Float, Fish, Swim or vacation in the Ozarks. We have approximately 3 acers of the 15 we own set aside for camping. Plenty of room for two campsites on cleared, level land adjacent to the James River. Best suited for tent or small campers. We offer firewood, a port a potty, a dumpsite for holding tanks, water from our well to fill your water tank and electricity to charge devices and RV batteries at my barn. Generator rental available on a first reserve, first serve basis. Located about halfway between Springfield, MO. and Branson, MO. Nearby attractions include trout fishing, and a mountain bike park. Please note, This campground is located in a floodplain and weather related cancellations are common. Fish, Fish, Fish. This river is primed for fishing. You will have to bring your own boat, or float as I don't have good river bank fishing access. I added a small floating dock last year to fish or swim off of. There is a state park boat ramp a short distance away. The steps in the photos are plenty sturdy to tie boats to overnight. This river is fishable with flat bottom jet drive boats most of the spring and early summer and floatable year round. You can float to your campsite and relax instead of waiting in line at the boat ramp. Also we are located about 13 miles from Crane Creek, A blue ribbon trout park. You can camp here and fish there.

The farm is 37 acres We are a family ran farm, we have cattle, goats, pigs, chickens and honey bees. We grow produce and hay. You will have all the wonderful smells and sounds of a farm. The farm has a wood lot and a seasonal pond. Besides our animals you might get lucky enough to see some of the visiting wild life: deer, turkeys, racoons, squirrels, opossum, or armadillo. The pasture is quite visible from Old Route 66, nearly adjoining it. Therefore people traveling “the Mother Road” find it convenient to stay with us. Grass is the best forage for horses, especially older ones, so we take care of our pastures, making for beautiful scenery for campers, too. Plus the entire back mile is bordered by old forest. And there is a swimming hole not a half mile away. This is a quiet and private site, bordered by a neighbor's old forest on back, other neighbor's cattle pasture on side, and you're in one of the pastures used by the Horse Sanctuary. (You are camping about 1/4 mile, more or less, from our house.) We regularly see coyote, wild turkeys, deer, fireflies, and the like.   We are just 1/2 mile off Old Route 66, therefore there are quirky little museums and great restaurants (for such a rural area!).   Plus we are only about an hour's drive from Branson. MO. which is a known tourist attraction.

We live on a small paradise covering 2 acres. We have plenty of space for 33' foot campers, tents, vans, etc. Our backyard has been designed to accommodate families and the single nomads. We are a small hobby farm with a dog, chickens, a small fruit orchard, vineyard, and garden!! On the north end of the property we created a playground with a jungle gym, swings, trampoline, playhouses, outside polyjohn/toilet, and a 16' pool. This property is pet friendly but be warned we do have a large dog (very friendly)! We have power to support smaller 20amp campers with water and a dump station. An outdoo shower will be available in July 2024.

Dwight was very responsive to all of my communication prior to arriving. We arrived late at night, but it wasn’t an issue. The campsite had plenty of space. Dwight checked in with us before we left and we had a nice chat. While we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy all the amenities, I would absolutely go back for a longer stay.

We left wishing we could spend a whole weekend here as the amount of activities and the quality of the campground are insane for the price point. We definitely recommend camping here whether it’s just for a night or for a whole week.

3 nights at Peaceful Rest in Ozark Oak Nest

We enjoyed our outing to this secluded area - not too far away from Republic if you need some last minute stuff, but still far enough away for bright stars and fresh air. The area itself is well cared for and made for a very relaxing weekend getaway. We loved the views of the pond in the morning and managed to catch a few fish! Would absolutely recommend and will undoubtedly return in the future.

This is a great safe place to "pullover," and I had warm banana muffins delivered to me in a virtual hailstorm! If the weather had been at all cooperative I would have loved exploring and building a fire. The outbuildings are all hand built wood construction - even the pit toilet!

1 night at Warriors o' Rainbow Horse Sanctuary

While traveling Route 66, we spent a lovely night in the pasture at Candida’s horse sanctuary. With the table, chairs and full fire pit, it was all we needed. All the night noises were a bonus! Would not hesitate to come back.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Rest in Ozark Oak Nest

Irena has a beautiful homestead! They were so welcoming and helpful. She answered any message or question we had quickly and kindly. My older kids loved the different swings and playing by the pond. My little one loved the chickens, ducks and geese! We had a peaceful weekend spot, lots of tree cover and a fun little pond. We would definitely camp here again!

Weekend Trip to The Walnut Retreat

The hosts were very accommodating! Offered services/amenities above what is posted online. Willing to share suggestions about local food and sights. Had wildlife around to watch (deer/chickens) and was quiet overnight. Perfect for our 1 night travel stay. Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Camp Mi Casa

When I arrived I was upgraded to a site that had a small privacy wall a couple chairs and some neatly decorated route 66 paraphernalia on the privacy wall. The RV park has full electric, water and sewer hookups on each site. There is a bathhouse that contains men's and women's bathrooms with showers and a washer dryer area for campers use. I must say the bath house was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The park itself has a New Mexico midwest vibe to it even though it's in Southwest Missouri. Would definitely go there again.
