The 14-acre campground and RV resort is conveniently located near I-70 and Highway 6, directly off the Fruit and Wine Byway of North River Road. We are only one mile from historic downtown Palisade and located near the world-renowned mountain bike trails, wineries, orchards, and festivals of western Colorado.

Choose your site along a vineyard, down along the river, or up on the bluff looking over the river and surrounding peach orchards, and encounter a one-of-a-kind camping experience.

Fruita By The Lake

The property is a mix of living quarters and a business with a beautiful 2-acre lake accessible in the summer.

Hipcampers will be camping on a 10-acre property mixed-used and will have their own little piece of land and privacy to enjoy.

They will find endless activities surrounding our property while enjoying their stay. There are miles of mountain and road bike trails easily accessed from the campsite.  Rafting, golf, swimming, fishing, hiking, off-roading, dirt bike/ATV trails, Colorado National Monument, and the list goes on and on within a short distance. The campsites are just 2 minutes from downtown Fruita, offering easy access to good restaurants, great coffee shops a drink. You will find a grocery store, pharmacy, and gas station in the same area.

To consider:

Our place is great but not for everyone. We have three convenient sites, all with electricity and water and one with sewage.

They all have great views and are very close to the town of Fruita. Every hipcampers can enjoy the beach and the pond between mid-May and October when its full. Swimming not recommended!

The property is used by THE GONDOLA SHOP, which restores ski gondolas. Monday to Friday, you might hear some light noise and see employees walking around. For that reason and the potential hazard WE DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN on our property. We ask that all vehicles drive no faster than 10 miles per hour for the same reason.

We will consider a group of campers or mix camper/tents roof tents as long as you have your own bathroom to share. Please email us with any requests you might have. We are open to discussing any inquiries. Between May and October, when our lake is full and usable, our place is great for gatherings and a big BBQ.

Camp #1 / 30amps + 110V (NO WATER). We have a spot on the property for you to fill in your water tank, but there is no water directly at the site. This site is on an old concrete pad and will need some leveling. This site is close to the tenant's house. You might see some chickens running around, but your camper will face the opposite way, and you will get your privacy.  We accept campers class B and C ONLY, max 27 feet for this camp. NO TRAVEL TRAILERS. It would be best to park nose 1st to access the electric post and back up to get out. This site has lots

Palisade by Moonlight

We live on a lovely 2 acres in East Orchard Mesa. ( which is approximately 8 miles from downtown Palisade)  Our property is adjacent to peach orchards and vineyards and has a gorgeous view of the Grand Mesa.  There are lawns and gardens and a landscaped area to enjoy a campfire 🔥  In 2010, The Wedding House venue began hosting weddings. Our home has a past! Formerly a church, and built in 1910, the house was brought into the property in the mid 60’s and was thoroughly remodeled.Learn more about this land:Located in the East Orchard Mesa area of Palisade.(about 8 miles and 15 min. from both downtown Palisade and Grand Junction!  We are surrounded by Peaches/Vineyards and have an awesome view of the Grand Mesa. Our property is also a wedding venue with lawns and open skies, fire pit area, bbq grill,  porta potty and hand washing station. Close by shooting range and ATV BLM land. A favorite road biking route through the rolling hills of Palisade Wine country. 
You cannot beat the sunsets, rainbows, and mountain views. 
The “chapel” can be a place to have an outdoor meal with tables and chairs available.

The home has had major remodels done on it.

The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction.

The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June.

We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja.

Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests.

But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine.

port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April.

port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you are here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away.

The first two pets are included at no additional cost. For any additional pets beyond the first two, there is a fee of $10 per pet, per night. Please make sure to add the Pet fee extra accordingly. 

Delta Hobby Farm

We are a working hobby farm, complete with orchard, goats, pasture, and yurts. We love this slice of Western Colorado beauty... so close to the Grand Mesa, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and the Uncompaghre Plateau. So many outdoor possibilities!  We build a brand new shower house with flushing toilet to share between all guests as we also have 2 yurts. We also welcome pets that don't chase the free range chickens and are on a leash when out n about. 
We have recently installed a Pergola for shade! Tent camping is in side the square (if you'd like!) as its lined with peegravel.  There is a gate at the entrance of the field and there is a horse fence around the field is twine, so please use the gate! The share shower and bath house has on-demand hot water and a flushing toilet. We encourage all guests to be tidy and efficient as the yurts also share the same bath house. 

Bear Family Ranch RV and Camping

PLEASE CHECK IN BEFORE 9 PM. We are less than 2 miles from I-70, We are just outside of the really small town of Mack, Colorado. We are 2 miles from the Colorado River, Horse Thief Canyon, and many other outdoor activities. Here you will find world class mountain biking. Bear Family Ranch is a secluded and hidden ranch, you cannot see the ranch from the roadway. You will see incredible views of the Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, and Mount Garfield. When the sun sets, shinning its sun rays on the Colorado Monument the shading of the monument brings the monument to life. 

