft. deep Missile Silo.(This is a construction zone, as the bunker is being renovated into an underground home. Be prepared to sign liability waivers.) Located in the Smoky Hills of Kansas, you will be camping in beautiful fields with great views of a 250 MW windfarm. Hike over a mile of trails on the property and pick out your own camp spot. Join other guests at the top of the Missile Silo for a campfire at night and enjoy stargazing. Just mins away from the local tavern and restaurants in Wilson & a Brewery in the small town of Sylvan Grove. Nearby is Lake Wilson, one of the largest and cleanest lakes in the State, there are water sports and Epic rated mountain biking trails.

Matthew was a wonderful host and excellent tour guide. His passion for the history of his property is infectious. After spending the night and attending the tour (highly recommend), I went straight to Wikipedia to learn more. He has big plans for his property. I’ll definitely be visiting again the next time I’m out this way.

It's hot outside
It was cool. The fire pit was a good night activity. The silo itself was really cool but it felt felt kinda short.... but I had a great time and Mat was a great host.

Missile Silo Adventure Camping
The place was so relaxing and peaceful. I got to see both the moon and the sun rise from there. It was shady and private. Matthew was very professional and knowledgeable about the property. I enjoyed the tour and the communal fire but what I appreciated the most was the radio silence. I enjoy nature sounds. Def would stay again. I mark this place solo female safe.

The Missile silo tour was amazing and the property was beautiful. There is only a composting toilet, so very primitive. Don’t forget your hand sanitizer.
