Long before Blackwater was here, this part of Georgia was the ancient coastline. Today, where that old coastal "trail ridge" meets the St. Marys River, you find a soft white private sandbar along a shallow, clean, refreshing, dark blackwater river surrounded by native woods.

We are just a small 12 acre property working towards being a self-sustaining homestead.

While you're here we're very happy to share our lovely farm animals with you. Never held a chicken before? You can here! Want to pet a goat or hold a goat kid? We're happy to let you do so. I'm not sure the ducks or geese will let you hold or pet them, but you can certainly watch them swim and quack throughout the day.

You'll be privately tucked into a quiet corner of our property where you have a walking trail and full access to our stocked pond for fishing or just hanging out.
There's a little Columbia County Park co-managed with Suwannee River Water Management District across the street. The park has a boardwalk that takes you out to view the waterfall, picnic tables, a playground and a historic church.

Amazing camp site on 87 acres with open fields and grand daddy oaks with amazing sunrise and sunsets and plenty of open area for stargazing. This property includes three "pul through" R/V sites each with water and 50a hook up. No septic as we offer Indoor bathroom and showers and fully equipped kitchen area with refrigerator stove and microwave, coffeemaker and plenty pots, pans and dishes. When the "blue roof cottage by the tracks" (yes, it used to have a unique blue roof) hit the market in early 2021, we knew it had to be ours! We booked the one "partial hookup" site with water and 50/30A. Parking was easy and not more than 100 feet from the river, with a gentle sand slope and easy entry for swimming. We swam in the evening and the morning. The water was cool but not cold. There was a little more than a gentle current, being summer, and being a natural river there were places that were more difficult with branches and steeper banks, but the main swimming spot was really nice. We had the whole property to ourselves. The owner was very responsive by text. T-Mobile connection was strong, even for streaming.

This site is definitely secluded. There is a nice large picnic table and lots of firewood. You really are immersed in the woods and there are no other campers. There’s nothing fancy, but everything you need: water, table, fire pit, some chairs and a bucket style outhouse. I’ve stayed here twice in passing.

Blackwater Ranch is a real gem of a property. Lots of activities, plenty of space, and tons of easy access to the river, which is the star of the show. One of the unique features of rivers in this area is their white sand beaches and Blackwater Ranch has some of the best I've seen. The river was low when I visited (drought) but I can tell that even when full it is a fairly shallow and slow moving river with multiple spots that stay shallow due to the way the water deposits sand, making it a great river for younger kids. Even the bugs weren't too bad, which being summer in FL/GA was a welcome surprise. The property is equipped with the necessities for a comfortable experience (water, electricity, pit toilet) but still very primitive and rustic.
I camped one night solo but will certainly be back with a group of friends!

So quiet and peaceful. We had to be in Jacksonville for multiple meetings and needed to extend our stay twice. Easy booking, fast feedback and privacy. Host was available but not intrusive, he responded quickly when we needed anything. Area was clean, paddleboat available to float around the pond. Conveniently located close enough to town with that out of town feel. We will stay again if we come back to the area.

Allie was so kind and thoughtful, the amenities were all clean- Allie thought of everything we could possibly need. Immaculately clean with a huge paved parking / hang out area plus a lush grassy lawn. Easy in and out for our truck and travel trailer.
