Monarch Manor Farm is not a stack and pack camper on top of camper place. It is a private organic farm owned by a Homeopathic / Naturopathic doctor and biochemist who is a nature lover, lives there and enjoys sharing the peace and tranquility with others. Pets, kids and even grandparents are welcome. The property has 40 fenced acres, private, secure and a safe place campers can enjoy. Although the property can accommodate more than 50 sites, Rick keeps it at only 3 spacious sites around his organic spring fed pond stocked with Tilapia, Largemouth bass, Red ear and Bluegill. Those who enjoy catch and release or catch and eat are welcome. There is also an abundance of blackberries and elderberries you are welcomed to pick which usually begins mid May. Guests can also enjoy many different types of wildlife, birds, chickens and even Black Angus cows meandering around.
Monarch Manor Farm is also an official Monarch Butterfly weigh station and safe respite for migrating butterflies. These beautiful pollinators have been on Earth about 175 million years from what we can gather from fossils. Beyond the splendor that would be lost from the world if monarch butterflies went extinct, there would be ripple effects in the environment.
Monarchs share their habitat with many other species of insects and birds. The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again.
All three sites are right around the pond with great views. A combination of large live oaks, shade and sun All sites also have a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Site 1 has your choice of 110 and 30amp power. There is no power at site 2, 2A or 3. The bath house is equipped with 2 showers. One shower is heated by geothermal means and the other by a tankless hot water heater for evening showers. There is a foot pedal hand sink, portable-potty, and seating. All water is filtered and drinkable. There is a fish cleaning station equipped with a garden hose. Only 22 minutes from either Ocala, Fl or Gainesville, Fl. and 5min from Hwy. 75

An outhouse / composting toilet is currently under construction with the rain water collection system now complete. In the meantime a portable toilet is provided. A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. Manatee Springs and Fanning Springs consistently offer up close sightings of Manatees without the crowds of Crystal River. There is also a boat launch on the Suwannee River just minutes from the farm for boating, skiing and fishing. Bob's River Place is minutes away.The Gulf of Mexico is just 40 miles away. 30amp plugin and UV filtered water hookup. Class C or smaller preferred. This site backs up to the trail so, periodically you see a cyclist buzz by. Adjacent to RV pad is a raised/clean tent camping area with additional room for tables and chairs. The whole space is about 50ft x 50ft
Campsite B
“The Bus” is a retired 1978 Greyhound Tourbus. The cab remains untouched with all the vintage radios and switches. As for the rest…it’s essentially a queen size sleeping studio. Equipped with 2 small under mount refrigerators, a large toaster, 2 burner stove and hot water. Definitely went far out with this one but, it also has fun lighting and 100’s of vinyl records and amazing sound system. The windows are very thick and filter the natural daylight, so reading or jumping online (yes there is Internet) is very relaxing.
Campsite C
“The Preserve” is for those that just have a small tent and minor gear. Bike touring is popular in our area and we are a base camp for mid-journey adventures. Affordable, safe and refreshing….and back gate to the trail.
Our Indoor/Outdoor restroom is fully enclosed and plumbed with hot water shower and flushing toilet. The concrete structure is for all camp guests.

Monarch Manor Farm is also an official Monarch Butterfly weigh station and safe respite for migrating butterflies. These beautiful pollinators have been on Earth about 175 million years from what we can gather from fossils. Beyond the splendor that would be lost from the world if monarch butterflies went extinct, there would be ripple effects in the environment.
Monarchs share their habitat with many other species of insects and birds. The birds would lose a food source, and their decline is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” for other pollinators. If other pollinators decline like monarchs, it could have impacts on the food that humans rely on. This year (2024) we hope to finally get the Monarch Butterfly put on the endangered species list and see them rebound in numbers. So when you stay here you are also making a contribution that provides a safe chemical free environment for these super pollinators to multiply once again.
All three sites are right around the pond with great views. A combination of large live oaks, shade and sun All sites also have a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Site 1 has your choice of 110 and 30amp power. There is no power at site 2, 2A or 3. The bath house is equipped with 2 showers. One shower is heated by geothermal means and the other by a tankless hot water heater for evening showers. There is a foot pedal hand sink, portable-potty, and seating. All water is filtered and drinkable. There is a fish cleaning station equipped with a garden hose. Only 22 minutes from either Ocala, Fl or Gainesville, Fl. and 5min from Hwy. 75

A potable water station is available and built from re-purposed materials and wood harvested locally. We are a working farm. We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. After years of buildout (since 2017), we welcome you to relax and share this unique ecological corridor of Alachua County.
We are located in the heart of the Lochloosa Wildlife Management Area, just 10miles from the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. We offer a getaway with natural intention.

