There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, beautiful southerly view, wood-burning stove, spacious sitting area, and opportunity for rejuvenating & relaxing. We're in the International Dark Sky community. The stars are magnificent. You will be amazed by the vast expanse of the universe. The Great Sand Dunes National Park - the tallest and most amazing sand dunes in North America - are visible from almost everywhere on our property. Look to the south to see this alternate view. Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. We had the absolute best time at the canvas tents! The animals were the highlight of our stay, the walk to the river was amazing as well. While we were there, a momma cow actually had her baby, which was such a special and unforgettable experience. The setting is peaceful, the tents are cozy, and you really feel connected to nature. Todd and Belinda are truly wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The tent was a perfect size and it was nice having it be on a platform so it wasn’t right on the ground. There were chairs inside and outside with a small table inside and a picnic table outside just like in the pictures. The listing says no fires but there is a propane fire but it didn’t work for us. I noticed one of their tent sites did have a functioning propane fire going so I’m not sure if they’re not allowed or if it was just out. Otherwise the site was beautiful, well kept and cool to see the cows right next to us! Bathrooms were clean and a short 2 min. walk away. They were communicative and recommended some restaurants in town for us!

This place worked well for what I was looking for. The tent is spacious and features a queen bed, a table, and a toilet (with a trash bag that you will need to take with you). The anarondak chairs are very comfortable and perfect for stargazing. There is not a lot of light pollution, so the stars are wonderful! You will need to bring all of your camping supplies with you, as it is more of a bare-bones spot, but plenty of space to set up a "kitchen" inside the tent, or outside on the picnic table. It's about 14 minutes from Salida, which is convenient. The owner has a good packing list and advice- I would follow it. Mainly, temperatures can drop significantly at night in this climate, so be sure to bring warm clothes and blankets. My pup and I had a relaxing evening.
