There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. It is a rustic and homey vibe, definitely not a hotel. We want you to come knowing what to expect. Our property offers a pool, and trampolines for the kids. We have a deck patio area that overlooks an amazing view of the redwood forest. Most of our guests are those that come from foreign countries and they all LOVE the property. I love leaving a great impression of our area. CAMPGROUND GUIDELINES Pack out your trash. Rinse feet before using the pool. No pool toys or floaties. Always supervise kids. Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. Located on Mount Hood about an hour from Portland, Zigzag Mountain Farm is home to an organic garden, old homestead, house, yurts, and barn. 50 acres of open meadows and forest, bordering thousands of acres of national forest. The farm is home to an organic garden, campfire circle, picnic area, a city bus with a campers' kitchen, outdoor seating area with BBQ, kids play structure and hiking trails. The cabin on the property was built by the original homesteaders. Britta and Jim purchased the property in 2009. It had been vacant for a number of years. Giant slash piles scattered the land from previous logging. The house and cabin were not livable and needed major renovations. In 2019, we purchased and brought in a city bus and converted it to a campers kitchen. A year-round creek flows through the property and 3 major rivers are nearby. The Zigzag Mountain Lookout Trail leaves from the property. The property was homesteaded in the early 1900's. E. Mountain Drive was the wagon train trail into Portland, known as the Barlow Trail. Zigzag Mountain Farm offers the perfect escape from the city.

Our family had an excellent tiny cabin stay! The cabin was cozy, clean, and very comfortable. The mattresses were surprisingly comfy, making for a great night's sleep for mom and kids. The shower was solid, even with lower pressure since it uses the well water on property. The dart board was a huge hit with the kids and a fun touch for relaxing at any time of day. Overall, a fantastic little getaway—we would definitely stay here again.

The tiny home / cabin was just perfect. It was on the property of the host's house, but felt very private. Roomier than I even expected, super comfortable, and well built / insulated as there was a pretty big storm the night we stayed and nothing leaked. Well-maintained and thoughtfully done.

Graceful rolling hills. Beautiful sunsets over fields of lavender. Bird song. Bees. Bucolic setting. And so peaceful! Close to both Silver Falls State park and the quaint town of Silverton, Buena Vista is a gem! Thank you Connie, for being such a great host. I highly recommend this little oasis.

4 nights at Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Camp

Incredible, family friendly campground. The river is perfect for fishing and also perfect for young children to play in. Gorgeous, serene location with minimal mosquitoes which was a shock! Firewood is very affordable. As in VERY affordable. Porta potty is the cleanest one I have ever used in my life. I plan to go back next year with my crew as my only mistake in booking a campsite at Brooklyn Heights was not staying a few days longer.

Fern Gully is an absolutely accurate description of this woodland escape. Deep in the forest you will find a whimsically painted A-frame. Highly recommended for your journey to self reflection, practicing your bird song recognition, and reprogramming your natural circadian rhythm. There is a lake conveniently located a few miles away to get a break from the heat.

Weekend Trip to Hideout Mountain Lodge

This was a super cool cabin. Lots of attention to detail with the motif for sure. Beautiful area as well. Would stay there again. Had some difficulty with the wifi. I wasn't concerned as much, but the friend i was with figured out how to get it going. Someone not as tech-oriented might have had to call about that. One thing to note about the setup also, is that the area with the main bed is pretty tight. This didn't bother me, but I could picture someone not as flexible taking issue with this.

Buena Vista is a beautiful escape from life. The gracious hosts welcome you in and share their love for their property and animals. Beautiful sunsets, baby goats, adorable guest house, waddling sucks, lovely dogs, highland cows that love apples, bullfrogs that seem to love a good jump scare, did I mention baby goat that love to nibble and cuddle?!?!?! I'm already planning my next trip!

I needed some time away after a long busy season at work. I spent two nights at The Raven and it was a great time. The cabin had everything I needed aside from food and firewood. There were no other guests on the property so I was able to explore around (maybe for future trips?). Its a beautiful place and the view of Lake Henshaw was breathtaking. I loved my experience and look forward to visiting again!

We were in the Tiny Home and it had amazing views of the lavender and rolling hills. We had fun walking to visit the ducks, geese, donkey and LGDs. Weather did not cooperate but the heater worked perfectly.

The little tiny house was spectacular! The land and animals and lavender was so wonderful and they have a cute gift shop and eggs for sale. Will definitely be coming back. Perfect spot for the Woodburn tulip festival and Silver Falls State Park.

We couldn’t have asked for a better first Hipcamp experience than Kat and Steve’s Fox’s Hideout. It was the perfect glamping getaway and a charming, peaceful escape from city life. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth. Kat and Steve made us feel less like guests and more like family. Their thoughtfully built property is clearly a labor of love and embodies everything you’d hope for in a family-run retreat. Our kids had an absolute blast! Between the trampoline and the tree rope swing, the experience felt magical and wholesome—especially with petals gently falling from the trees as they played. Do not skip the pastry add‑on! Kat and Steve previously owned a bakery, and waking up to generous, warm cherry turnovers, and other pastries was an incredible treat. The accommodations were no frills but comfortable. Even the small details stood out, like their well water that tasted better than bottled. Located close to San Francisco, Fox Hideout is an easy, worthwhile getaway, and we fully intend to return. Kat and Steve are wonderful hosts whose property reflects the true heart and pride they put into it. Highly recommended!
