I went past the driveway the first time and then doubled back, kate's three pink flamingos next to her mailbox helped me locate it right away. Kate was warm and welcoming and I got to actually feed her goats! Her three dogs were very lovable and curious upon my arrival. The hip camp spot had a nice view of the back 40 and the pond beyond it. Enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend if you're in the Kansas City area.

My tent at night. Dave has a charging and light station set up under the tiki hut - I also liked it for the increased protection from ground moisture. This was one of the driest spots!

We showed up with 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 12, and he pulled no stops entertaining them, including walking his horse down to our campsite for the kids to pet. Our third visit to Blackthorn and we love it more every time. Camping areas are spread out amongst the woods, and it’s really lovely in cool fall weather! We had a very windy weekend, but our site was nicely blocked from it, so we could just enjoy the sounds from the blowing trees. Great visit!

This place is phenomenal for all ages!! The horses, donkey and pup were so sweet and we absolutely loved them greeting us. We saw a cow run right past us on the land, which is beyond beautiful and so joyful to walk around. Our dogs had such a blast running. Great place to stay and be away from it all. We had site #10 Wanda's place for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Water and Electric at the site and tons of room. The Campsites are extremely far apart and we could not see anyone at all from our site. Friendly owner/host Chad & Cynthia. Lots of walking trails, wildlife, great views. We will be back. FYI: T Mobile is almost non existant but with our starlink we had full internet and wifil calling worked great.
