Please understand that our property is a working farm, and our staff are often busy working on projects and have full careers, outside of farming. We do not have the same amenities as a public campground or "all inclusive" camp resort. Instead, we offer your wandering heart a place to rest.
All travel to the farm is on paved roads, with no confusing dirt roads to navigate. The property is located near the small community of Runnells, Iowa in rural Camp Township. Enjoy a cold beer or hot food at one of the two local taverns, or check out the local ice cream shop or our local farmer's market on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Don't worry if you forget something! We have a nearby gas station and a general store.

Amy, our own resident biologist, will give you an opportunity to learn about livestock husbandry and the local wildlife. The farms orchard boasts several wild bird feeding stations, with edible landscaping!

Learn about carpentry and welding from a master fabricator, or book an adventure to learn about gardening, poultry care, horsemanship, beekeeping and even falconry! We open year-round!! We believe each season has its special nature-beauty, so we open year-round. The property name is Tri-pond Farm. This secluded, beautiful, pet-friendly 40 acres of fenced farm camping site is on hilly-pond land and is rare in Iowa, with a view of 3.5 private fishing ponds and a far view of the Red Rock Lake. There are 10 acres nature timber area that keep you away from the other campers and the rest of the world. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and a solar light. The drinking water is at the entrance, but no electricity on. There are tons of natural features, you may see deer, rabbits, and other game birds by your campsite. Each camping sites have good distance to keep privacy from each other.
A recently built 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is for those who want a more climate-controlled stay while still enjoying the magnificent gifts.
For surrounding areas, the nearby White Breast Beach is open from May 23 to September 3, 2026, with boating, hunting, and hiking activities in Lake Red Rock. For our campers' safety, any hunting activities are not allowed within our camping ground. However, in case you come hunting with Iowa hunting tags, a couple of public hunting grounds are near our camping ground.
The recently built glamping geodesic Dome tent is located on top of a hill. You will have a fantastic sunset view of ponds and a lake view while enjoying the great nature and having a comfortable stay.
The cell phone signals are good from most providers; you may use your cell phone hotspot work remotely at this astonishing Lake Red Rock Oasis ^_^.

A little history of this land:
These 40 acres of land were a surface mining site. The reclamation works done
during the 1970s. But over the years, the soil was seriously eroded. Anna and Peilin, who have Master's and PhD in soil and environmental health backgrounds, bought this land several years ago and started to restore the vegetation. Now the site looks beautiful and ready for the nature lovers and campers to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake, ponds, hills, and tall grass, Butterflys... The site is totally different from what Google Maps shows now.

This custom designed glamping lodge was a dream of mine for a long time. I wanted a place to go to unwind and be with one with nature. But! wanted it close to town so I do not have to travel far and still be close to the city attractions.

The lodge backs up to a large hill--called the Loess Hills. Many deer, raccoon, possum and turkey call it home and so does a few pets of mine to include a mini schwazer and two goats. They just love being adorned by new people. I think you will find this a perfect place for a good nights sleep.

The Prairie Lodge, once the main “corn crib” used for drying and storing harvested corn, has been thoughtfully renovated into a comfortable and charming retreat. Inside, you’ll find a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a cozy living room, and an open loft with four queen beds. The loft comfortably sleeps eight and can accommodate up to ten guests with a blow-up mattress if needed.
Step onto the east-facing patio deck with your morning beverage and watch the sunrise over fields of blooming prairie flowers. Wildlife is abundant—deer, rabbits, songbirds, pheasants, and even eagles are frequent visitors. As night falls, the second-floor deck becomes the perfect spot for stargazing and listening to the calls of coyotes echoing across the land.
Next door to the Lodge, you’ll find the Bin Bar—a once-abandoned grain bin transformed in 2017 into a unique gathering space ideal for late-night storytelling and nightcaps under the stars.
For those traveling with a larger group, RV campsites with full water, sewer, and electrical hookups are available near the Lodge. If additional accommodations are needed beyond the Prairie Lodge, please contact your Hipcamp host for details and availability.