There are 3 full hook-up RV sites and 8 dry WALK-IN 8'X8' raised pad camping sites (the walk is roughly 200 feet). Walk around the seasonal pond, explore the property, hike a mile to the Mack Wash. You can mountain bike around the property. It's quiet with birds flying and chirping. This is a very private and secluded location with lots of space! Bring your own camping toilet or use our outhouse with a camping toilet inside. Because it's a working ranch, we prefer to familiarize you and your guests to the ranch and show you the route to the site as we have exposed irrigation, irrigation ditches, and a pond. We prefer not to fish you out of the pond. LOL

LIMIITED SEWER (If you need to dump grey or black from your RV tank, please help us keep our leach field from being saturated, If you need to dump grey or black water from your RV, we recommend the really nice rest area in Fruita. The Colorado Welcome Center Rest Area is off of I-70 at EXIT 19, which has a FREE dump station. We are on a leach field, no paper products including toilet paper into the sewer, please and thank you. We must check you in, to familiarize you and your guests to the Ranch. Ater check-in you are our guests; you may come and go as you need. We respect your privacy, but if you need anything please contact us or go to the main house. Being a family ranch, we are always working and vigilant of our animals and the security of the Bear Family Ranch.

Horse Mountain Hideaway

We invite you to stay at Horse Mountain Hideaway, a big rig friendly HipCamp located just one mile from beautiful downtown Palisade, CO, at the very east end of East Orchard Mesa. We live off grid on 10 acres, and you can enjoy the views looking down towards the valley, or up towards the Grand Mesa. As avid RVers ourselves, we wanted to offer self-contained BIG RIG friendly sites, out in the country, with very little road traffic and fabulous dark night skies to enjoy the stars. 

We are just half a mile to Talbott’s Farm Store / Talbott’s Tap Room. They often have live music events and food trucks on weekends, and you can enjoy a lovely walk or bicycle ride there. There are numerous fruit stands and wineries to the west on East Orchard Mesa, or go down to Palisade and enjoy the many events, farm stands, breweries, wineries and charming downtown area.

Our site is a level, well graveled area, and is BIG RIG friendly! Back-in, with room for slide outs and back decks too. Our lane is a maintained private gravel road. This is a boondocking site, for self-contained RVs, with no hookups available. 

We can also accommodate travelers with horses for an additional fee, with corrals and a paddock to rest or exercise your animals. We are close to public BLM land should you choose to take a longer ride. The site is Pet friendly, but since we do have a small farm, we request that pets are leashed.

Junction West RV Park

Whether you just need a place to rest for the night or you want to explore the spectacular natural and cultural attractions that Grand Junction has to offer – you will appreciate our extra wide, pull-through sites with full hook-ups and picnic tables. Each site has plenty of room for slide-outs and tow vehicles. Those who stay longer will enjoy the spotless bathrooms with tiled showers and private dressing areas, the air-conditioned laundry room, free high-speed wireless internet access (WiFi), our playground, and all the other amenities.

On-site recreational activities for the entire family include a playground with slides, climbers, swings, and a rock-climbing wall for the kids.

Potawatomi Trading Post

We are a Native American–owned and operated trading post currently working with four tribes to help promote and preserve their cultures.

Since the Post is a non-profit and I receive no salary, we are unable to hire additional staff. For this reason, we must have an ETA to ensure I am here when you arrive. All purchases help maintain the Post, and all contributions go directly to tribal elders in need.

Our trading post is located across the road from the Colorado River in the Vinelands of Palisade, Colorado. We offer Native-made goods and natural health products.

Only a short drive (≈2.5 Miles) or bike ride to Palisade, less then a mile to vineyards and wine tasting.&nbsp; BookCliff Vinyards, Vines 79 Winery, Savage Spectrum Winery all within 1.5 miles.&nbsp; Clark Family Orchards, Juicy Acers, Ball Fruit, and Cunningham Orchards&nbsp;also with 1.5 miles if you are looking for fresh fruit.&nbsp; A put in to the Colorado river is also close by (≈2 miles)  if you are looking for a leisurely float.  Palisade Rim Trail&nbsp;and Mount Garfield trail are also near by for those looking for a hike or bike adventure.&nbsp; The newly opened Palisade Plunge mountain bike trail&nbsp;which takes you from over 10000' to 4700' exits just about 2 miles below the camp site if you are looking for a thrill.A rustic camp site with privacy and access great night sky viewing and amazing sunsets and sunrises.

