2 nights at Happy Valley Haven

The land was very beautiful, with many medicine plants growing. The directions given by Naomi made the land easy to reach. There was no reception on the land, but the wifi connection was strong enough. Over all, the place had a very peaceful and safe energy. The cabin was colorfully decorated, and became warm and cozy on the cold nights. The new kitchen installation was beautiful and very well equipped! Naomi was welcoming, and Johnny taught my girlfriend about alpacas, how to feed them, and how to boop their nose. The location was perfect for escaping to nature, but not far enough from the city to feel isolated. It was a very special and romantic experience!

Weekend Trip to Delta Respite

I had a lovely weekend on a solo trip with my dog. Ceci & Steve are so friendly, the dogs, chickens, and pot-belly pig are delightful, and the cabin is super clean and cozy! Perfect spot for rest and relaxation. I took walks at sunset, read books, watched birds, painted, and soaked in the claw foot tub! Hoping i can return in the Fall 🙂

It was a really lovely place to stay. The bedroom was cozy and had the most comfortable mattress. We didn’t use the outdoor cooking area but it has everything you need. On future trips to Santa Cruz, we would love to stay again and will make sure to bring things to prepare in the cooking area. The property was stunning and so peaceful. Naomi was very welcoming when we arrived but also gave us our space during our stay.

We stayed in the Elk Cabin, and loved it! The hosts were warm and inviting and the cabin was was warm and cozy, even though it was very chilly and windy that night. I loved the hot tub and the "outside" shower. The water was so warm, and it was a relaxing way to end the day after hiking nearby and visiting the beaches. This was a great place to unplug and just enjoy each other's company. I visited with the chickens and the bees, and I read a whole book while I was there!

this was such a cool tent. way more than i thought. it definitely is an awesome set up for 2 friends to go enjoy with their dogs. loved talking to the other campers this time and played with cute dogs. the tent was cozy and you can open the zippers to let in air flow so it didn’t get warm. i was warm at night with the comfortable bedding.

Our one yr old and us love the place! The baby learned to say bunny after petting the bunny. And she kept saying sheep sheep all day long. The hot breakfast was delicious as others said, don’t miss that! Tip: put on ear plugs in the drawer. Roosters will wake you up at 5am. Somehow baby was fine with that. Maybe natural sounds were perfect white noise for her.

We had an awesome time in the farm. My 4 year old enjoyed every moment feeding and petting the sheeps, goats, alpacas and bunnies. There were sand pits, play structures and bikes as well for the kids. Lot to play with! This place is perfect for kids who love the farm.

another great stay and i was the only camper this night. it was absolutely incredible to have the entire place to myself on a wednesday. the wagon is just so cozy and once again i slept great. nature was stirring! toads hopping all over. owls screeching and hooting a. crickets and bird song. just really love that quiet here.

What an amazing stay! This was probably my favorite stay I’ve ever had, the space was so cute and cozy and Ceci and Steve were so kind. You also can’t beat that tub! I’m solo traveling with my little dog and we both felt so comfortable and safe staying. I will never forget it ❤️

If you like to be social and have bonfire and have a nice chat with fellow campers , this is the place for you. We are committed to provide good beds and beddings because we know how important good sleep is (even when you camp!) so we just spent time, money and energy to replace all of our camping mattresses with memory foam mattresses!!! We had people swear that this is the best bed they ever slept in. The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside. We're only 11 minutes away from Mount Madonna State Park and just 10 minutes from a local healthy grocery store and yoga studio. The beautiful Pajaro Dunes coastal area is just a 15-minute drive away, and the Santa Cruz Fairground is only two minutes away. Our location is surrounded by family friendly farms such as Gizdich ranch and nurseries, hence why it's considered the salad bowl of the United States. The Santa Cruz beaches are only 15-25 minutes away, while Monterey Bay Aquarium is just 30 minutes away and Gilroy Gardens is about 25 minutes away. The wine trail is also nearby. There are plenty of activities to enjoy nearby, including horseback riding at Mount Madonna Stable, Mount Madonna Retreat Center, hiking at Mount Madonna State Park, wine tastings at various wineries with stunning views, kayaking at Elkhorn Slough or any beaches, yoga at Watsonville Yoga or onsite, swimming, scuba diving in Monterey, visiting the Hanoman temple at Mount Madonna retreat center, and attending any events at the Santa Cruz Fairground. Our self-serve farmstand attached to our barn has seasonal flowers, organic eggs, heirloom fruit, and local goods from the farm. Our property is the perfect rustic getaway for backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts. You’ll be surrounded by farm/ranch life: chickens clucking, roosters crowing, bees buzzing, and sheep bleating. We also have active nighttime wildlife: coyotes howling, raccoons foraging, owls hooting, etc. Bring earplugs if nature sounds are too much for you. The Rainbow Junction

The Rainbow Junction offers a unique camping experience at the intersection of Mines Road and HWY 130 in the San Antonio Valley. We operate a restaurant and we offer camping friendly meals for guests. We love the wildness of this property and do not allow cars or vehicles beyond the parking lot. All of our sites are hike in sites. It's about a 1/4 mile hike on a small foot path. We have a wagon available for guests to use and we are happy to help you carry your things. We host a communal fire pit in the evenings, weather permitting, for all guests to enjoy, we do not allow open fires on the property. Cal Fire has requested that all campers get a permit, even to operate a gas stove. The permit is free and takes just a few minutes. https://permit.preventwildfiresca.org/ Please pack your trash, food scraps can be place in our compost but please be prepared to take all other items with you when you leave. Our swimming pond is about a 3/4 mile hike through brush from the restaurant but is a great way to beat the heat during the day! Campsites have a picnic table. A dry toilet is a short walk from campsites and we equip sites with a water dispenser and a sealed container for trash. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours. There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events. Campers, trailers, RVs and Vans are welcome to stay in our lot but we currently do not have hookups available. Have a large group? We are happy to reserve group sites.
