All travel to the farm is on paved roads, with no confusing dirt roads to navigate. The property is located near the small community of Runnells, Iowa in rural Camp Township. Enjoy a cold beer or hot food at one of the two local taverns, or check out the local ice cream shop or our local farmer's market on Tuesday evenings during the summer. We open year-round!! We believe each season has its special nature-beauty, so we open year-round. The property name is Tri-pond Farm. This secluded, beautiful, pet-friendly 40 acres of fenced farm camping site is on hilly-pond land and is rare in Iowa, with a view of 3.5 private fishing ponds and a far view of the Red Rock Lake. There are 10 acres nature timber area that keep you away from the other campers and the rest of the world. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and a solar light. The drinking water is at the entrance, but no electricity on. There are tons of natural features, you may see deer, rabbits, and other game birds by your campsite. Each camping sites have good distance to keep privacy from each other.
A recently built 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is for those who want a more climate-controlled stay while still enjoying the magnificent gifts.
For surrounding areas, the nearby White Breast Beach is open from May 23 to September 3, 2026, with boating, hunting, and hiking activities in Lake Red Rock. For our campers' safety, any hunting activities are not allowed within our camping ground. However, in case you come hunting with Iowa hunting tags, a couple of public hunting grounds are near our camping ground.
The recently built glamping geodesic Dome tent is located on top of a hill. You will have a fantastic sunset view of ponds and a lake view while enjoying the great nature and having a comfortable stay.
The cell phone signals are good from most providers; you may use your cell phone hotspot work remotely at this astonishing Lake Red Rock Oasis ^_^.

A little history of this land:
These 40 acres of land were a surface mining site. The reclamation works done
during the 1970s. But over the years, the soil was seriously eroded. Anna and Peilin, who have Master's and PhD in soil and environmental health backgrounds, bought this land several years ago and started to restore the vegetation. Now the site looks beautiful and ready for the nature lovers and campers to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake, ponds, hills, and tall grass, Butterflys... The site is totally different from what Google Maps shows now.

This custom designed glamping lodge was a dream of mine for a long time. I wanted a place to go to unwind and be with one with nature. But! wanted it close to town so I do not have to travel far and still be close to the city attractions.

The lodge backs up to a large hill--called the Loess Hills. Many deer, raccoon, possum and turkey call it home and so does a few pets of mine to include a mini schwazer and two goats. They just love being adorned by new people. I think you will find this a perfect place for a good nights sleep.

We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. We stayed the whole weekend and never had a dull moment - from exploring the property to bonding with the animals to a surprise mermaid party, we had a great time! Weekend Trip to Windy Goat Acres
The hobbit house is a great option for those looking to escape to a magical retreat. The trees around the hobbit house provide a lot of privacy. We could hear people at the nearby cabin, but they couldn't see us nor could we see them. There is a bit of a steep walk from the parking area to the hobbit house, so I recommend you bring a wagon to help bring your items up the path with greater ease. At night, the site was lit up with fireflies and was completely silent. I highly recommend the Hobbit House. I hope to return soon!

We stayed in the Cabin, and, after being helped to settle in and given the tour, spent 2 days in the most pleasant and relaxing setting I've seen in years! Scott was very accomodating, and the property is very well maintained.
Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes weren’t awful, until after a brief rain when the wind died, at which point we had to retreat to the cabin to avoid being ravenously dined on 😅
9/10, if you like nature, camping, don't mind the lack of powered sites, and aren'tparticularly shy, then head to JT Ridges, you won't regret it!

Weekend Trip to 1860's Botanical Homestead
The Bunkie is a perfect weekend landing spot. The cabin has everything you need and a bonus of petting Toast. Jessica was a gracious host and the property is historically beautiful. Also don’t miss visiting Bellevue, it was such a peaceful walk with dinner along the river.

Don't skip the waffle breakfast or feeding popsicles to pigs add ons. My kids are talking about those things more than anything else on this 3-week long road trip. The hobbit house was extraordinary. Everything you need to be comfy and cozy in a dry cabin. There's a water pump outside and a super clean portable toilet a 1 min walk away so it's worth the extra steps to get to sleep in a place this special. The folks who run this farm were so kind, too! We would recommend a stay here to anyone looking to unplug, unwind, and be dazzled by the views and the quiet and the coolest one room cabin ever! I hope we'll find our way back here some other time!
PS - We also did the Sasquatch encounter and wow did I get my husband good! Entertainment of the highest order and a memory for a lifetime!

Weekend Trip to The Prairie Lodge
Me and two friends stayed here for a weekend of fishing. It was easy to find and communication was great. We didn't spend a lot of time at the lodge but really enjoyed the privacy, remoteness, and quiet. The place was set up really nice with everything we needed. I would highly recommended staying here and may be back myself in the future.

Weekend Trip to Folk School Farm Stay
This is great for groups, with Cabins and tent camping, and a large well appointment kitchen for making breakfast. Its fun to wake up to baby sheep and barn cats in a beautiful setting.

We took our grandkids here a had the best time. We asked the kids what was the best part and they said all of it!! Jess and Jim were the nicest people and you can tell how much they love their animals. The kids had so much fun feeding the goats and especially feeding the pigs their piggy pops! The waffle bar and cocoa bars were so yummy, movie night was a blast. We all thought it was so cool to sleep in a yurt. It was such a peaceful, relaxing vacation and we’ll definitely tell everyone about it and hopefully be back again!!

With pets
The chalet was a beautiful location overlooking the animals with an easy to maneuver trail system. It was also a nice distance from other rentable places so you did feel you had space. Hosts were very kind and we enjoyed the extras with the animals. I did wish there was at least blinds/curtains for the bedroom for some privacy while changing, especially given that this is a frequently traveled area of the property.

Hidden gem ! Would highly recommend staying here. We stayed in one of the yurts and it was beautifully done. The animals on site are awesome to observe and spend time with. Owners are very friendly and personable.
