Camping at Pastimes Cabins and Camp near the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge was a peaceful and enjoyable experience. The sites are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, offering both privacy and comfort whether you’re camping in a tent or staying in one of the cabins. The cabins are cozy and well-kept, providing a great balance between rustic charm and convenience. The owners and staff are friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful—they make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. One of the best parts of staying here is the location. Being so close to the Okefenokee allows for easy access to boating, wildlife viewing, hiking, and photography, while still having a calm place to return to at the end of the day. Nights are especially enjoyable, with clear skies, fresh air, and the peaceful sounds of nature. Overall, Pastimes Cabins and Camp is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to explore the Okefenokee Swamp or simply enjoy a relaxing camping getaway. Highly recommended for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

Basic Cabin - The Fox Den
If you’re going to the swamp to kayak, this is a great location. It is right across from the National Wildlife Refuge entry. I stayed in the most basic cabin, whites just two beds, a mini fridge, microwave, fire pit, and small screened porch. Cabin is the size of a bedroom, basically. Communal shower and bathroom was satisfactory for a camping experience. Don’t expect hotel quality in the bathroom, that’s not what this is about. Charlene, a caretaker, was kind and helpful. I stayed her with my adult son. Perfect for two people. We brought a portable grill to make our own food and also went to Folkston for one dinner. It is quiet and family friendly. The swamp is an amazing natural wonder.

We absolutely loved the cabins we stayed in. The staff was awesome, the bathrooms were clean and the proximity to the Refuge was perfect. Several of us will be coming back with our families.

The camping site was wonderful. What made it even better was the staff there. Everyone was awesome there. Charlene runs a wonderful kitchen etc. Food there was better than in town so we in fact stayed at the camp to eat. They had live entertainment one night. Talented young man. Had a little trouble with Hipcamps description of the place as they made it sound as if the cabins had restroom and shower, but it was communal. All of which were perfectly clean and not bad at all. The campsites web site was accurate but hipcamps was not. But that was a small thing and not the camps fault. Great place to get away

This place is amazing! We were late leaving for our Valentine’s camping trip. We were so late getting there. The staff that night and the next were so very nice. They gave us tons of ideas for things to do. They also have a field in the back for the best star gazing ever.
