This private alpine meadow sits at approximately 11,000 feet, at the base of two 14,000-foot peaks, on 160 secluded acres bordering National Forest. The camp rests in a hidden sunken meadow surrounded by ancient forest, alpine streams, and some of the oldest living bristlecone pines in the world — trees so remarkable they have appeared in Ansel Adams photography.
At night, you may hear great horned owls in the trees, coyotes calling at sunset, and sometimes moose moving quietly through the meadow. During the day, the air smells of pine, summer grass, and cold mountain water. Sit beside the stream with your feet on warm granite while the wind moves through 3,000-year-old trees overhead. It is peaceful, wild, and difficult to describe until you are here.
The site is built for guests who want to disconnect from crowds and reconnect with nature without giving up comfort. Tucked into the meadow is a cozy insulated A-frame shelter with large windows, a skylight, soft solar lighting for nighttime ambiance, a locking door, and a full-size bed. It is simple, warm, secure, and comfortable — a perfect basecamp after exploring the high country.
From the property, you have access to miles of 4x4 roads, ATV trails, hiking routes, wildlife viewing, photography, stargazing, and quiet time by the stream. Spend the day hiking alpine ridges, exploring the forest, reading on the deck, or doing nothing at all.
Amenities include a wood deck, waterproof awning, picnic table, BBQ grill, bear box, oversized stone fire pit, and simple backcountry-style toilet setup.
Altitude note: this camp is around 11,000 feet, so guests should be prepared for high-elevation conditions, cooler nights, stronger sun, and changing mountain weather.

Oh and quite possibly our rooster crowing ;) Hike into the National Forest off the property. Guided hikes can also be arranged for an additional fee. Or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet!
Plenty of other hiking trails nearby, creeks and Slaughterhouse Gulch for those that love a good 4WD adventure.
A propane fire-pit will be provided for you so you can still enjoy a nice campfire. A propane heater is also available for chilly nights or winter camping. The Greenhouse also includes a camp stove, a percolator for making coffee or tea, minimal cookware and silverware. Potable water will be provided along with coffee and tea. Fresh eggs from our chickens can also be made available upon request for a small fee.
Cots and a hammock are available for use in the Greenhouse, but you will have to bring your own sleeping mats, sleeping bags and pillows. Sleeping mats and sleeping bags on the floor are also an option if you choose. Picnic tables are close to the Greenhouse for enjoying time outdoors.
The Glamping in the Aspens Tent has a wood burning stove in it that will be available starting later season 2024. Firewood for the wood stove will be provided for you. Just outside the tent is a picnic table with BBQ grill and propane fire pit. There is a porch area with outdoor kitchen and a queen sized bed inside the tent. A comfy dog bed is also included.
A composting toilet is available for use. No showers currently available (Bath House coming soon).
Well behaved dogs are allowed, however, they must be on a leash or under voice command.
There are 2 dogs that live on the property as well as chickens, turkeys, and a cat. All will be contained so as not to disturb (except for the occasional rooster crow).

We have a 100+ acre working ranch with access to the Arkansas river for fishing, kayaking or just dipping your feet in. We have great views of the Collegiate Peaks 14ers and the Harvard trail is just up the hill. Agata was an extremely great communicator. The stay and check in was flawless. The property is peaceful and beautiful. This was a much needed getaway from the summer heat. Tim has created something really special here. His land is surrounded by beautiful forest in a quiet, tucked-away area. Tim has conceptualized and built each campsite by hand, with level tent pads on wood chips he’s chipped himself. We stayed in one of his glamping sites. Comfortable and cozy. And Tim provided water, a cooler, ice packs, chairs, a propane fire pit, a camp stove, utensils and cleaning supplies, and more. He couldn’t have been more hospitable and made our trip easy. He’s also highly knowledgeable of hiking options in the area. If considering staying here, I would only note that you will have to walk uphill to get to your site, but if you’re capable it is absolutely worth it! Tim also has wagons that make it easier to get your supplies to the site. Thank you, Tim, for an incredible stay. We can’t wait to return!

Weekend Trip to Whispering Pines Glamping
We came all the way from Charlotte, NC, to Fairplay, CO, and this stay couldn’t have been more perfect. We brought our dog along, and to make the trip even more special, we got engaged here! The glamping site was cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The hosted family was incredibly welcoming and had everything you could possibly need. Everything was spotless and well thought out, making it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. There are also plenty of great hikes nearby, which made it the perfect home base for exploring. We made memories we’ll never forget and would absolutely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Gondola Village at Holy Cross
We had a wonderful stay at Gondola Village - would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique backcountry adventure. The hike in was beautiful and enjoyable - about 3 miles, taking us around 3 hours because we took our time, soaked in the scenery, and chatted with a few friendly hikers along the way. There were plenty of opportunities to collect and filter water from the creeks, so we realized that carrying 2–3 liters each from the trailhead wasn’t really necessary.
Once we arrived, the area felt peaceful and remote. We enjoyed exploring the remnants of Holy Cross City, visiting Cleveland Lake, and filtering water from the nearby streams. We brought all of our own gear, but it was nice to find the hut well stocked with useful supplies, and the outdoor shower was a great bonus after a day of hiking.
One tip for future guests: when you arrive, open the windows and screens for a few minutes to let the moths out before settling in. Once it gets dark, keeping the lights off helps avoid attracting more. The views from the hut are absolutely incredible and made for a memorable place to relax.
The only unexpected part of our trip was being awakened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday by a group on ATVs, but otherwise it was remarkably quiet. We only encountered a couple of small groups at Cleveland Lake… on our hike out, which took us about 2 hours, we didn’t see another person until we reached the parking lot.
This was a fantastic and unique experience-we enjoyed our time!!!

My husband, dog, and I had a great stay! Tim supplied everything that we needed for glamping. Also, he was hospitable and informative. Tim recommended many ideas for outdoor adventures in the area. We would highly recommend this site!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Chantelle was an amazing host, super accommodating and took us on a same day reservation after our other place fell through. We stayed in one of the micro cabins facing out at a beautiful valley, with endless hills and Mountain Views in the distance. Quiet, tranquil, and just what we needed. The bed was super comfy and the cabin was clean! Super dog friendly, we brought both of our pups and they loved exploring the land (the first night). Only downside for us, which no one had any control over was the altitude. We adjusted relatively well, a bit nauseous in the beginning but just keeping hydrated helped with that a ton. Our dog however had a really hard time and was vomiting the morning after arriving. It got to the point that he was not keeping down water and we unfortunately had to leave a day early. Chantelle was so understanding and kind, even messaging me the next day to ask how he was doing (much better now). I was so sad to have to leave early and could have stayed another week easily, but my pups health had to come first. Please don’t let this dissuade you from coming and staying here, just be aware you are at a very high altitude.

2 nights at Meadow Hot Springs Glamping Cabin
Beautiful scenery and comfy cabin! The wildlife watching is unreal… especially the moose that hung around the hills behind the cabin. The cabin is cozy and very secluded. Even off grid has many supplies and comfort features for a relaxing stay. And with so many windows you can fall asleep watching the stars.

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.
The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it.
Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite.
We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway! The view is unparalleled and it's far enough away from other structures that it felt so secluded. It had enough amenities to make the stay really comfortable and was close to Staunton State Park for hiking and Conifer for groceries. We're already talking about coming back!
