Located on a 20-acre stretch of land between Iowa City and Kalona, Lucky Star Farm is a working farm raising dairy goats, llamas, chickens, turkeys & ducks. We are dedicated to sharing local food, education and lodging with the community. Come visit our diverse, sustainable and entertaining farm! The farm is full of outdoor opportunities. Guests can stroll over to the pond and swim, explore, or relax on the sandy beach and dock. Guests are also welcome to fish (catch and release) or use the stand-up paddleboard (lifejackets provided). There is a fire pit, complimentary firewood, and roasting sticks for your use. At the barn you can visit the goats and see their kids playing in the spring. There is a half mile trail around the property that takes you past the restored prairie and llama pasture. Guests can see what's growing in the edible forest and circle through the mandala garden. Visit the chicken coop and see how farm fresh eggs are made!Betty, our vintage 1968 camper, is located a short walk from our gravel parking area located on our bucolic Iowa farm. The hosts live and work on the property and there could be other guests in the nearby Airbnb. Campers have a semi-private patio with a space to relax and enjoy the scenery and a Solo stove. There is a flush toilet in Betty with cold running water. As a guest, you have access to a shower in the public bathroom. It has a locking door and is handicap accessible. The water is potable and there is a Brita pitcher in the mini fridge in the kitchenette.

Oh Betty! Vintage camper
We had such a wonderful stay at Lucky Star Farms near Iowa City! The Airstream was incredibly cute, clean, and comfortable. The property itself is beautiful, with a peaceful pond, a fire pit by the water, and animals everywhere you look. We absolutely loved Tomas the llama — he was our favorite and so friendly! There were also sheep, goats, dogs, and cats roaming around, which made the whole experience feel magical. And of course, Crash the toeless cat is truly the star of the whole farm… besides Susan, who is the real MVP! Susan was so welcoming and friendly and gave us an amazing farm tour. You can tell how much love and care goes into this place. We already can’t wait to come back

What a treasure! Betty was super cozy and we had a lot of fun exploring the land and hanging out with the animals! We'd highly recommend visiting Lucky Star Farms! Being able to sign up for goat yoga was a wonderful bonus as well :)

Such a beautiful place! The camper was perfect for our weekend in Iowa City, and the farm setting was more amazing than we imagined. Susan was a great host, and everything was just as we had hoped. We’ll be back!

Oh Betty! Vintage camper
Susan greeted us outside the camper when we arrived & we instantly felt at home. She has such a lovely presence & Lucky Star Farm is truly magical! Their vintage camper, “Betty” is adorable, meticulously clean, & thoughtfully stocked. We were quickly greeted by several resident barn cats & could see llamas, goats, & sheep from our little patio. We loved everything about our stay & definitely plan to visit again with our kids! Thank you so much, Susan & Rich! Hope to see you again soon!

Oh Betty! Vintage camper
My daughter and I stayed in the Oh Betty camper and it was such a great time! Although it looks small from the outside it is actually quite spacious inside, with all of the amenities you need including a flush toilet and a space heater for those chilly evenings. Susan was such a wonderful host, you can tell she is really passionate about what she does and it shines through in her attention to detail. She took the time to let us play with the goats and also explained a bit about all of the animals, which my daughter loved. Goat yoga was so much fun and the teacher created a welcoming environment for all ages, bodies, and abilities. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique weekend getaway, Lucky Star Farm is so peaceful and a great way to reset!
