Weekend Trip to Rock Wall Ranch LLC

We were the first guests to try out the dome tent! It was such a neat experience. It was my husbands and my first camping trip so it was trial and error on our end of things. As we navigated our trip, the host was quick to reply and just as quick with helping us. We loved the property, and felt comfortable. The dome was located at the end of a field area with some fending around it. It gave us a secure feeling while we slept at night. There are several cabins on the property and they appeared quite charming.They felt distant enough for us to have privacy. We plan on coming back with our children this summer, so that should tell you how much we loved this trip! We felt very special due to the positive experience tr we received. We had some issues pop up with getting too warm, but a fan and portable ac was provided. We had to end up placing some tarps over the dome to help keep the area cool. It was a learning experience for all of us. We enjoyed giving the dome a shot, and we enjoyed sharing our experiences with the host :-)

Had a lovely stay at The Light Center 🙏✨️ A wonderful spot to reconnect with nature and meet new friends (Susan does a wonderful work and is very welcoming) 💚 Their barn is well stocked with community food, coffee, and tea, and their bathrooms are well kept. Had some great hikes along their nature paths and camped out under some great star filled skies! Will definitely stay again when im in the area 🌟

1 night at Roots, Fruits & Greens Farm

Kate’s land is beautiful. And there’s way more than is visible. She was very accommodating. I loved the outdoor toilet and shower. She has plenty of cooking amenities ready for use. I got goat food from her and went to find them. Warning, one of them is greedy! LOL I was lulled to sleep by the sounds of 2 different kinds of owls. Her dogs are beautiful, but one is a little rambunctious. But Kate made sure to keep a hold of her. There’s a great area for a campfire as well, but I felt it was too windy for that. But there was wood, branches, and some paper for making a fire. Overall, if you’re ok with primitive, I’d highly recommend staying here.

Weekend Trip to Rock Wall Ranch LLC

Daniel is a cheerful, considerate host. I stayed in the Boho cabin on an unseasonably warm weekend. He had it clean and cooled off before I even got there. The cabin was clutter, free, cute and cozy. I really enjoyed the view of the land from the cabin. There is a firepit with free wood perfect for a fall evening and a starry sky. My dogs and I enjoyed hiking, ,petting the horses and exploring. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I hope to return with family members as this strikes me a place that’s beautiful all times of the year!

Weekend Trip to The Nest at Duck's Landing

An absolutely wonderful stay! Exceeded my expectations. Susan and Brian were so friendly and welcoming. There was a thunderstorm, and they came out to introduce themselves and give us a flashlight, and invited us to come up to their house if the storm got bad. My 10&13 y/o boys absolutely loved it. The highlight for them was the stocked fish pond and feeding the ducks. The property was beautiful and peaceful, with lots of benches, a pier and a porch swing. The firepit area had seating, and the firewood was even arranged so the fire was already built for us! The camper was adorable and cozy. So many small details (such as battery-powered candles on inside the cabin when we got in), and other decor that was very thoughtful and aesthetically pleasing! It's clear that this couple really find enjoyment and pride in bringing guests into their space. We really just felt so taken care of the whole time.

Weekend Trip to The Light Center

Our stay in the Moonlight room at The Light Center was incredibly comfortable and soothing. Walking around the grounds was very peaceful. We loved getting to see the chickens and pet the goats! Robin lead us through a beautiful meditation for the Fall Equinox event that they had the day we arrived. Susan was very welcoming and so helpful with explaining the property and where we could wander and explore. We will absolutely be visiting The Light Center again!

Great campground, except RV overflow campers.

Rabbit Ridge Campground

Great primitive site with access to multiple fishing spots. Caught plenty of crappie and a couple catfish. Downside to this trip was RV campers showing up after quiet hours on a Friday night who had not bothered to reserve other campgrounds and found them full. Ran their generators, played music, left truck lights pointing into tents - the usual lack of etiquette.

Crappie Cove Campground

We stayed in a primitive tent camping spot. While the setting was nice, with trees and a view of the lake, there were drawbacks. A short walk away a shower house was available, which was a prime reason we picked this campground. In the women's shower house there were 7 showers - but only 2 worked and 1 of those was a low shower designed to be used while sitting.

Really nice sunrise. A little buggy in the summer but mostly moths.
