Tucked up close to Pikes Peak in all her glory! No one else around you! 100%  Nature.  You, STARS, deer, elk, eagles. Sleep in the cabin or under the stars in your tent. Your choice. Where is this? Convenient from Denver and Colorado Springs. Approx 50 miles (75 min) from I-25 and Hwy 24 in Colorado Springs. Approx 30 miles from Mueller State Park. South of Florissant National Fossil Beds and NE of Canon City.  Details: 100+ acres of private land that borders BLM so hundreds of additional acres available with amazing views of the west side of Pikes Peak. **I've been a HipCamp host for years, but I took a break to care for family so there's a brief time gap in reviews. Voted a Top HipCamp Colorado Site in 2018.** Cabin: Sleeps 5. Small hunting cabin that can sleep two in twin beds down stairs, 3 twin beds upstairs, couch opens to a sleeper if more beds are needed. Carry in your own water and propane for camping stove. No well; no power. Total "primitive" cabin; you have a roof, windows, wood stove, cookware and tableware, simple yet clean cabin, counter tops and cook stove available. Owner will communicate with you to make sure this is a good fit before owner accepts the reservation. Allow time for that in the reservation process.    On Holiday Weekends, only three day reservations will be accepted. Incredible property!! Love how isolated we felt out there - plenty of room for lawn games and quick access to hikes/rafting in the area. The cabin was even nicer than pictured.

We love seclusion when we get away and this was exactly what we were looking for! Accurate descriptions: off grid, clean cabin. Need high clearance vehicle to access. We left it better for the next camper!

Absolute solitude

This property is a beautiful hidden gem with amazing night guys, absolute solitude and responsive host. The cabin was larger than I expected with 2 beds in the loft, 2 beds on the main floor and a couch in the living room next to the wood stove. The wood stove heats up fast and provides house of heat without needing to reload and the propane burners for Coleman stove are perfect for cooking. Just bring some battery powered string lights for lighting at night and a headlamp. There are good hiking options on the property and the adjacent BLM lands.

Keli’s cabin is amazing. It’s perfect for glamping and enjoying nature away from everybody. We wanted to be in peace for a couple of days so we decided to give it a shot even with the bad weather but it was definitely worth it. It depends on what kind of phone do you use and what kind of phone service but ours was working pretty well for making a phone call and enjoying youtube decently. Road to get there is kinda tricky but we pulled thru. If you have a better car for offroad it might be even easier. Keli’s gonna give you exact directions and she’s gonna make sure you feel comfortable with the conditions. She is an amazing host and she makes sure you enjoy your stay so you don’t have to worry about that part! Because of her we’re looking forward to exploring a lot of other places!!!

We loved our time here. Our kids from 6 months old to 13 years old played, explored, covered themselves in dirt, watched beautiful clouds and stars, spotted bunnies, found bones, and had experiences they won’t forget . Some thought I was crazy to wish for ten days without electricity or water but I am so happy we did it. We didn’t miss our phones and by around 5 days had begun to forget the stresses of work and life. Truly a transformative break. While we did leave the cabin for outside adventures our favorite times were spent there. The air smells fragrant like pine and sage. The sound is silent many times except for the breeze. The days are hot but never wishing for air conditioning and the nights were cool. What is nice about this place compared to other options I was considering is how remote it is (in a good way - it’s your temporary own piece of wilderness). Also the host is wonderful, helpful, and shared in our excitement and happiness at our experiences.

We had a wonderful time in Keli's cabin! It is an excellent option for those who want more comfort than sleeping in a tent but don't mind the lack of amenities. I was happy to have the option to sleep in a tent outside while my kids slept in the cabin. Best of all was having a huge piece of beautiful land to ourselves - hiking and camping in Colorado is getting more and more crowded so that felt quite luxurious! Keli was extremely helpful and communicative in terms of preparing us for the stay and also giving us tips while we were there, including even coaching me through a hike when we got lost for a little bit :).

Keli was most helpful with all concerning a positive stay! The drive into the cabin is amazingly beautiful and private, wild flowers abound. The cabin itself is a nice clean but somewhat primitive structure, which serves well for cooking and sleeping from the elements. The land is beautiful and at the top of the drive the view is amazing and also where cell service is best! We really enjoyed the space, privacy and nighthawks feeding at sunset.

This was our second time staying at the cabin and we had a great time again! Keli was responsive and helpful and the site was great. We had a great time sliding down the small snow covered hill in front of the cabin! We look forward to staying at the cabin again soon!

I can't recommend this place enough. Really amazing experience and gracious host. The cabin is very accommodating and cozy. There is plenty of property to explore, and hundreds of acres beyond in the blm land that borders. You could stay here for weeks.

Comfortable off-grid cabin

Keli's place is exactly as described - a rustic, off-grid cabin, with fab pot-belly stove which kept us warm at night and in the mornings. Well equipped with cutlery and crockery, as well as cleaning supplies, making it easy to leave it in the same state we found it - neat & tidy. Lots of camp chairs and outside picnic bench + rockers to sit in the sun. The property is gorgeous to hike, great to explore, and 4x4 can go well into it for picnics or to get some lovely views. Would highly recommend.

Spent 9/20-9/23 out there. Keli was perfect! Cabin was perfect! It was just what we needed and wanted. Spent 3 days 2 nights out there. Cabin was clean, no issues with bugs or animals. Felt safe and would highly recommend to anybody!

Where to begin?! First of all, Keli is an absolutely fabulous host and have clear communication from the moment we booked her space until we left the site. A perfectly simple cabin set in, what seems like, miles if isolated wilderness. We loved every moment we spent at the cabin. We hope to book this site again in the future!

A really cool rustic, keyword: primitive, cabin on a gorgeous piece of land surrounded by other gorgeous pieces of land. My daughters love the dry creek beds. Great wood-burning stove for heat if you need it, lots of space to just chill. We played frisbee in the wild.

This place is amazing. Super secluded and very quiet. Nice little hikes from the door and a reservoir that’s a 10 min drive from the tiny home. Keli was very helpful and makes the place feel cozy. This property is magic! We started planning a return trip shortly after we arrived. The seclusion was a much needed reprieve from the hustle bustle of city life and the views did not disappoint. We spent the day exploring the property and ventured up to Eleven Mile Reservoir to kayak and fish. We enjoyed cooking on grill outside and playing games by headlamp. Waking up with the sunrise and starting the day with coffee on the porch will be my favorite memory from this place. That and the stargazing—stunning night sky views! Leading up to our stay, Keli provided lots of detailed information so we were prepared for a weekend off the grid and she was very available for questions. Pro tip: stay for at the very least a couple of nights. My only regret was not having more time to spend here :) also, Keli provides great directions but definitely take the time to plan your route before, you cannot rely on Google Maps as you will likely not have cell service. Thank you Keli for sharing this special place!

What a beautiful and remote camping adventure! The property is situated on a beautiful peace of land that offers you complete remoteness and privacy, yet still close enough for numerous day adventures, including hiking, trail running and mountain biking. This is a hidden gem, and definitely worth the stay.

Keli and her camp were everything we needed to get out of the city for a week. We spent a day hiking around/exploring the property and filled the rest of our time with Keli's nearby recommendations. Grateful for the 4-wheel drive vehicle as entering the property is steep and well worn and the wonderful hospitality
