The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. Angell Creek Campground is located in beautiful Island Park Idaho. It has been in our family for over 50 years. We are surrounded by pine trees, and it is a quiet place to escape the noise of the world. It is a place to recharge and enjoy the outdoors. Our campsite is close to West Yellowstone and only 30 mi. from Yellowstone National Park. Island Park has a lot to offer including: boating, waterskiing, fishing, canoeing, swimming, hiking, trail riding and much more. All of these activities are within a few minutes away. We are in close proximity to highway 20 and easy access to services and dining. We have a very large parking area where you can park trailers and vehicles. We have about 3 acres and have 5 RV spots. We have a central sheltered picnic area and a big fire pit on each RV spot. Each pad is rented at $40 a night with provided 50 and 20 amp service with an adapter provided for 30 amp service. No water or sewer is provided. There is a porta potty on location from mid May until end of October. Must pack out all of your trash or be a accessed a cleaning fee per lot. We have an easy to access spot to fill up water to your camp trailers or rvs. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good. We just added a 24ft pontoon boat for rent. This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

The Camp is located in the Headquarters Wolverine Ranch and we decided to name it Wolverine Adventures after a saying that Kelly and Robyn's family has. If something has to be done on the Ranch that is of a more difficult nature, we ask one another "What time is it? Adventure time!" This gets us through the more demanding tasks on the Ranch and allows us to have fun and humor through it all. As you pull through the Juniper log archway you will drive right through the corrals. Gates may be closed but are to contain cattle and horses, not to keep people out. Come on in and please close the gate behind you. Wolverine and Jones Creeks run through camp and we do allow catch and release fishing with an Idaho Fishing License of course. Camp is the perfect place to unwind after driving all day and unplug from the busy world outside of the gates. THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AT CAMP!! You may get signal a short walk up a hill above camp. We do allow campfires but only in the community fire pit area. There is a hot water shower with 180 degree views of the Juniper covered hills while you wash the stress away. We do also have a flushing toilet and potable water right in camp. We do offer a few add on Adventures such as trail rides or Ranch tours. These will need to be discussed in advance of your arrival. Communication with Robyn is encouraged via HipCamp messaging as we often are out of service and need to know an approximate ETA. We prefer to meet every guest and help you get settled in, answer any questions, and apprise you of any information you will need to enjoy your stay. There is abundant wildlife that frequent The Camp, including White Tailed Deer, Mule Deer, Song Birds, Racoons, skunks, and snakes. We do allow pets, however they must be on leash and under control at all times, The Camp has resident chickens and cattle and horses are always nearby.

Our property is hidden within an epic cedar, fir and pine forest, bracketed by the Kaniksu National Forest to the east and conservation land to the west. SPRING/SUMMER/FALL: Spend the afternoon at the Trestle Creek on the eastern shore of Lake Pend Oreille, only two miles down the road (just off Highway 200), where you can launch your boat, swim at the beach, or paddle along the shore in your kayak or SUP. Or, take an adventurous backcountry drive up Trestle Creek Road into the mountains of the Kaniksu National Forest where you can check out Lunch Peak Lookout, hike miles of pristine trails to one of the three nearby mountain lakes, explore several waterfalls, or drive the entire 35 mile backcountry loop down to the town of Clark Fork. If quiet rest is what you seek, find a secluded spot next to one of creeks where you can hang a hammock and listen for that still small voice. Or read a book until the peaceful whispers of flowing water and breeze through the trees lulls you to sleep. You'll be in for a special treat if you book your site during the annual Kokanee Salmon spawning season! The salmon run usually starts during the last week in August or first week in September and lasts through late September. There are a multitude of viewing locations along Trestle Creek to witness this yearly miracle and snap some amazing photos! WINTER: Bring your snow machines and take advantage of sled in/sled out access from your campsite to the Trestle Creek loop system, boasting spectacular backcountry terrain with 50+ miles of groomed trails and hundreds of thousands of off-trail acres to explore! On-site trailer parking adjacent to the road is available. If skiing is your thing, Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is an easy (and gorgeous) 45 minute commute. Don't tell anyone, but Schweitzer Mountain is an absolute gem of a ski resort with 2,900 acres of gorgeous skiing terrain (and epic views) for all ages and skill levels. Our family spends a good bit of time skiing here. Winter Driveway Access: a 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle is required to climb our driveway during winter conditions. OUR STORY: We (Tim and Molly) spent 14 years raising our young family in the desert heat of north Phoenix. Every summer we went dispersed camping as many weekends as possible with our four (now five) children in the backcountry mountain ranges of northern Arizona. We watched our family grow stronger together and sibling relationships flourish as the mental and emotional grime of the city grind was slowly washed from our souls during idle morning hangouts, afternoon hiking adventures and evening stories and laughs around the campfire. We had a particularly amazing mountaintop experience in 2014 backcountry camping over Labor Day Weekend where we felt a strong calling to share with others the blessings we were experiencing. Our hearts were impressed with a desire to host a place in the "wilderness" where people and families could escape and unwind from the noise and pace of city life for a few days and maybe even have a mountaintop experience of their own. After several years of waiting for the right timing, we started exploring and found this place in January 2019. By April we had sold our home in Phoenix and moved our family 2,000 miles north to this 27 acre property on a mountain of Hope. We named it Maverick Mountain Home, which captures our love of the wilderness, our mission to care for the lost, and our desire to be unbranded by the world. Upon landing here we immediately got to work preparing. We've spent the last five years working on hundreds of different projects, including: rehabilitating our driveway, beginning a long-term whole-house remodel, building a chicken coop, maintaining our driveway, fencing in a new orchard, chicken yard, and pig yard, planting trees, replacing a spring house, maintaining our driveway, installing underground infrastructure for future guest facilities, clearing trails, milling lumber, and maintaining our driveway. In 2024 we dedicated a good portion of April and May to preparing our first HipCamp site, Living Water, which went live on our wedding anniversary at the end of May. We added our second site, Boondock Butte in July with plans for several more sites in coming years. Since the first booking on our opening weekend we've watched as that line from "Field of Dreams" came true in our "backyard" - we built it and they started coming. PLEASE PACK OUT ANY TRASH. THANK YOU The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house. So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. PLEASE PACK OUT ANY TRASH. THANK YOU The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house. So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river. There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. 3 nights at ALMOST TO CANADA - FAR NORTH IDAHO

