We are a small hobby farm with a dog, chickens, a small fruit orchard, vineyard, and garden!! On the north end of the property we created a playground with a jungle gym, swings, trampoline, playhouses, outside polyjohn/toilet, and a 16' pool. This property is pet friendly but be warned we do have a large dog (very friendly)! We have power to support smaller 20amp campers with water and a dump station. An outdoo shower will be available in July 2024.

The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away. This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.) We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.   We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).   Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

We had a fabulous time at Ann's camping spot. My kids loved wading in the calm river; we did kayak practice for my 4yo (it was very low and very calm--just perfect for a 4yo!); my dog loved splashing and playing; we enjoyed a morning fire, and an evening fire; my kids all caught cute little fish! Ann even helped me out when my car wouldn't start. She was responsive to my many queries and concerns, which made for a very confident stay. It was so lovely!

Outhouses and cold shower (hot if solar gets sun).

Luke was very accommodating with our reservation request. The place was perfect for our needs. Great grassy areas, quiet, safe and easy to find. Plus close to anything you needed and didn't have! We plan to stay again on our way back east in a few months. Definitly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Rest in Ozark Oak Nest

Such a beautiful place. My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was so beautiful and perfect. The sunset on the pond while we ate was amazing, we enjoyed the fire. It’s such an amazing escape. We are definitely coming back again and again!
