Weekend Trip to Equine Estates Rustic Horse Ranch

Steve was great. He showed me around the site and gave me info in his hiking trails, restaurants and more. The site is beautiful and is located right by a field where he keeps his horses. The bed was super comfy. If you go in summer be ready for lots of mosquitoes and bring tick repellent if you plan to hike on his property. I’d definitely go back.

Our stay was fantastic. The Fisherman's Cove site we were at had a really great view over the water. The host was welcoming and gave us a tour when we arrived and told us about all the animals and other property information and some history. There was plenty of space on the property, and the laid back slow paced vibe was excellent. And we were close enough to town to run in and get a few things we needed for the weekend. The only downside is it's near railroad tracks. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you're particularly sensitive to sound, you might not enjoy the trains.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Basecamp Flint Hills. This was our second time visiting for the Unbound Gravel race and it's the perfect location! Amy and Darius are friendly, helpful and make everyone feel welcome. The land is beautiful, with a Kansas horizon that seems to stretch on forever. We loved gathering around the communal campfire and chatting with other campers. It’s such a special place. We’ll definitely be back!

Amy and Doug were wonderful hosts and the property was perfect for what we needed. We brought a teardrop trailer and boondocked for a long weekend. The location was halfway between Emporia and the Unbound pitstop. Everyone staying was a biker or biker support and the sense of community was lovely. We have never stayed in a campground that was so quiet by 9 at night! We will definitely be back.