Literally, our back gate is the Gainesville/Hawthorne Bicycle Greenway Mile Marker 10.5. Head west to through the preserve to lively downtown Gainesville or head east to Hawthorne to quiet historic Hawthorne. The trails go for miles...and outdoor recreation is everywhere!
We offer several opportunities for guests:
Campsite A:
“Rv”
30amp plugin and UV filtered water hookup. Class C or smaller preferred. This site backs up to the trail so, periodically you see a cyclist buzz by. Adjacent to RV pad is a raised/clean tent camping area with additional room for tables and chairs. The whole space is about 50ft x 50ft
Campsite B
“The Bus” is a retired 1978 Greyhound Tourbus. The cab remains untouched with all the vintage radios and switches. As for the rest…it’s essentially a queen size sleeping studio. Equipped with 2 small under mount refrigerators, a large toaster, 2 burner stove and hot water. Definitely went far out with this one but, it also has fun lighting and 100’s of vinyl records and amazing sound system. The windows are very thick and filter the natural daylight, so reading or jumping online (yes there is Internet) is very relaxing.
Campsite C
“The Preserve” is for those that just have a small tent and minor gear. Bike touring is popular in our area and we are a base camp for mid-journey adventures. Affordable, safe and refreshing….and back gate to the trail.
Our Indoor/Outdoor restroom is fully enclosed and plumbed with hot water shower and flushing toilet. The concrete structure is for all camp guests.

This RV campsite was just as listed and met all our expectations. The space was private, very clean, and clearly well maintained. There were additional amenities, including a pool, that we didn’t use due to the time of year. The site was spacious enough for our Class A, trailer, and SxS with plenty of room to maneuver. The trailhead at the park was perfect and made getting out and exploring easy. It was peaceful and easy to settle in, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful spot to camp for one night or multiple nights. Pond provides a pretty view and a peaceful place to toss in a fishing line. Sites are spaced out and there is a nice hot shower and port a potty on property. Owner is friendly and accommodating! Would definitely stay here again.

Sharon was so accommodating and her campsite had the perfect amount of amenities to unplug. We loved the outdoor bathhouse (water always at 72 degrees, even in freezing conditions!!) and laying under the stars. Wonderful campsite!

My husband and I stayed in David's cabin for several nights & we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cozy, but spacious enough for the two of us. It was very comfortably heated, which was great when the weather got down to the 30's overnight. The water was hot, perfect for the shower & washing dishes. But the thing that made this place special was being near the water & watching the many birds. We saw sandhill cranes, ibis, coots, ahinoules, & galinules here. We would definitely recommend David's place!

So serene and pleasant, the host and resident doggy were great!! We had fun relaxing in this spacious site, the walk to convenience stores was super light and we appreciated the boat launch just across the street! I didn't realize exactly how close we'd be to a stunning dock for enjoying morning journaling or sunset paddling on the calm Lake Ida. We felt safe here, the neighborhood seemed welcoming and there were plenty of dogs to meet on our walks! Thanks again!

The monarch farm was everything that Rick described it to be and so much more! The sites are huge. We easily fit three tents and had plenty of room left over. The large pond is absolutely beautiful. We fished every day and finally caught some elusive large mouth bass and one huge tilapia. My grandchildren fished from Sun up till sundown. The bath facilities were exactly as described and very comfortable to use. The property was very quiet with only an occasional sound of a truck and of course, our early morning wake up with the rooster. Our two dogs loved, running around and being free. I don’t know if there can be a better host than Rick! He checked on us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved talking to him. This location is only 25 minutes from Gainesville yet very secluded. I think my only recommendation would be to put a different lock on the front gate, perhaps one with a combination but that’s it. I wouldn’t change a single thing. I truly loved being with my family in this location. This is definitely a five star location.