We invite you to turn off your phone and unwind on the front porch rocking chair as you watch one of our breathtaking sunsets or sunrises. Pasture and grassland with 7 ponds are accessible by a short hike along the cattle trails. A marked perimeter trail follows Wolfe Creek, home to wildlife and a shady cool spot during the hot days of summer.
Mulberry Cottage is at the northeast corner of a 200-acre cattle ranch where we practice rotational grazing on ten paddocks. The cabin, surrounded by Mulberry and Osage Orange (Hedge Trees) are host to berry eating birds and mammals. (And the occasional marsupial). Cattle are fenced outside the cabin area but may be close by where you hear them and see them. Deer and coyotes are common on the property as plenty of birdlife. The cabin is a farm-stay experience with farm fresh eggs, and Mulberry preserves for your baked goods in the morning.
You will need your muck boots and cowboy hat to hike our cattle trails and wade in the creeks. Try your hand at "frogging" in the marshes of one of our 7 ponds. Bottle-feeding a calf or collecting eggs are some of the chores you are welcome to participate in. You'll be amazed at the variety of wildflowers and birding opportunities. The head cowboy himself will invite you to chore time or have a farm tour of our grazing and regenerative practices. Our natural beef and tallow products are all for sale at the farm or grill up some "Ohnemusbeef" available at our farm store. Sourdough bread with Mulberry preserves are available. Campfires are permitted with a small firewood fee.

We had such a peaceful stay! When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and lovingly shown around the property. You can tell that there was so much love and positivity in every pocket of air. We stayed at the Eagle’s Nest, which was very private and had a wonderful view. To our delight there were hammocks inside too :). We loved the cows, birds, and frogs as well. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your corner of paradise.

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
We stayed in the Cabin, and, after being helped to settle in and given the tour, spent 2 days in the most pleasant and relaxing setting I've seen in years! Scott was very accomodating, and the property is very well maintained.
Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray. The mosquitoes weren’t awful, until after a brief rain when the wind died, at which point we had to retreat to the cabin to avoid being ravenously dined on 😅
9/10, if you like nature, camping, don't mind the lack of powered sites, and aren'tparticularly shy, then head to JT Ridges, you won't regret it!

Weekend Trip to The Prairie Lodge
Me and two friends stayed here for a weekend of fishing. It was easy to find and communication was great. We didn't spend a lot of time at the lodge but really enjoyed the privacy, remoteness, and quiet. The place was set up really nice with everything we needed. I would highly recommended staying here and may be back myself in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay! It's close to the lake, as well as dowtown Des Moines, although it feels remote and secluded. I am a camper, my husband is not so much, and this was our son's (1 yr old) experience camping- it was the perfect blend for all all of us! It was clean, well thought out, and Melissa was great to work with. Looking forward to staying here again!

Weekend Trip to #JTRidge Sites/Clothing Optional
Scott and Kimberly were wonderful hosts. They made us first time naturists feel very comfortable and welcome. My wife has always said she did not want to give naturism a try but once we got there she was willing to. All because of the comfortable nature of our hosts and the property. We loved it so much we have already booked 2 more trips this summer

Weekend Trip to New Hope Farm
Everything was wonderful. It was a very cozy stay and we loved being on the New Hope Farm with Mary and Rick. They are such nice people and we enjoyed visiting with them and exploring their property, especially the woods and meadows and springs. The cabin was just what we needed, very comfortable and with the basic necessities for glamping that made it ideal. We hope to keep coming back and to experience all the seasons there.

We recently stayed here for a getaway to Decorah and overall had a really great experience. The property felt private and peaceful, while still being close enough to downtown Decorah and surrounding attractions to easily explore the area. It was the perfect mix of convenience and relaxation.
The creek and waterfall were such a highlight, and we especially loved getting to pet the horses during our stay. It really added to the charm of the property.
Jon was also very responsive and helpful. We ran into a few small issues during our stay, but he came right away to assist and was great about communication.
A couple things future guests may want to keep in mind: the fridge is on the smaller side, so depending on your group size or length of stay, bringing coolers might be helpful. The shower is also fairly tight/small. It worked well for our kiddo, but was a little less comfortable for adults, and the hot water runs out pretty quickly, so plan on shorter showers.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the unique setting, peaceful atmosphere, and great location

What a beautiful room story stay in, perfect for a weekend get away. I loved waking up to the sounds of birds, and looking out into the hillside in the morning. The proprety is so fun to walk around and admire all the beautiful colors from flowers.

Linda was amazing as was the property. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy, but how couldn't I be? The views, the wildlife, the sunset, the serenity..
.all top notch. Felt like you were all by yourself. My dog absolutely loved it. The loft was cozy and comfortable and exactly as described. It got cold but Linda even delivered a ln extra bundle of firewood in the dark. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Nature Heaven by lake red rock
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Dome, which offered a beautiful view. We were fortunate to experience perfect weather and a stunning sunset. I wholeheartedly recommend this location for a peaceful escape from the city. The host was readily available for communication, which I greatly appreciated. The generator unfortunately stopped working on the second day, and we had some difficulty with electricity, but we managed to resolve it. One area I hope they will consider upgrading is the restroom facilities. I was quite disappointed with the bathroom situation, as we had to travel to a gas station for our needs due to cleanliness issues, including spiderwebs, dust, and an unclean toilet. I would love to return, but I would need to be prepared to bring my own portable restroom.
