But Shiloh is now lost, removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch. Our RV and Tent Campsites are located in a grassy field next to dense woods. Electric and water hookups are included in the RV/Camper sites, but not the Tent Site. All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Our newly renovated restrooms on the property have toilets and one shower. A boardwalk takes you along the Cotee River to our two open air pavilions with several places to sit and enjoy nature. Cell phone service is not a problem, as we are not remote (although it sort of feels like we are when you are here) - we are 5 min from downtown New Port Richey, 2 minutes from groceries, gas, restaurants. This beautiful slice of Old Florida is named for the Pithlachascotee River that bends along the back side of the property. Pithlo is the Creek word meaning canoe, and chaskita means to dig or chop out, together signifying "place where canoes are chopped or dug out". Seminoles of this area used canoes dug out from the great cypress trees found along Florida rivers. From the 1980s until 2014, this property was owned by the Cotee River Lions Club. They held a popular monthly pancake breakfast fundraiser in the large pavilion along the river. We purchased this 4.9 acres of land in late 2019. It is now where we live and have a woodworking shop. It has been a magical place for us, with no shortage of wildlife, rich jungle forest, a winding narrow river, and even the occasion river otter sighting. We are grateful to all the humans who have occupied this place over the centuries before us for keeping it as nature intended it. It is our intention to do our part to conserve and protect its natural beauty as long as possible. We hope you find it to be as restful and rejuvenating as we do.

Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property. We think the property is lovely, and definitely want you to enjoy your camping experience!

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

!!!!’FREE KAYAK RENTALS!!!! 25 acre property with 5 acres tucked away behind oak and pine trees, cross fenced for camping . We breed miniature longhorn cattle, have plenty of farm animals, including donkeys, chickens, pigs and a horse. We are located close to many boat ramps that access the withlacochee and Rainbow River. Our lovely little town of Dunnellon hosts many restaurants on the river, unique shops and plenty of parks to visit. We have complementary high speed WIFI and full laundry room.

Weekend Trip to Camp Mack

Wonderful place! No playground, but still soooo much for the kids to do! Swimming pool, fishing, perfect for riding bikes, riding scooters, passing the football, enjoying nature, just being outside! 10/10 recommend and bring a golf cart if you have one (they are also available to rent). The Cowboy Cajun food truck (DELICIOUS) and camp store were wonderful! They had a raffle for a local girls softball team going on at the pavilion too! We will definitely be back and will tell everyone about Camp Mack!

Cute spot right across from the beach. Full hookups available. We had a good time going to Kennedy Space Center and eating at the local eatery's. Great spot to be close to everything. Our host kept in touch with us and gave great detailed instructions on getting there and hooked up. Will definitely be back!

This was a very quiet and clean campground. Surprisingly no mosquitoes at all over our stay. Bathrooms and pool were both very clean. it was fantastic having Lake Kissimmee State Park just a short bike ride away.

We loved our time at the Hippie Mermaid. The hosts were super responsive and the site was perfect. Our son loved the kayaks and having the docks to fish from. Very close (maybe 10 minute drive) to Weeki Wachee. We'd definitely return.

2 nights at Picturesque Mango Tango Estate

Matthew was great. It is a little tight getting into the spot but wonderful when you get there. I used the provided sewer hose which was the easiest hookup ever. My 25' water hose was not quite long enough but I could have moved my camper to make it work. Instead I went to a nearby store for an extension. This quiet campsite at the beautiful lake is close to shopping for anything you might need for supplies. It's the best of both worlds.

My daughters had a great time with the paddle boards and kayaks. It was a comfortable site for the RV. And the location was great as it was near everything needed. Will definitely be back a few more times as the river is so clear and so close to Roger’s park etc..

Camp Mack is a beautiful Old Florida fish camp! Our site was amongst the live oaks, quiet an peaceful. Staff and facilities were wonderful. It was relaxing to site along the water and watch fishermen and airboats coming and going. The camp store has everything you need, restrooms and showers are well maintained, and everyone is friendly! We did not use the pool, but it was very nice with a clubhouse and restrooms and showers. The Freshwater Tavern is within walking distance with food and beverages, was nice, and there is a food truck on the premises. We would definitely stay again!

Wow!!!! What a find! This place was a campers paradise! Everything was amazing! Perfect dock and cabana to relax on; with perfect views! The place is on a city street but felt very private. Backing in our 35 ft TT was a breeze. The Neighbor's were very pleasant also. The location is close enough to anything you may need out of Spring Hill. Kayaking up Weeki Wachee was super fun and it was easy to launch the kayaks and paddle boards right from the dock! We had so much fun even our TEENAGERS wanted to extend our stay another night! 😁

Camp Mack was great. We did the Alligator tour right from the park and seen lots of big and little gators. Well worth $50 per person. They also have a food truck that has excellent food, a small grocery store, golf cart and boat rentals. You won’t get bored. If you have bikes, bring them! We stayed over a week. Hubs only complaint was the internet, but they are digging cables in as we speak, so ask if that’s really important to you.

What a great place! The RV sites are nice with the hook-ups right next to the pads for easy set-up. The people are so nice and helpful. The surroundings are rustic looking, but clean and enjoyable. I will definitely be back.
