ABOUT THE BARNYARD:
n*Everland Barnyard is an eccentric art installation space created from found, recycled, and repurposed building materials in the heart of Grant Wood Country in Jones County, Iowa. We are not a commercial campground. We focus on Zen, mindfulness, peace, and tranquility. Firmly in the realm of Outsider Art, Gothic and rustic, Bob Kellogg has created a place unlike anywhere else in the world that represents freedom and inspires endless creativity. The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within a 1-mile walking distance from your campsite.

There is a beautiful spring-fed water hole ideal for swimming in the state park, as well as access to the river from our property (although we do not recommend swimming in the river.)

Enjoy a hike through our 4 miles of trails on 75 acres of rolling woodlands and prairie, picking berries, finding mushrooms, scaring up a turkey or pheasant in the brush or listening to the birds. (Pull out your Merlin app to see who's singing!) Play in the river or upland pond, cut cattails and prairie grasses for souvenirs and enjoy being unplugged for a while. Your hosts are here if you need us, but we leave you to enjoy this beautiful place at your own pace.
This is "socks and shoes, jeans and boots" kind of camping. You're visiting wild places and a working perennial farm, so please dress appropriately for your optimal enjoyment. If you go off trails and other mowed places, you increase your chances of contact with poison ivy, wild parsnip and ticks. Please research these ahead of time and be prepared. We live here and encounter them frequently without more than a slight inconvenience.

We love dogs and have a working Great Pyrenees named Hank. He’s a friendly 120-pound “puppy” who can get very excited around other dogs and may be a bit overenthusiastic when greeting newcomers. While he is not aggressive, he is still in training and has been known to jump up, including on vehicles.
If you are approved to bring a dog, please understand it is at your own risk. For safety, we recommend keeping windows up as you arrive. Hank is contained by an underground wireless fence and won’t approach vehicles on the road, but once you enter the driveway, you’re in his territory. Introducing dogs carefully is encouraged.
We are a working farm family sharing our home—not a commercial campground—so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you’re uncomfortable around large, energetic dogs, this may not be the best fit. That said, well-behaved traveling pups are welcome with prior approval.
There’s plenty of space to relax and explore, plus a fire pit with wood provided, beautiful sunsets, and a swing set for the kids.

There is so much to say about this but I'll try to keep it consise.
This campsite was amazing. Very freeing and safe! Everything included was perfect. Beautiful cow pasture view from the outdoor shower, clean outhouse, no mosquitos (just flies), and an amazing view/access to the river.
Scott is so down to Earth and made me and my friends feel so comfortable. He was very attentive to us and made sure we felt safe.
If you are down with the nudist lifestyle, this campsite is the place for you! So worth the drive!

Anna greeted us with warmth and showed us to our level parking spot, offered an electrical hookup, and showed us lovely dog walking paths. Later, I clipped some kale and a leek, as I had purchased a forage pass, and we purchased maple syrup, which was delicious on our breakfast. We met other campers in the kitchen, and felt welcomed to explore the wetlands and gardens around the property. We viewed a gorgeous sunset over the farm field and had a great sleep. There were ample clean showers and toilets in the building nearby. There was an amazing restaurant-quality kitchen available—with many sinks for washing dishes. Everything was meticulously clean and this farm felt very inviting. The kale and leeks were delicious in our dinner and the whole experience nourished our souls. Anna loves what she does and couldn’t have been friendlier. She clearly enjoys meeting new people and being creative and it made us want to return. This was a stand-out host and we highly recommend.

We had an amazing time at Windy goat acres. Everything was exactly how the listing described it. It was myself my husband and 212-year-old girls. The girls had a great time exploring and having an adventure. The only downside was the heat, but Jess and her husband did everything they could too help with that. We had great AC in the llama llama chalet. And we had the unexpected bonus of there being a Mermaid hosted event that weekend, so the girls got a chance to wear mermaid tails and swim with some real mermaids. Highly recommend the waffle breakfast. It comes delivered with more toppings than I could keep track of. We also did the goat meet and greet and the piggy Popsicles. Even without adding any extra as it would be a great weekend.

I camped at prairie meadow campsite this weekend. It is A great spot.there is shade and sunshine in this site for sunbathers and shade to cool down. Get to watch for deer , birds and cows with calves. The calves were fun to watch playing and running around the pasture. Also got to see 3 deer in the field and a blue heron fly over. Also got to see a Bald eagle pass over the timber.

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. Loved camping at Scott and Kimberly's. They pout great care and consideration into every aspect of your camping experience. The peace and tranquility you will find there is off the charts. It was hard to leave and go back to reality. The sandy ground is like an oasis, the sounds of nature are amazing, both day and night and the hospitality is superb.

Group trip
Bob and Z are fantastic hosts! My brothers, sister and sister in law all went camping on their property for our little sisters wedding that was nearby. This is our second time camping here and the single best camping location we have ever had, all of us agreed. We couldnt wish for anything more from them or the campsite. Always beautiful and its always amazing. Such welcoming people. Everything about the place feels safe and full of good energy. After the wedding we now have inlaws in iowa so we will be back and choose Bobs to camp at every single time. We had everything we needed to smoothly enjoy our camping experience and were fully prepared for the wedding. Thank you again Bob and Z and we will be back again and thank you for being so warm and welcoming people!

Our family had a magical time at the farm! We stayed the whole weekend and never had a dull moment - from exploring the property to bonding with the animals to a surprise mermaid party, we had a great time! We were relaxed from the moment we arrived and were taken care of well by Jess and Jim. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Windy Goat Acres
The hobbit house is a great option for those looking to escape to a magical retreat. The trees around the hobbit house provide a lot of privacy. We could hear people at the nearby cabin, but they couldn't see us nor could we see them. There is a bit of a steep walk from the parking area to the hobbit house, so I recommend you bring a wagon to help bring your items up the path with greater ease. At night, the site was lit up with fireflies and was completely silent. I highly recommend the Hobbit House. I hope to return soon!

Absolutely wonderful spot to stay! Thank you both for sharing your beautiful home, amazing flowers, and happy little birds! I felt like I was home the entire stay, and enjoyed conversation and travel stories! When I come back through I’ll absolutely stay here again. Tremendous!!

The Sun and swimming site is amazing, with a beautiful view of the lake and meadows. I also walked the trails with my dog to check out the other sites. I did not let my lab off leash because there were so many rabbits and I didn’t want to have to deal with ticks. Pretty buggy on a hot humid July afternoon but the bug repellent worked well. It is easy to find, well marked and very remote. No cell service. The river was very inviting but I didn’t go in, since I was a lone camper.
