This quiet and serene corner lot is 13 miles from Animal Kingdom, 15 miles from Magic Kingdom, 19 miles from Sea World, 23 miles from Universal Studios and only 30 miles from Lego Land!! The Publix grocery store is right outside the community and a WaWa gas station is 1.5 miles away so you can easily gas up when you leave. Hi, I'm Danielle. My Mom, JoAnn, founded Black Horse Ranch in 2017. "You're family here" is something she said all the time to people who came to stay, and it is truly at the heart of our ranch. Black Horse is a place to enjoy nature, camping, campfires, and good company, in a place that feels like home.
The property is a beautiful campground nestled into a nook of the Ocala National Forest. We are surrounded on 3 sides by forest, and you can ride or hike straight from any of the many trailheads on property!
We offer 30 and 50amp sites, there is a bath house with full bathrooms and laundry, a Community Kitchen you are welcome to use, a screened in Pavilion for meals or hanging out, a POOL! (yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals.
If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena.
There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?).
There is plenty to do on the ranch and nearby the ranch. You will have a blast. We'll see you by the campfire!

Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location.
But Shiloh is now lost, removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future.
However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families.
As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch.
You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! It’s up to you. We are a peaceful, safe location from which you can stage your Florida adventure. Come on by!

We loved the privacy of this site! This site is a nice level gravel site in a setting that is perfect for nature lovers. We had plenty of room at the site to angle our small popup so that we had a nice view of the natural forest of bald cypress, oak, pine, palms, as well as the lake. We loved having a private dock and fire pit in an area that offered plenty of shade, with a nice breeze blowing across the lake. We thought it a very relaxing and peaceful spot! We plan to revisit!

We arrived late due to our own scheduling issue and had to leave early the next morning for a medical appointment in The Villages. The communication with Danielle was outstanding with practically immediate response and she was very accommodating with our schedule and needs. She gave us a group of sites to choose from, and we were easily able to get in and setup in the dark due to our late arrival. We didn't see much but what we did see was very well kept and had a lot of nice touches of decor that made the whole place really inviting. We will definitely be back for a visit and will spend more time to check out all that this place has to offer.

Wonderful place! No playground, but still soooo much for the kids to do! Swimming pool, fishing, perfect for riding bikes, riding scooters, passing the football, enjoying nature, just being outside! 10/10 recommend and bring a golf cart if you have one (they are also available to rent). The Cowboy Cajun food truck (DELICIOUS) and camp store were wonderful! They had a raffle for a local girls softball team going on at the pavilion too! We will definitely be back and will tell everyone about Camp Mack!

We loved everything about this site. The site was very private with a gorgeous lake view. The site included full hook-ups, a table with benches and a fire pit with the firewood already provided. A trash can and a recycling bin were also provided. We stayed for 4 days and were really sad to leave. I could have stared at that lake forever! If we are ever in the area again We would definitely stay here again..

The setting is absolutely stunning, and being surrounded by beautiful farm animals made it even more special—especially the Highland cows, miniature donkeys, chickens, ducks, and friendly dogs. What a great experience! Lovely space with gracious hosts. They were immediately available and helpful while also giving us plenty of space to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful private setting. It was great to have site hook ups and it was easy to get in and out. We were camping for our anniversary and Jeep Beach but there is plenty to do close by. Relaxing by the lake is wonderful too! AMAZING!!! I can't say enough honestly. Our family goes to Orlando a couple times a year and have always stayed at the bigger campgrounds, Fort Wilderness, Margaritaville, etc. This was the most quiet, peaceful place we have ever stayed in Orlando. The people that are there we so nice and polite, and it didn't even seem like we were in the city at all. The site set up is awesome and the hot tub was my kids highlight lol. I will return over and over. The convenience of the location is near perfect to everything. Ginger was superb, and helpful with recommendations nearby as it was my wife's birthday. We loved hanging out in Steve & Brandi’s backyard for the 4 days. It was quiet, relaxing and our dogs loved roaming free like they do at home! We affectionately referred to it as Puerto Backyarda! We are from Canada and we’re in desperate need of some sunshine and downtime! Thanks so much!

We all enjoyed this site. Laura met us, told us the lowdown and left us to our own devices. It felt like it was our place. The lake,birds,insects,wildlife was amazing. I'll take this anyway over the city's in Florida. Awesome fires,awesome meals and plain relaxation 😌. Don't go, cause I don't want you to take my week! LOL! Really, really a wonderful site!

Christie’s camp was great! Beautiful level, private grassy spot under mossy oak trees. Quiet location conveniently located to the east of Orlando. Electricity and water available. Might need a long hose. We would absolutely come back again our travels to us this way!

This is a fantastic site. It’s also worth going out of your way for. The campsite is new, clean and private. There was an abundance of shade and a great breeze off the water. Hiking, boating and a park are all near by. I will be staying here again. The owners were also vey kind and responsive.
