Like a postcard photograph, Bigfoot Campout sits perched over Mirror Lake on one end of a mountain bowl. Campers will have gorgeous views and sunsets over the lake. Fishing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, hiking and wildlife watching abound. The campsite is off-the-beaten path so you'll be away from the crowds, yet the site is still close to other area attractions like Lake Pend Oreille (10 min. drive), charming downtown Sandpoint (15 min. drive) and Silverwood Theme Park (30 min. drive).
The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing.
Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground?
Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day.
Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee).

RV dumps right down the road, as well as a 27 hole golf course, if that's your thing. Or just relax, dip your feet in the Teton River and listen to the water pass by.

Camper trailer-- 16' vintage camper Little Buffy that sleeps 2 and has a mini-kitchenette and guests use the Loo-uvre Restroom/Shower House close by.
New to the Lodge is Adirondack-style "The Bunkie" that sleeps 6 or 7 plus has a desk, microwave and fridge.
All bed and bath linens are provided in all of our rooms. Firepits are a-plenty!
Our Inn also has great tent sites, plus both 30 amp and 50 amp RV/Camper sites with water and electric, a firepit and picnic table each, plus a fee dump station. We are currently planning/building another shower/restroom house and a laundry mat. There is a fee dump station on site.
With over ten acres of property to play at and stroll, your stay will be one of fun, peace and quiet. Our RV & Camp is fun! We have our famous Borrow Barn with loads of complementary activities including a 9 hole disc golf course with maps/disc/scorecards, free pedal boats, Little Free Library #69967, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, board games and more, plus our cruiser bicycles in our Bike Corral are for guests to enjoy on property also. We are very close to hiking, hot springs, rapelling, 200+ miles of ATV and SxS trails, golf, mini-golf, a driving range, skiing, ice cream parlor and two restaurants, and the mighty Snake River corridor right across the road. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). Both routes are beautiful with waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and Idaho countryside. We are 20 minutes from Bear World in Rexburg, and less than two hours from Grand Teton Park and Yellowstone National Park regardless of which of the four routes that you take, with each route including a beautiful waterfall. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). We don't have a view of the river but it's nearby and our meadows and mountains offer a peaceful scene all its own. Camp surrounded by Old Growth Cedars and towering Grand Fir, stargaze by night, enjoy a campfire, smores and time with your family, Our peace includes little to no cellular service and don't offer internet or satellite tv. Feels like we're in the country but we live on a paved county road and only 4 miles from the city of Priest River.
Bring your boat for a trip on the Pend Oreille River to Lake Pend Oreille. Launching is a short distance away at the Mud Hole, Priest River City Beach or Riley Creek Campground. Try your hand at fishing for bass, kokanee, perch, northern pike, and trout in the river or on the lake. Wake up in a peaceful woodsy setting where elk, deer, the occasional moose and turkeys roam the property and are often seen in the meadow.
Load up your ATV, side by side or motorcycle and head for Priest Lake right from here. It’s a 21 mile (40 minute ride) to Coolin, ID. Enjoy the back county and take some of the IDL roads along the way to explore scenic drainages and in July/August pick some luscious huckleberries (the state fruit of Idaho) for a pancake or milkshake treat. In the fall, a nice central location for hunting camp. Want to go skiing or enjoy the summer lift ride? Head up to Schweitzer Mountain, about an hour drive away (38 miles/65 mins). The city of Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille (Idaho's largest lake) are a half hour away (26 miles/33 mins) and Silverwood Theme Park in Athol, ID less than an hour away (36 miles/52 min).

What a beautiful Hipcamp site! The three sites sit on mowed grass in a lovely farm setting. We watched several bevies of quail as well as a couple of American Kestrals on the property.
The bathroom port-a-potty was extremely clean and included a hand washing station. Water and trash were easily accessible.
I would stay here again.

It was a great site. The host was very friendly and helpful. They had a great view of the fields and it was sheltered beneath great ponderosa pines. The only detractor was the traffic noise, but it settled down and was okay at night time.

Fabulous camp!! Plenty of space to hammock, lots of communicative wildlife (a teenage chipmunk made it his priority to follow and chirp at us around the site), and Nathaniel was super communicative. Great proximity to local sites.

Weekend Trip to Crazy Cow Farm Adventure
What a wonderful experience, especially for the grandkids (ages 2-8). The kids loved seeing and feeding the animals, playing on the play equipment, riding the pedal cars around the property and to the nearby park and candy store. Also cooking hotdogs over the camp fire. It was a great family reunion with some in the rental trailer on site, some in tents, and our 5th wheel as headquarters. We even helped chase sheep along the path to help them (the sheep that is) build some muscle for a future fair competition. Oh, also holding puppies and helping catch an escaped rabbit.
It is a very unique chance for our kids and grandkids to be on a working farm and get just a taste of farm life.
Shayna and her family were wonderful and patient hosts that took time to explain farm things to the grandkids. On our second evening, the grandkids even abandoned a birthday cake to run and do chores for the animals with Shayna. A great experience and great memory builder! Do note though, it can get pretty warm in August!

We had a wonderful time at this quiet little Hipcamp spot in the woods! Everything is so thoughtfully laid out, amenities and activities available for rent, fun scavenger hunts for the kids, a cute little dock on Mirror Lake and only a couple minute drive down to Telache Landing, which has crystal clear water and great swimming & fishing. The site (C) was easy to get into and peaceful! Would definitely stay here again. 🌟

The bathroom was well maintained and we were the only folks on our side so it was very special. Site F is awesome, highly recommend! Also loved the option for early and late check out.

Nice place to stay for a night. The host was responsive and thoughtful, he even alerted us to a potential traffic problem in the area. It was clean and peaceful. It was nice to camp with running water and a shower. Only downside was the traffic noise from the highway

A Wee Place in the Woods is truly magical! Such a gift to be able to slow down, enjoy nature, and do some crafts. The upgrades are great, the outhouse is super nice and the treehouses are sturdy. A bit of the whimsy of the past is missing but we are thankful that a Wee Place made it through a transition of ownership!!

We spent a week in Spot 1 at The Lions Den with our two pups. It was incredible. Beautiful scenery all around, hosts leave you be and are very quick with any communication. We had a few days with poor air quality due to wildfires and ventured into Montana (only an hour drive), went to Kootenai falls (highly recommend!! As well as Yaak River/Falls and into a pub in Libby. There are many trails for hiking close to the property as well as places to ride ebikes/dirtbikes. Just sitting in the creek on a hot day with a cold beer was pretty perfect. The trains people have mentioned are quite frequent, but they didn’t bother us at all.
Would highly recommend and stay here again!
Also, there is a year round, 24/7 dump station at the Boundary County fairgrounds in town!

It was a beautiful quiet location. We each had 90 year old mothers we were visiting 30 minutes each direction so it was a good location for us and a quiet retreat to return.
