Located 2.5 miles from the famous Paint Mines Interpretive Park and Trails and 4 miles from the El Paso County Fairgrounds that hold many events all summer long. The town of Calhan is just 4 miles north of this property. There, you will find the local grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, and dollar store for any of your needs. Enjoy seclusion and beautiful views of the rolling hillside and wildlife all while being sheltered amongst our mature trees. All of our campsites are tucked in the trees to give you privacy and shelter from the Colorado breeze. Bring your bikes and ride to the paint mines or explore the property on our trails and stay close. We have the best tasting well water so feel free to fill up your water jugs at the hydrant closest to the chicken coops!! Come see our dream in the works and soak up some serenity! Dogs are welcome, however they must be dog friendly, trained and well behaved. They are free to roam but chasing calves and causing trouble with other animals will not be tolerated. We also have dogs, but will do our best to have them put up when you arrive with adequate communication about you ETA . No bathroom facilities at the moment. Also, no fires unless approved by us! When you arrive, we will happily check you in and direct you to your camp site. Please feel free to ask us about anything you may need, but we will not bother you otherwise! We hope to see you soon! We are just 5.4 miles from the NEW Ford Amphitheatre venue. 3 miles from our NEW grocery store. We are on the property ourselves. We are right off a main road with easy access to town, yet you will feel you are in the woods surrounded by nature. We don't have hookups but we do have a water pump and a basic electrical outlet if you need. There's a large firepit that you're welcome to use if there isn't a fire ban in place. The property is fenced and the spot is level. If you need a bit more privacy or a place for additional guests, we have a small cabin that is also for rent on the property! I had an incredible stay at this cabin! The view alone is absolutely breathtaking—perfect for relaxing mornings and peaceful evenings. Inside, everything felt thoughtfully designed and had a cozy yet luxurious touch, adding to the overall high-end feel of the space. The cabin was also very well stocked with camping essentials, which made our stay easy and stress-free. On top of that, the drive from Denver was simple and convenient, making it a perfect getaway without being too far out.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting without sacrificing comfort!

Actually made a mistake in both the wrong day, and she was kind enough to allow me to stay on a separate day than I had originally input on the app. The place was amazing and squeaky clean. I needed to rest, and it was just what I needed. I’m excited to check out some of the other spaces she hosts.

There were some utensils and lots of blankets, so everything felt really comfortable. The view is breathtaking and the stars at night are just unreal. ✨

My husband and I had a really great night at the sunshine tent! I will say, definitely don’t plan to go when it’s retold like we did. The host provides a lovely propane heater, but it can only do so much. The hot tub was a wonderful sight and was very comfortable and clean. The space has a small, private fence around it which makes it that much nicer. We had a very sweet cat visitor with us all night snuggling up to keep warm. Would absolutely recommend!

The land was gorgeous waking up to windmills surrounding you is definitely an incredible experience. The hosts were just incredible too! I won’t lie this was our first time car camping so we were ROOKIES! We got stuck in the snow, and when we gave up trying to shovel ourselves out, we texted our hosts and he they immediately came and got us out. They are incredible people not only did they help us but the entire time they were so gracious and kind!

Just got back from an incredible stay at this A-Frame, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The cabin itself is cozy, beautifully designed, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway, which is exactly what you want when you escape into the outdoors.
But what truly made the trip stand out was the host, Stephanie. She was absolutely amazing. Her communication was quick and friendly, she gave clear directions, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests’ experience.
The location was perfect for a quiet weekend of camping vibes mixed with cabin comfort. Whether we were relaxing on the deck, enjoying the view, or winding down inside after a day of exploring, it all felt like the ideal getaway.

It’s just off the freeway, so it made for a nice quick stop. The amenities were top-notch. Perfect place to reset after traveling the road. Our kids enjoy the playground and play room. We used their laundromat which is available 24hrs. The showers were warm and kept clean. Overall it was a great experience.

Jamie is very gracious, knowledgeable and kind. This location is right next to the Paint Mines and a great place to say after your hike. The location is very quiet and great for star and moon gazing.
This site also sits adjacent to a wind(mill) farm which is a great unique landscape. Very nice, safe place to stay!