Stephens Ranch

Jake Stephens Performance Horses is a working horse ranch. It's located in Glade Park, Colorado, which you have to travel through the Colorado National Monument and a Red Rock Tunnel to get to. The 70-acre ranch is located in the middle of the funnest and most beautiful places on the planet. Activities include&nbsp;horseback riding through the mountains, canoeing on one of the reservoirs, mountain biking one of the numerous trails, hiking to see some of the most awesome wildlife anywhere, or just camping in one of the cabins or tent camping on the side of a beautiful Red Rock canyon. There's not a cooler place to stay.&nbsp;Learn more about this land:Come stay in one of our two Colorado cozy cabins. They both have wood burning stoves, cable TV and microwaves, and are very unique. The larger cabin now has a&nbsp; finished bathroom complete with a very unique all rock shower,&nbsp;&nbsp;and kitchen,&nbsp;&nbsp;We offer a sunset horseback ride in the mountains or a private horse riding lesson in our arena or round pen, or you can go on a mountain bike ride on Red Rock to Rattlesnake Arches (which is the largest collection of arches in the world, besides the Utah delicate arches), above the ranch on a beautiful aspen-covered alpine trail by the reservoirs, or go on a hike anywhere! Or just sleep in! In a very private cabin or a tent on the lower property that you can pitch by a beautiful 100 ft Red Rock canyon and seasonal waterfall!&nbsp;&nbsp;

Desert Moon Campground and RV Park

Setup your tent and enjoy some respite before and after exploring the beautiful canyons and desert landscapes that surround the Desert Moon and beyond. We have 2 showers, bathrooms, potable water, picnic tables, and wifi on site. There is also a covered seating area for guest use by our Inn. There are 5 campsites total.

Please note, the Union Pacific Railroad is right across the street, with trains passing by multiple times a day and night. There will be noise at night.

Campsites are relatively close together so you will likely see other campers during your stay. Also, there is not a lot of shade on the property so be prepared.

Thompson Springs began as a railroad stop on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in the mid to late 1800's. It soon became a shipping point and community center for local farmers, cattle ranchers and sheepherders. It is now a ghost-town with a population of 50 people. 

The Desert Moon has a true wild western past. The old dancehall on the property, The Cactus Caberet, once served as the town bar and brothel. We are currently in the process renovating the dancehall into a venue for live music and retreats. 

There are 8-12 staff members living on site in their personal RV's at all times. We are a small community of artists, builders, and adventurers. We are constantly working to improve this property that came under our ownership in July of 2020. Feel free to come say hello and ask us about what we are building here!

Thompson Springs is a true "ghost town" with no retail or restaurants except a 7-11 off the I-70 exit. The towns of Moab and Green River are only a half hour drive away and are full of regional and eclectic restaurants and shops.

The Desert Moon is located just four miles from the Sego Canyon Rock Art in the Bookcliffs featuring pictograph and petroglyph panels from three different Native American cultures: Barrier, Fremont, and Ute. Be sure to check them out!

There are miles of off-road trails accessible from our property. Some require a 4x4 vehicle or dirtbike, but many are well maintained enough for almost any vehicle.

The Bangs Canyon Trailhead lies at the heart of the Bangs Canyon Special Recreation Management Area and provides access to several different trails and recreation opportunities. These include: hiking and rock climbing in Rough Canyon and Ladder Canyon. 

he Ribbon Trail is a 10.8 kilometer lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Grand Junction, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.  

You are welcome to use the tables near the greenhouse to visit or eat. 

GECKO GULCH--MOUNTAIN BIKE HEAVEN

Learn more about this land:CAMP ON 35 ACRES OF PRIVATE MOUNTAIN BIKE HEAVEN! Gecko Gulch is a single, private campsite near the popular North Fruita Desert 18 Road mountain bike area and the famous Kokopelli Trail.  And if that’s not enough, after a day of shredding single track, you can return to your campsite and have 35 acres of desert hills all to yourself to continue the ride! When you’ve had enough of the bike, you can relax in your 8’x12’ cabin with two comfy chairs and room to hang a hammock or stretch out two of your sleeping bags if you don’t want to pitch a tent. A covered porch is the perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a well-earned beer. There’s a picnic table with a shade sail. The open-air shower stall lets you hang a solar bag to rinse off the dust while you admire an unending desert view. Then start a campfire and roast some marshmallows while you wait for the stars to come out.Gecko Gulch’s 35 acres are surrounded by public BLM land on two sides so the desert really is your playground.  This is a dry campsite with no electricity or water, but there is a portable toilet and trash can. There’s enough flat area to set up a couple of tents. A small amount of firewood is provided.&nbsp; Gecko Gulch is not suitable for mega-large RVs. The cabin has no heat/air conditioning, but two screened windows open to catch a breeze and mosquito netting is on the door.If you’re tired of camping in a crowded, noisy campground with neighbors on all sides, if you want privacy and incredible views, then Gecko Gulch is waiting!
