Unlike large commercial campgrounds, JTRidge offers only a handful of secluded campsites, a private primitive cabin, and Day Passes. With very few guests on the property at any given time, you'll enjoy exceptional privacy, tranquility, and plenty of room to breathe. This isn't a campground filled with organized activities or noisy neighbors—it's a quiet retreat created for rest, reflection, and genuine connection with the outdoors.
Our Day Pass is perfect for a relaxing afternoon, a peaceful lunch break, or simply a few hours away from everyday life. Stretch out in a reclining lounge chair, explore wooded trails, relax in a hammock, read beneath the trees, practice yoga, meditate, or simply bask in the sunshine. For guests wishing to deepen their relaxation experience, **private bodywork sessions are available by appointment**. These personalized sessions are designed to complement your visit by encouraging relaxation, mindfulness, and greater body awareness. Sessions may incorporate guided stretching, relaxation techniques, energy-based practices, and intentional bodywork, always tailored to your comfort level. Clear communication, informed consent, and respect for personal boundaries are central to every session.

Nestled along the scenic Wapsipinicon River, the sanctuary features mature hardwood forests, dramatic limestone bluffs, scenic hiking trails, open sunny spaces, and abundant wildlife. Listen to birdsong (the Merlin Bird ID app is a favorite here), watch cattle grazing peacefully in the neighboring pasture, cast a fishing line into the river, or simply enjoy the quiet rhythm of nature.
As evening arrives, colorful sunsets give way to brilliant star-filled skies free from city light pollution. Gather around a campfire, listen to the gentle sounds of the river, read a favorite book, capture photographs of the landscape, or simply embrace the luxury of doing absolutely nothing.
Looking for a little adventure? Launch your canoe, kayak, or tube in Olin and enjoy a scenic 3- to 4-hour float directly to our riverfront. Several Iowa state parks, fascinating caves, Iowa's only Presidential Library and Museum, and the Great Jones County Fair are all within a short drive, making JTRidge an ideal base for exploring eastern Iowa.

We offer one private site on four acres, including a small pond, beach, treehouse, trails and peace and quiet. In addition to the tipi, there are kayaks, canoe, fire ring, wood supply, cooking equipment, dutch ovens, hammock, and tables and chairs Catch and release fishing is allowed. Campers will need to bring sleeping bags and food. Dogs are welcome. There is a rustic restroom (outhouse), with an outdoor shower. Water and electricity are available at the restroom and campsite.

Our dream was to restore an old farmstead to prairie and woods, grow our own food, make some wine and create a wonderland for grandchildren. The tipi and pond campsite is our way of sharing our place. We love meeting new people, especially those that are looking for a new camping experience.

Nature, art, animals, and lots of space! The hilly, lush land is also known as the Bohemie Alps and it's quite a beautiful area tucked away in Iowa.
Visit with the llamas, goats, peacocks, potbelly pigs and the horses and hike around the property or stay in for a quiet stay with a good book and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Lots of extra 'add ons' to enhance the experience, like a waffle bar kit, smore's package, hikes, and more!

We had an amazing time at Windy goat acres. Everything was exactly how the listing described it. It was myself my husband and 212-year-old girls. The girls had a great time exploring and having an adventure. The only downside was the heat, but Jess and her husband did everything they could too help with that. We had great AC in the llama llama chalet. And we had the unexpected bonus of there being a Mermaid hosted event that weekend, so the girls got a chance to wear mermaid tails and swim with some real mermaids. Highly recommend the waffle breakfast. It comes delivered with more toppings than I could keep track of. We also did the goat meet and greet and the piggy Popsicles. Even without adding any extra as it would be a great weekend.

We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your corner of paradise.

Our family had a magical time at the farm! We stayed the whole weekend and never had a dull moment - from exploring the property to bonding with the animals to a surprise mermaid party, we had a great time! We were relaxed from the moment we arrived and were taken care of well by Jess and Jim. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Windy Goat Acres
The hobbit house is a great option for those looking to escape to a magical retreat. The trees around the hobbit house provide a lot of privacy. We could hear people at the nearby cabin, but they couldn't see us nor could we see them. There is a bit of a steep walk from the parking area to the hobbit house, so I recommend you bring a wagon to help bring your items up the path with greater ease. At night, the site was lit up with fireflies and was completely silent. I highly recommend the Hobbit House. I hope to return soon!

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
We stayed in the Cabin, and, after being helped to settle in and given the tour, spent 2 days in the most pleasant and relaxing setting I've seen in years! Scott was very accomodating, and the property is very well maintained.
Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes weren’t awful, until after a brief rain when the wind died, at which point we had to retreat to the cabin to avoid being ravenously dined on 😅
9/10, if you like nature, camping, don't mind the lack of powered sites, and aren'tparticularly shy, then head to JT Ridges, you won't regret it!

Tough to know where to begin. This place is magical. We stayed in late June with our two kiddos and would 11 out of 10 times recommend! Don't skip the waffle breakfast or feeding popsicles to pigs add ons. My kids are talking about those things more than anything else on this 3-week long road trip. The hobbit house was extraordinary. Everything you need to be comfy and cozy in a dry cabin. There's a water pump outside and a super clean portable toilet a 1 min walk away so it's worth the extra steps to get to sleep in a place this special. The folks who run this farm were so kind, too! We would recommend a stay here to anyone looking to unplug, unwind, and be dazzled by the views and the quiet and the coolest one room cabin ever! I hope we'll find our way back here some other time!
PS - We also did the Sasquatch encounter and wow did I get my husband good! Entertainment of the highest order and a memory for a lifetime!

We took our grandkids here a had the best time. We asked the kids what was the best part and they said all of it!! Jess and Jim were the nicest people and you can tell how much they love their animals. The kids had so much fun feeding the goats and especially feeding the pigs their piggy pops! The waffle bar and cocoa bars were so yummy, movie night was a blast. We all thought it was so cool to sleep in a yurt. It was such a peaceful, relaxing vacation and we’ll definitely tell everyone about it and hopefully be back again!!

The chalet was a beautiful location overlooking the animals with an easy to maneuver trail system. It was also a nice distance from other rentable places so you did feel you had space. Hosts were very kind and we enjoyed the extras with the animals. I did wish there was at least blinds/curtains for the bedroom for some privacy while changing, especially given that this is a frequently traveled area of the property.

Windy Goat is pure whisical joy. Wander around and pet the horses while they graze, say hi to Roscoe and Bentley while they snort for attention and be sure to enjoy happy quacks and bleats from the ducks and goats. We loved staying in the Hobbit Hole and enjoyed just basking in the sun for days.
