Camp Declan is a rare find: a private, breezy, six-acre lakefront retreat that feels like stepping into classic “Old Florida,” where the air is clean, the nights are quiet, and nature is always part of the experience. The property includes three thoughtfully designed buildings: Cabin – comfortable air-conditioned sleeping quarters with private bathroom Bunkhouse – group-friendly lodging (six adult-sized bunkbed sets) with bathroom Cabana – the social hub with outdoor bar, kitchen, commercial ice machine and hangout space Together, Camp Declan comfortably hosts up to 18 overnight guests and is ideal for families, youth retreats, reunions, fishing buddies, retreat weekends, and anyone seeking a down-to-earth, unplugged getaway with real space to spread out. Osceola National Forest is 200,000 acres of exploration with your name on it! In the northeastern Floridian forest, pine flatwoods and cypress-hardwood swamps surround, with diverse wildlife abound. In this leafy paradise lives gopher tortoises (they act like gophers, but are tortoises!), alligators, black bears, and the skunk ape, also known as the “stink ape,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to bigfoot. Areas of recreation include Ocean Pond--a fave place for boaters, skiiers, and campers, and Olustee Beach for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also open to hunters and fishermen with permits. With so much land to explore in this National Forest, we wouldn’t be surprised if bigfoot was hiding in there!

Welcome to Bike Trail Camp 10.5 After years of buildout (since 2017), we welcome you to relax and share this unique ecological corridor of Alachua County. We are located in the heart of the Lochloosa Wildlife Management Area, just 10miles from the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. We offer a getaway with natural intention. Unwind and Recharge right out the gate… Not only are there 1000’s of acres of natural are to explore, enjoy concerts, breweries, dining and entertainment all accessible by bike! Literally, our back gate is the Gainesville/Hawthorne Bicycle Greenway Mile Marker 10.5. Head west to through the preserve to lively downtown Gainesville or head east to Hawthorne to quiet historic Hawthorne. The trails go for miles...and outdoor recreation is everywhere! We offer several opportunities for guests: Campsite A: “Rv” 30amp plugin and UV filtered water hookup. Class C or smaller preferred. This site backs up to the trail so, periodically you see a cyclist buzz by. Adjacent to RV pad is a raised/clean tent camping area with additional room for tables and chairs. The whole space is about 50ft x 50ft Campsite B “The Bus” is a retired 1978 Greyhound Tourbus. The cab remains untouched with all the vintage radios and switches. As for the rest…it’s essentially a queen size sleeping studio. Equipped with 2 small under mount refrigerators, a large toaster, 2 burner stove and hot water. Definitely went far out with this one but, it also has fun lighting and 100’s of vinyl records and amazing sound system. The windows are very thick and filter the natural daylight, so reading or jumping online (yes there is Internet) is very relaxing. Campsite C “The Preserve” is for those that just have a small tent and minor gear. Bike touring is popular in our area and we are a base camp for mid-journey adventures. Affordable, safe and refreshing….and back gate to the trail. Our Indoor/Outdoor restroom is fully enclosed and plumbed with hot water shower and flushing toilet. The concrete structure is for all camp guests.
