The secluded campsite is situated on a high point on Pilot Knob that overlooks the entire valley with 180 degree views to the South, West and North. The tent site is a flat 20'x20' spot next to a Birch tree, fire ring and table; plenty of room for two tents and a car or two. In the foreground is a natural field with small Cedar trees, Scrub Oak, Sumac and prairie grasses where deer often eat and bed. The site is situated on about 25 acres - plenty of space to take a walk through the fields. Further out are natural woods, and in the distance is the entire Mississippi River valley South to Bellevue, IA and North of Dubuque, IA. Sunsets are absolutely breathtaking from this vantage point.

The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. We bought the farmette with much work outside and home interior remodel to complete. We slowly turned the property into our family oasis. We neighbor a pasture with cows. There are free range chickens running around during the day. Geese greet us every evening and morning at the pond...as do the many bullfrogs. Occasionally you'll hear the coyotes, but they keep their distance. The stars shine peacefully and the sunsets are picturesque (most afternoons). The pond is a great place to swim and fish. The hillside is a nice walk for exercise or take the easier route and sit under the great oak tree in the other pasture. Campsites are off the road, behind our main home. You won't find a sign...we keep it simple.
We allow pets at the sites for a $5 per pet/per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed on the Extra during the booking process.
We have firewood available for sale, $5.55/bundle. This is located in the Extra section during the booking process.

We are creating a gravel trek around the sites with two entrances and gravel parking planned be completed by 2028. We are working on flushable outhouses and possible showers. Children’s play area by 2027. There isn’t any swimming or fishing available on the farm property. There is a private lake three miles from the sites - see details under extras.
We are located ten miles from the Wisconsin border and villages with their unique shops and museums. 20 minutes from Galena, 45 minutes from the Mississippi River and Dubuque. Iowa. Three hours from Chicago. DNR - department of natural resources have properties a mile north of the farm with nice trails to walk near the Apple river, which is stocked twice a year for fishing tournaments. As well as the Boy Scout campgrounds located nearby. Locals have caught crayfish and swam in the Apple river, we are unfamiliar with current spots. People have tubed and canoed down the Apple river. There are numerous state parks within driving distance for hiking, sight seeing, eagle watching etc. Immerse yourself in the vast history of the area. Again we encourage you to come rest relax and recharge in this peaceful spot.

You will be sleeping beneath the stars; which are never ending when the lighting bugs are around. The smell of fresh cut grass envelopes you and the soothing melody of running waters surrounding you. Once in a while if you are really patient and quite you can see wild animals like deer, turkey, coyotes, and maybe a fox or two. One of the few signs of people will be an occasional car passing on the gravel road. There is so much to say about this but I'll try to keep it consise.
This campsite was amazing. Very freeing and safe! Everything included was perfect. Beautiful cow pasture view from the outdoor shower, clean outhouse, no mosquitos (just flies), and an amazing view/access to the river.
Scott is so down to Earth and made me and my friends feel so comfortable. He was very attentive to us and made sure we felt safe.
If you are down with the nudist lifestyle, this campsite is the place for you! So worth the drive!

I camped at prairie meadow campsite this weekend. It is A great spot.there is shade and sunshine in this site for sunbathers and shade to cool down. Get to watch for deer , birds and cows with calves. The calves were fun to watch playing and running around the pasture. Also got to see 3 deer in the field and a blue heron fly over. Also got to see a Bald eagle pass over the timber.

We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. I cannot recall a more perfect and serene camping experience. The host’s attentiveness was on point. The location is magical. Stars, fireflies, private - right on Yellow River. We were able to tube for hours right from the location to a drop point 2 miles away with gorgeous scenery every where you looked. Could not recommend more. We will definitely be back.

Bob and Z are fantastic hosts! My brothers, sister and sister in law all went camping on their property for our little sisters wedding that was nearby. This is our second time camping here and the single best camping location we have ever had, all of us agreed. We couldnt wish for anything more from them or the campsite. Always beautiful and its always amazing. Such welcoming people. Everything about the place feels safe and full of good energy. After the wedding we now have inlaws in iowa so we will be back and choose Bobs to camp at every single time. We had everything we needed to smoothly enjoy our camping experience and were fully prepared for the wedding. Thank you again Bob and Z and we will be back again and thank you for being so warm and welcoming people!

It was very magical here and we only wish we had a little more time to explore and get to know Bob and Xene more. Very kind and welcoming people who have crafted a wonderfully creative and peaceful oasis in this corner of the world. I was worried that the highway sounds might keep me up but the sounds of the crickets at night lulled me right to sleep. Would recommend!

Wow! I had the best time at Neverland. This was my first hipcamp experience and I am soaring with gratitude for my time spent here. The land and people are a breath of fresh air for any visitor needing a reminder of peace on earth!
I came on a solo birthday trip and was welcomed with exceptional hospitality and warmth from the hosts. I left absolutely touched by the space and am counting the days til I can return to dance with this community again!
My advice it to come with an open heart, explore the property and connect with the folks who steward the land! You might just learn something new! In gratitude alwaYs!

First of all, the absolute eye-candy of this entire ranch is amazing! So much to look at, it's absolutey incredible and inspiring. Second, Robert and Xene were such warm and friendly hosts. We were supposed to camp, but due to heavy weather, they offered us a bed indoors, in one of their fantastic rustic barns. It was such a cool, eclectic space. Very bummed we had to head out the next morning, we would have loved to stay longer!! Will absolutely try to come back!!!

We spent 4 nights in Site RV-5 which had a lot of shade and a beautiful view of the Pecatonica River. Showers and bathrooms were very clean. The campsite is walking distance to town, though we really didn't visit many businesses except the grocery store (walking distance)! The campground, town and rail trail are taken over by ATV'ers on summer weekends, bicyclists beware!
Only complaint was the sound from the racetrack on Friday night drove us indoors. But that was countered by the clippity-clop of an Amish buggy driving by one morning. Would definitely come stay here again.

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
We stayed in the Cabin, and, after being helped to settle in and given the tour, spent 2 days in the most pleasant and relaxing setting I've seen in years! Scott was very accomodating, and the property is very well maintained.
Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes weren’t awful, until after a brief rain when the wind died, at which point we had to retreat to the cabin to avoid being ravenously dined on 😅
9/10, if you like nature, camping, don't mind the lack of powered sites, and aren'tparticularly shy, then head to JT Ridges, you won't regret it!

This was our first Hipcamp stay, and I am not sure how any other spot will live up to this. Bob and Xene were lovely hosts, and our campsite was shaded and so quiet. We would love to come back and stay for more than one night.
