Humboldt, KS was listed in the '2022 NYT 52 Places for a Changed World' because of the work of A Bolder Humboldt. ABH developed BaseCamp and is feverishly working to breathe life into our downtown square. You will find a coffee shop, candy store, a Bruncherie, microbrewery and nightlife. We are grateful for your support of our efforts through your visit to Humboldt. Base Camp is a 21 acre modern glampground + RV Park, trailhead, and bike park located in Humboldt. We have beautiful tiny home cabins, mini A-frames and full service pull-through RV hookups. Located in Humboldt, KS at the trailhead to the Southwind rails-to- trails. Base Camp features a quarry pond for fishing and small watercrafts, large open fields for recreation and a bike skills course perfect for beginners and seasoned riders alike. Currently, we do not offer tent camping - coming soon! Our RV spots are located in our paved parking lot. Each rental includes water, 30 and 50 amp electric and sewer hookups.

Your stay includes access to all of our amenities: -Basecamp quarry pond where you can fish and use any of our kayaks and canoes. -Bicycles. Borrow any of our bikes located in the communal Bike Barn. Enjoy a ride on the 60 mile South Wind Trail or ride into town to explore more of Humboldt. We also have a bike skills course located at the front of the property perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike. (Bicycles are available on a first come first serve basis and are shared between all of our guests). Things to know: -Picnic tables, grills, fire pits and hammocks are located all throughout the property for your convenience. -Shower House and Restrooms are located on the backside of the property connected via a gravel path from the parking lot. Heads up - it's a decent walk from the RV hooks ups.

Third time to stay here and, once again, I was very pleased with the accommodations. Very clean place with everything I needed. Very close to downtown Humboldt, too.

We used the trailer camp sites. The sites were concrete and level. Easy access and easy pull thru and back-in sites. Site are full service. I would personally like more green space at the sites, but the overall campground has plenty of green area, a small lake, and the Bike Barn. The campground also has small, well equipped cabins and basic campsites.

What an awesome place! We camped for 2 nights with full hook-ups. We were able to explore the property including the nearby bike trail. Having access to the bike barn lame in handy due to a flat. Beautiful property and we'll be back!

Base Camp was an awesome place to camp with the family. We enjoyed canoeing in the lake and utilizing the bike barn. Great access to shops and restaurants in spunky Humboldt Ks and the beautiful rail trail.

Beautiful property! Nice to have water and electric hookups. Bathrooms and shower were very clean with hot water. Mostly quiet and there was a little bit of road noise, but very quiet at night and in the morning. Nice paths around property to walk. Wish we had bikes with or if they were available to use or rent at BaseCamp would be nice. We would definitely return again.

Perfect place to stay for a weekend of cycling. Clean shower houses and property. Bike park was very fun and the host was helpful. Beautiful property within a short bike ride to the cute downtown Humboldt.

We had a great experience at Basecamp - location was excellent - a short bike ride to downtown Humboldt led to an amazing coffee shop, super fun restaurants, and great times for our family. We used one of the RV spots and it was nice and level with all the hookups we needed. The bathroom and shower facilities were phenomenal - in the words of my 10yo son “this shower is amazing - the tile is so nice!” Plus the on site mountain bike skills park kept my kids entertained for hours-across 3 days! We will definitely be back!

Quiet, private camp spot

It was quiet and peaceful. We had an RV site and there was room for the car and RV next to each other,! We could walk to Humboldt from our site as well as THE SOUTH WIND TRAIL. Jon was around to tell us about the property and it's history. It's a beautiful place and we enjoyed our 5 nights there very much.

I was really surprised by how nice and clean this camp was. Jon wrote a nice note to me telliing me what to expect. (that has never happened before). The pull throughs were perfect for our motor home. There are walkig trails and a pond on which you can canoe or kayak. The barn has a nice game room and a room where you can take bike' out. There were picnic tables by the pond and a wagon which you could use to take supplies from your car to the picnic area. I would definitely recommend this place.

Perfect Getaway in Rural Kansas

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Base Camp Humboldt. We didn’t stay in the cabins, rather we took our travel trailer down. The site was paved, large, spacious, clean. The property was immaculate. We didn’t have an opportunity to use the kayaks/canoes, but I would love to on a return visit. There was a little highway noise, but it wasn’t intrusive. The night skies were nice and dark for viewing the stars and constellations. Our main purpose for the visit was to do some biking on the local rails to trails. Base Camp Humboldt is right at the trailhead of the South Wind trail- which then connects to Prairie Spirit in Iola. We were also able to visit the town on our bikes (very bike friendly). The town had some amazing establishments for dining and libations as well as beautiful outdoor recreation spaces. They are truly breathing life back into this town with their initiatives of creating “A Bolder Humboldt.” I am already planning a return visit. I fully recommend Base Camp Humboldt- they have so many amenities- many of which we didn’t have a chance to use. It was such an amazing little weekend getaway for myself and my husband. We can’t wait to go back.

I found BaseCamp on a whim. This weekend was my first time in an RV and I needed a place close to KC to try one out! BaseCamp was perfect. Very nicely laid out property. Very clean and quiet. I’m just sorry I didn’t bring my bike to take advantage of the trails with. I’ll be telling my cycling friends in KC all about this place.

I have stayed here with our small camper twice. It is the perfect getaway spot for a weekend if you live in kansas. The place is kept up, it’s modern and has lots of fun things to do, even borrow a bike!

Base Camp had long pull thru sites mostly level. The trails around the campground are beautiful and it’s fun to canoe on the small lake. There is dirt bike trail that looked fun but we did not use.

Set out on a road trip with no destination, did a quick search and found this place. A true delight and safe place to stay the night. We stopped in town for a nice show at the Hitching Post and spent the evening sitting under the stars. This place is top notch quality , very clean, very modern, amazing bathrooms and showers and the host is so very friendly . Will be back.

Excellent facilities including level, new concrete RV sites with new full hook ups, a cool bike barn communal space, super nice bathroom/showers, a bike skills park and right on a rails to trails trailhead that can take you many miles to other towns and a park with mountain bike trails. Humboldt itself is a very cute downtown with a nice coffee shop, lunch spot and shops. We were able to catch up on laundry in the nearby town of Iola, 10 minutes away. Jon is very friendly and accommodating, a pleasure to speak with about all things Humboldt. Will definitely recommend to others and will return again.

Base camp is very welcoming and has something for everyone! Quaint and isolated cabins for visitors, as well as clean and convenient access to full hook up RV sites. We stayed a few nights with our RV and commented how well done things are at Base Camp. Lots to do to keep yourself occupied, we will for SURE be back!

very clean and well kept. RV site was very nice - hookups were very accessible and in good condition. the amenities were very cool. nice quite walking paths - very cool bike trails and there are some nice places to eat in town. we will be back.

This was a gem of a place. 21 beautifully maintained acres including trees, open space and a pond with water craft for your use. The bath house and bike barn were amazing. Loved the hammocks!! Jon was an excellent host. We will be telling all our friends about Base Camp and the town of Humboldt.