Our winter visit to the Far North was excellent. The cabin was a perfect place to spend time together. We loved the selection of books available to visitors during our stay. It was great to have kitchen equipment and to use it easily. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy on snowy, cold days outside. The Views are stunning, with no one around but our family. It was ‘dry’ camping because of the late season, but that did not stop us from having quality time together. I love that Paul provides firewood. He was great at communication and make us so welcome at his property.

Great spot close to Boise but felt like we were in the country. Grandkids loved playing by the pond. We went in October so water was low in the pond and beach was muddy in places but kids had a ball and mud washes off. We liked The Willows campsite by the willow tree. Loved listening to the little creek that runs behind that site. Driveway to campground has quite a slope but we had no trouble driving our 27’ rv back up. Woke up to see cows in the pasture behind the campground. Also saw two cranes.

2 nights at Cagle Cove

My son and I spent two days at Cagle Cove, The Aspens site and had a great time. We are definitely going back. It feels very secluded. You hear some birds, occasional cow and some roosters in the morning. The sites are spacious and very clean. The ground is flat with no rocks or roots to worry about, so tent placement is quick and easy. We were in a 3-person tent with a 10x10 canopy and even had room for our Yukon XL. The owners kept a fresh stockpile of firewood they sell for $5 a bundle, and these logs are big, they’re dry and burn quite a long time. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway to recharge, get a good nights rest, cook over a campfire, and see a sky full of stars, this is the place. You can splurge and bring the good steak, because this place is a deal.

We arrived late but Derek provided directions to the local store via text and met us at the gate. Helped to find some small firewood and lent an axe. Next morning woke to a really peaceful site where the owners have done a great job of making a great site - communal area with games, nice lighting and the best shower we’ve seen after weeks on the road. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I where on our way to WY and it was getting late. All of a sudden it started to snow, we need a place to go for the night. I found Angel camp and it was so beautiful, and to our surprise it had electric hook ups so we even had heat thru night. I did need to call to ask a question and the host answered first ring and was very helpful and kind. This is such a wonderful camp sight. I would love to stay here again.

Great little find close to town! The spots are a little close together mostly because it's so open and some are on the smaller side (we had a hard time fitting our 10 person party tent and our car in our spot out of the road, there are bigger spots we'll pick next time. But it's great if there's only one or two spots taken or it would be wonderful to rent the whole for a family campout. We will definitely be back. It's beautiful and the pond was fun. The boats are a nice touch. They keep it clean and the portapotty is perfect. It's nice having the dog off leash. We were there for a week and Lily only visited one day, she was a nice dog and a lot of fun for the kids that we're there between the two sites, she's definitely a bonus but she does find any food you haven't closed up so keep it packed ;) Just information- there's not much by way of fire making materials to be gathered, they sell logs at a very fair price compared to the local gas stations but you'll have to use fire starters, girl scout water or bring your own tender/kindling.

I loved camping on this piece of property! The camp sites were fantastic with a great view. The land is very well maintained and has small hikes through the property. There are amazing touches throughout the property that show the host loves the property. It was very quiet and felt remote. The trees and rock landscape on the property are beautiful. Things to know: The road up is one way and fairly narrow. Move slowly and use a spotter if necessary. Also - the electric supply box is located a distance from the D spot, and is shared by C and D. You may need more electrical line to reach your camper, even in the C spot! It was a great site to camp in and the host was responsive on the app!

Location is beautiful--about 40 minutes on a gravel road outside of Huntington on the Snake River. The camper itself is pretty rustic and bare bones. Be sure to bring your own towels, blankets, and pillows. The kitchen has just enough supplies to make a very simple meal and the appliances worked fine. Thanks to Danny and the dogs for hosting us 😀
