This is "socks and shoes, jeans and boots" kind of camping. You're visiting wild places and a working perennial farm, so please dress appropriately for your optimal enjoyment. If you go off trails and other mowed places, you increase your chances of contact with poison ivy, wild parsnip and ticks. Please research these ahead of time and be prepared. We live here and encounter them frequently without more than a slight inconvenience.

We are not a commercial campground. We focus on Zen, mindfulness, peace, and tranquility. Firmly in the realm of Outsider Art, Gothic and rustic, Bob Kellogg has created a place unlike anywhere else in the world that represents freedom and inspires endless creativity. The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within walking distance and less than a mile from our land.

We love dogs and have a working Great Pyrenees named Hank. He’s a friendly 120-pound “puppy” who can get very excited around other dogs and may be a bit overenthusiastic when greeting newcomers. While he is not aggressive, he is still in training and has been known to jump up, including on vehicles.
If you are approved to bring a dog, please understand it is at your own risk. For safety, we recommend keeping windows up as you arrive. Hank is contained by an underground wireless fence and won’t approach vehicles on the road, but once you enter the driveway, you’re in his territory. Introducing dogs carefully is encouraged.
We are a working farm family sharing our home—not a commercial campground—so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you’re uncomfortable around large, energetic dogs, this may not be the best fit. That said, well-behaved traveling pups are welcome with prior approval.
There’s plenty of space to relax and explore, plus a fire pit with wood provided, beautiful sunsets, and a swing set for the kids.

If you're looking for a place to stay that gets you away from others and don't mind the occasional train horn or the bleating of goats then this place is perfect!
We (me + my wife & our 2 dogs) stayed 3 nights at the 'Sante Fe' site. The sites are fairly close together, but no one else was camping while we were there so we had the place to ourselves aside from the goats and farm cats. There is no water hookup, but Wesley offered to fill up our tank from a portable tank he has. He also provided a tank and hose to use for flushing out our black and grey tanks at the dump site he has.
All things considered, I would have paid twice the price we did for what what we got on such short notice!

Scott and Kimberly are great hosts. The property is beautiful. I love that they welcome everyone of every expression with great emphasis on “be yourself” and mutual respect of fellow campers. Campgrounds were booked so I stopped for day pass. Really enjoyed walking the property and relaxing in the hammocks.

We had such a peaceful and relaxing stay at JT Ridge. The property is beautiful, private, and surrounded by nature with amazing river views, wooded trails, and incredible sunsets. It was the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and enjoy some quiet time away from the crowds. The campsites felt well-spaced. This made the experience even more relaxing. If you’re looking for a unique camping getaway with a calm atmosphere and a true connection to nature, this is definitely worth visiting!

We had a group of 6 and spent 3 nights at Scott’s property and it was a blast! We booked both waterfront sites and it worked out really well. If you have a large group you could even book all 3 sites as they are close enough together. But also plenty of space if there are other couples or groups there. We will definitely be returning for another fun weekend!

This was such a beautiful property and the camp sites made for a fun and relaxing weekend! We had a group of 6 and booked both waterfront sites. This worked out perfectly as we had the tents set up on one site and hung out around the fire, played games, and cooked dinner in the other site. Scott was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! The trail from the parking to the sites is a bit of a walk, but less than 10 minutes. Scott had an ATV and wagon to help carry our supplies when checking in and leaving. The bathroom is close by and uses a portable camping style toilet with bags to dispose of after each use. The shower was an outdoor rainwater shower so a bit cold but very refreshing after a day of activities. Lots of shade at the sites and nice and sunny up at the communal lounging area at the top of the property.
We've already decided we will be making it back and might even book all 3 sites to share as they are close enough to work for a group but gives you plenty of space if there are other families or groups there. We are all very grateful that Scott has created this unique and welcoming space and couldn't recommend it more!

Scott was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! The trail from the parking to the sites is a bit of a walk, but less than 10 minutes. Scott had an ATV and wagon to help carry our supplies when checking in and leaving. The bathroom is close by and uses a portable camping style toilet with bags to dispose of after each use. The shower was an outdoor rainwater shower so a bit cold but very refreshing after a day of activities. Lots of shade at the sites and nice and sunny up at the communal lounging area at the top of the property. We’ve already decided we will be making it back and might even book all 3 sites to share as they are close enough to work for a group but gives you plenty of space if there are other families or groups there. We are all very grateful that Scott has created this unique and welcoming space and couldn’t recommend it more!

Site is located at a camp, so you get the advantages of that. Hammocks, playground, air hockey, bags and ping pong. Very nice and clean bathrooms. There were times when there were a lot of people around, and times when we had the whole place to ourselves.

Weekend Trip to Lucky Star Farm
We had such a wonderful stay at Lucky Star Farms near Iowa City! The Airstream was incredibly cute, clean, and comfortable. The property itself is beautiful, with a peaceful pond, a fire pit by the water, and animals everywhere you look.
We absolutely loved Tomas the llama — he was our favorite and so friendly! There were also sheep, goats, dogs, and cats roaming around, which made the whole experience feel magical. And of course, Crash the toeless cat is truly the star of the whole farm… besides Susan, who is the real MVP! Susan was so welcoming and friendly and gave us an amazing farm tour. You can tell how much love and care goes into this place.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jenna and Eric’s Blueberry Farm campsite. Jenna greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour around the farm. There were chickens in the driveway, and kittens in the barn. We got to meet the llamas and sheep and give them a treat. We walked the trails around the property and roamed through the blueberry patch. It was just a lovely stay. Highly recommend!

I loved my stay at Whispering Pines. They were attentive and responsive to our messages via the app. Their campsite felt safe and was clean. The facilities were spacious and clean. My dog loved the walking trail that ran along the outside of the campsite. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Wonderful day with a top-notch host. Would highly recommend. Great amenities on a small working farm. Close enough to the train tracks to admire them but far enough away to not feel too close. Admittedly, some noise from them in the night, but not bad.
The goats were a huge bonus. Wesley is a terrific host and very friendly and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again.

What a treasure! Betty was super cozy and we had a lot of fun exploring the land and hanging out with the animals! We'd highly recommend visiting Lucky Star Farms! Being able to sign up for goat yoga was a wonderful bonus as well :)

James was so nice! We got there late and we werent able to meet him until we were about to leave-he apologized he wasn't able to meet us earlier, but the site was super easy to find. His land is beautiful and the campsite is private. James is an excellent host and we are very glad we got to chat before leaving.
