We began this venture in 2012 by purchasing 35 acres overlooking a 7000 acre homestead. We are located on the beautiful eastern plains of Colorado southeast of Denver. Rolling hills dotted with Ponderosa pines that encourage wildlife to settle in. Pikes Peak, Longs Peak and Mount Evans all visible on clear days. We have 35 acres and raise alpaca’s, chickens, cats and dogs as well as a large garden. We are totally off grid and enjoy life in the home my husband built using trees he cut down and milled on his sawmill. We lived on the property in a 400sq ft cottage while building the house and this cottage is now available to rent. Water is available outside and the outhouse is just a few steps away. It comes equipped with a woodturning stove you can use to cook on. We added the Bijou Tree House to our options a couple years ago! It is a one room cabin (sleeps 2) with an incredible picture window that frames Pikes Peak beautifully. It is nestle among some old Ponderosa Pines; sports a cute but tiny wood burning stove; bar table in front of the window; deck with seating and a propane camp chef 2 burner stove. A hammock is available for use and private outhouse just a few feet away. Across the gulley is the new Sawmill Cabin built under the canopy of Jim's sawmill. It is small, and can sleep 3 with a unique bunk over a queen sized platform bed. A small deck, fire pit all under a covered open space. More kids? Bring a tent! there’s room! Numerous tent sites are available all within easy walking to your car. An outhouse is close by. We love sharing our story and our home and the beautiful place God has gifted us with people from all over the world and hope to host you as well. Come Camp; and relax. Please contact host prior to booking to make sure your arrangement will work. We do not allow extra tents on the property without prior permission and paid fees. In the woods right by the tent you’ll find a private playground complete with: swings and slide, trampoline, spinning rope tunnels, ninja course, climbing dome and a zip-line. In the winter there’s a great area for sledding.  We provide everything you need for the camping experience. There is a a set of dishes for 10, silverware, all cooking utensils, cast iron pots and pans, a coffee percolator, trash bags, dish soap, outdoor kitchen prep area, large 3 burner camp stove, propane, (5) camp chairs, bear box, warm down comforters, lanterns / solar lights, board games for both kids & adults.  The only thing you should plan to bring is your own firewood, water, sleeping bag or sheets, your pillow and food! PLEASE NOTE: Person reserving the campsite must sign a separate rental agreement. All adults must sign a liability waiver for themselves and their minor children. Learn more about this land:We have almost 40 acres of beautiful land that is scattered trees in a field and more forested areas. We also have mountain views depending on where you stay! We are right next door to the Pineries Open Space which is a 9 mile trail that you can hike, bike, or horse ride on. It also connects (by crossing a road) to Section 16 which is another 4 mile trail. You can bring your own horses and for a $50 fee we will set up corral panels for your horses to stay. We have farm animals that will be wondering about the land at times. We have water up at our home that you can use to fill up your campers with water or any water containers you need to fill. A camp bucket toilet will be available for campers use. At certain times we offer farm experiences at additional charges. There is a small corner store a couple of miles away, a local feed store where you can buy hay for tour horses, a little local coffee shop and small cafe as well. Come enjoy the country life just minutes from town! Because we also use our land to graze our animals, we ask that only one vehicle be parked at the site at a time. We have a place for parking additional vehicles if you have more than 1 vehicle.

Just got back from an incredible stay at this A-Frame, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The cabin itself is cozy, beautifully designed, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway, which is exactly what you want when you escape into the outdoors. But what truly made the trip stand out was the host, Stephanie. She was absolutely amazing. Her communication was quick and friendly, she gave clear directions, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests’ experience. The location was perfect for a quiet weekend of camping vibes mixed with cabin comfort. Whether we were relaxing on the deck, enjoying the view, or winding down inside after a day of exploring, it all felt like the ideal getaway. Highly recommend staying here! We’ll definitely be back!

Our second annual father/son camping trip was a huge success. We had the whole property to ourselves. Each year our favorite part is exploring the boulders at the top of the property. The dozen or so turkeys that wandered through the property was the icing on the cake!

We had an amazing time staying at the cabin. The cabin was well stocked with propane and water, and the power station looked very nice too! The cabin itself is very cute, comfortable, has a fantastic view, and definitely feels private and secluded from the rest of the grounds. Stephanie was extremely responsive and eager to help, and was able to secure a sturdy ladder for us to get to the bed mere minutes after the request. The cabin definitely still has some construction items remaining, but is more than finished enough to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time and will most definitely be coming back next year!!

My family and I loved camping at Stephanie's Sunrise Campsite. We chose Site 1 from the reviews and it didn't disappoint. It was private and had spectacular views. The bathroom facility was clean and was thoughtfully stocked. We even had a surprise visitor in the morning, a majestic buck exploring. We would love to come back again in the spring.

This Magical Treehouse and land were everything my family needed and more!! We could not have asked for a more pleasant and peaceful retreat! Marni gave us a rundown of the facilities, and we couldn't have imagined a better stay. From the whimsical hand-crafted beauty of the actual treehouse around "Pal", to the amenities (including games/fun, cooking utilities/supplies, Wi-Fi/TV accommodations and plenty of warmth and cozy blankets and pillows, even full working bathroom facilities), down to the quiet starlit nights including a fire pit on the patio to keep warm while star-gazing! My son especially loved visiting and interacting with the extremely affectionate and friendly free roaming animals we got to interact with and became especially fond of, even giving our own little names to each, as they greeted us kindly several times each day. Only complaint was that we couldn't afford a longer stay!.. as each of us were sad to leave and say goodbye to the relaxing and intimate natured feel of the place, and our very welcoming and accommodating hosts. We felt secure even in the peaceful darkness around us knowing the host's dogs were looking out for us into the night. We will definitely be returning next season for a longer stay if welcomed, as Marni/Frank were on call for any questions or needs, we had throughout the stay, and were exceptionally kind to us as well. Thank you for such a pleasant experience to get us "away from it all" and the delight of bringing nature closer! XOX

Great spot close to the city but it feels like you are in the middle of a Forrest. There were some planes you could hear from the airforce base nearby, but I'm not sure if that is a regular occurrence or one time thing.

EXACTLY what we were looking for. So peaceful, quiet, and absolutely beautiful and clean. Weather was a little iffy while we were there. We were at campsite #4 - highly recommend. You can’t see any other campsites, there’s a trail with some beautiful scenery at the end, and you have soooo much space for all of your stuff! Read the instructions on how to get there three times over. It’s a little confusing, and the terrain is rough so I would make sure to bring some type of 4 wheel drive. We took my husbands truck, but my sedan wouldn’t have made it.
