Please understand that our property is a working farm, and our staff are often busy working on projects and have full careers, outside of farming. We do not have the same amenities as a public campground or "all inclusive" camp resort. Instead, we offer your wandering heart a place to rest.
All travel to the farm is on paved roads, with no confusing dirt roads to navigate. The property is located near the small community of Runnells, Iowa in rural Camp Township. Enjoy a cold beer or hot food at one of the two local taverns, or check out the local ice cream shop or our local farmer's market on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Don't worry if you forget something! We have a nearby gas station and a general store.

Amy, our own resident biologist, will give you an opportunity to learn about livestock husbandry and the local wildlife. The farms orchard boasts several wild bird feeding stations, with edible landscaping!
A stay on our farm will provide you with an opportunity to learn about Land Management in an agricultural setting. Learn about carpentry and welding from a master fabricator, or book an adventure to learn about gardening, poultry care, horsemanship, beekeeping and even falconry! Off-site, but nearby opportunities: miles of scenic hiking and biking trails, kayaking and fishing. The Iowa State Fair Grounds and Adventureland Waterpark is only 20 minutes away, along with big city fine dining, music and art museums are all less than a thirty miles drive; when you need a break from camping and nature.
Fee based transportation is available for guests flying in or needing a break from driving, or whenever you need a quick trip into town.

We open year-round!! We believe each season has its special nature-beauty, so we open year-round. The property name is Tri-pond Farm. This secluded, beautiful, pet-friendly 40 acres of fenced farm camping site is on hilly-pond land and is rare in Iowa, with a view of 3.5 private fishing ponds and a far view of the Red Rock Lake. There are 10 acres nature timber area that keep you away from the other campers and the rest of the world. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and a solar light. The drinking water is at the entrance, but no electricity on. There are tons of natural features, you may see deer, rabbits, and other game birds by your campsite. Each camping sites have good distance to keep privacy from each other.
A recently built 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is for those who want a more climate-controlled stay while still enjoying the magnificent gifts.
For surrounding areas, the nearby White Breast Beach is open from May 23 to September 3, 2026, with boating, hunting, and hiking activities in Lake Red Rock. For our campers' safety, any hunting activities are not allowed within our camping ground. However, in case you come hunting with Iowa hunting tags, a couple of public hunting grounds are near our camping ground.
The recently built glamping geodesic Dome tent is located on top of a hill. You will have a fantastic sunset view of ponds and a lake view while enjoying the great nature and having a comfortable stay.
The cell phone signals are good from most providers; you may use your cell phone hotspot work remotely at this astonishing Lake Red Rock Oasis ^_^.

A little history of this land:
These 40 acres of land were a surface mining site. The reclamation works done
during the 1970s. But over the years, the soil was seriously eroded. Anna and Peilin, who have Master's and PhD in soil and environmental health backgrounds, bought this land several years ago and started to restore the vegetation. Now the site looks beautiful and ready for the nature lovers and campers to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake, ponds, hills, and tall grass, Butterflys... The site is totally different from what Google Maps shows now.

Firmly in the realm of Outsider Art, Gothic and rustic, Bob Kellogg has created a place unlike anywhere else in the world that represents freedom and inspires endless creativity. The land provides multiple camp sites for easy access to bike and walking trails taking visitors into town or through the Wapsipinicon State Park across the river from the property. Anamosa offers several restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses all within a 1-mile walking distance from your campsite.

Built in 1860 by its first caretaker botanist, this homestead was propagated over its many years of life and is busting at the seams with medicinal and edible herbs. This custom designed glamping lodge was a dream of mine for a long time. I wanted a place to go to unwind and be with one with nature. But! wanted it close to town so I do not have to travel far and still be close to the city attractions.

The lodge backs up to a large hill--called the Loess Hills. Many deer, raccoon, possum and turkey call it home and so does a few pets of mine to include a mini schwazer and two goats. They just love being adorned by new people. I think you will find this a perfect place for a good nights sleep.

Such a beautiful property! The camping site was very well maintained and the owners provide almost anything you need and more. It was lovely being able to let my dogs offleash to swim and run around while watching the sunset. The cots they offer for the tipi were really nice too. And the wine they make is delicious! I will definitely be back.

The spot we parked our conversion van was great, level, quiet, and steps away from a well appointed bathroom. The camp host was so kind do come out late to meet us as we arrived. In the daylight, this campground has many interesting and unique amenities. Multiple buildings on site are re-used grain silos! Super cool used of a round metal structure. I’d definitely stay here again!

Jenice was exceptional and responsive. She sent a picture via text of where to park, simce she was not there. The amenities on the camp were amazing. It was unfortunately to hot to enjoy the outside gazebo and to take pictures. But if it was it would be an amazing experience. We had an amazing experience without it too.

Janice and Kelly go above and beyond what is needed. I had a tire problem and Kelly called a friend who picked up the tires. And got what I needed and delivered them back to me. The shower house has everything including a free washer and dryer. It doesn’t get better than that for me.

Scott gave us a tour of the site. It has a lake, a river, and a wonderful view. The cabin has two hammock over a hard wooden floor. There are places to answer nature's call and also to shower. Scott was very polite and let us use the refrigerator in the garage.

This was our second stay and Jenice and Kelly are the kindest hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved staying here again and look forward to returning.

2 nights at Windy Goat Acres
We had a very nice time at the farm! I highly recommend getting the add-ons...we did the goat experience and popsicles with the pot-bellied pigs! We had lots of visitors around the cabin over our time there. We went to Amana and came back to horses and peacocks hanging out around the cabin! We loved exploring the property as well- lots of things to see and check out.

Group trip
We had such a lovely time at Walking Stick! The space is so beautiful and being able to just get comfy and have the whole area to ourselves is unbeatable. Having all the cooking supplies provided is so helpful. We could have stayed forever!

The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming! The property is beautifully laid out with lots on amenities! Clean walking trails with benches along the way. There is a wall of bluffs along one trail that was especially cool to walk along. I attended this property for quiet wildlife photography and it didn't disappoint! No public traffic! I would highly recommend this as a place to visit!

We had such a fun weekend at the farm! Amy could not have been a better host! Beautiful, secluded site. Had a nice shady area for tent setup. Quick walk to the bathroom/hot tub. Plus the kiddos loved getting the "farm experience" with one on one horse petting/grooming time, collecting eggs, petting and learning about the chickens, holding a quail! What a unique experience so close to the city! Added perk- ice is a 1 minute drive and ice cream about 5min away. Great getaway!!

My wife and I had an amazing four night stay. Very relaxing, everything was set up beautifully for us, and it was located perfectly for us. We were curious about staying in a camper - size, comfort, etc...but both realized we could do it easily. Our dog loved seeing the horses, turkeys, and hanging in the stream too.

There were two groups at the river area where I camped. We all got along very well and hung out. Pretty awesome when a bunch of strangers can get together and just laugh and tell stories. Scott and Kimberly came down Sunday morning and we all had a great time visiting with them as well. I love that I found this little slice of heaven.

We had another great time at Scott and Kimberly’s place. Three nights was the perfect amount of time. There were lots of laughs, good food, love, and fun. It’s so nice that Scott and Kimberly share this place with others where you’re able to shed your worries and just enjoy nature and the company you’re with. Speaking of company, it was a full camp this weekend and it was a lot of fun to meet new people and share an evening just enjoying each other’s company. We are already planning next year’s trip! Weekend Trip to Oakwood Retreat
Small but neat. Plenty of amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Loved the relaxed vibe of the whole place. Disappointed we didn't take more time to explore the whole property buy we enjoyed just hanging around our spot in the time we had there.
