You will need to come up a windy country road to get to us but it will be well worth it. Learn more about this land: Welcome to our Above the Clouds RV spot, tucked away in between Napa and Sonoma Valleys - right in the middle of wine country! This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best wineries in California! About the Property: Above the Clouds campsite is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and overlooks the Valley of the Moon with a stunning mountain view. We are just 11 miles from the city of Sonoma and only 8 miles from the Napa Valley - making both destinations really easy to get to. You can enjoy the California wineries, restaurants, and shops that you'd like! We are also ideally located near Jack London State Park - which is a really pretty and historic place to go! The opportunities for hiking around our property are endless, and definitely head to the wineries if that's of interest to you. On our property you can enjoy exploring our more-than 20 acres of land, taking the row-boat (provided by Hosts) out on our pond, hiking or just relaxing in a serene setting and watching a great variety of birds. Formerly utilized as a bed and breakfast, when we moved to the property we definitely wanted to continue sharing the land and views with guests. As hosts, we are around and enjoy getting to know the our visitors if you are up for that, otherwise we are also happy to respect total privacy. There are 3 sites next to the pond, we have one that is there all the time in the summer but those folks only come a couple of times each month. The 2 others are right next to each other near the pond. We haven't started having more than one rented at a time yet but do expect to start that soon. You may have a neighbor or 2. We hope you enjoy the beautiful sunsets and being literally above the clouds as much as we do! About the Listing: Come park your RV on our property and set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to the pond. You should expect to see us on the property, though your site is well away from the house We have minimal electrical and we do have water hookups available for your RV, we do allow generators. There is a BBQ grill that you are welcome to use for cooking some wonderful meals if you'd like! You can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table near your campsite. There is also potable water from our natural spring available onsite for guests. You can enjoy watching the birds, turkeys and deer that meander through the meadow, and feel free to roam around the property taking in the fresh outdoor air! Additional Details to Note: - Check-in is after 2pm and check-out is before 12pm - Things to bring: Everything you need to camp comfortably! We loved our two-night stay in November. Colleen and her dog Mimi were so delightful and welcoming to my family and two large woofers. The space fitted our 27 foot Airstream easily and the views were spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset when the tule fog happened to be in the valley and we floated above.

It’s eclectic! Built in the 50s, this place has that retro charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. My 20-year-old son, my soul-dog, and I spent Labor Day weekend here, and that little dipping pool was a total lifesaver in the brutal heat. We brought our trusty popup camper from the 90s (no AC—she’s a vintage gal), so we went full MacGyver with a shade cover, a napping pad, and two “box” fans. Worked like a charm for a solid nap. When we weren’t pretending to be human popsicles, we played ping pong, cornhole, and enjoyed the slower pace. Walmart, gas, and food right across the street made it super convenient. The highway is close, but it didn’t bother us at all—kind of like grown-up white noise. I’m also terrified of the dark, but here it felt just right: dark enough for an insane star show, but not so dark I thought Bigfoot was lurking. Fishing was the main reason I booked this place, and it delivered. Each site shares a ramp with one other, small but perfect for casting a line or tying up a paddle board. It’s made for relaxing. I did spot a few teenagers looking bored, but I think they were just in the “too cool for fun” stage. Lisa was wonderful—helpful, welcoming, and full of history about the place. We had no issues at all, and I’ll definitely be back!

This is a wonderful location if you are seeking tranquility. Sitting by the pond and relaxing by the pool melts all the stress away. Both Phil and Colleen were warm and gracious hosts. They were there when I needed them and not there when I didn’t. I would not hesitate to go back. Oh yea, did I mention it is dog friendly too!

Beautiful place to camp in the hills above wine country! Phil met us outside and led us to the spot, which was level for sleeping. There were chairs and a picnic table for use, and the water and electricity hook-up were great. We had dinner while watching an amazing sunset, we’d definitely stay here again!

What a great place with wonderful hosts. Very quiet with beautiful views. Lots of wildlife. Woke up to deer grazing on the property, fish in the pond, woodpeckers, hawks, finches and swallowtail butterflies. Close to many wineries and great hiking and stargazing at Sugarloaf State Park.

The host Debra went way above and beyond to make our stay delightful! She brought us fresh chicken and duck eggs. She notified us of an electrical outage in the valley in the morning, and had her sister bring us coffee from town since our electric was out. Amazing! Huge amount of space that you have access to when renting the RV. Lots of room to explore, dine outside, and run around. Gorgeous views of the valley and got to watch the fog roll in each evening. 20 min to the beach. 45 min to Napa valley. RV could use some updated mattresses, but all in all, it was a great stay!

The minute I got up the hill, her pups and peacocks welcomed me! I so adored this hipcamp! The views off from the hang out/eating area are amazing and so peaceful. It was hot, but there is a shower and it cools off in the night. The stars at night were outstanding! Her dogs were so cute and followed me everywhere!

We loved our 3 night stay at Clear Lake Campground! Lisa was the best and our space by the creek was so picturesque. Peaceful with great birdwatching, a fun little pool, catfish & bass fishing and a games area where we played ping-pong & volleyball. The restrooms were clean and the RV hookups easy. We’ll be back : )

The Meadow Grove is a wild and natural pasture with campsites located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. [When we open in the spring, the grass can be 'slippery' and it is recommended you have 4WD. Around mid-June it is dried out enough for 2WD access to all sites]. Site #1, #2, #3, and #4 have the most level areas for parking and tent-ing. Up until mid-June, we recommend #1 for 2WD access. Campervans that do not have 4WD may have trouble accessing other sites. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Located right off coastal US highway 1, Timber Cove campground sits right at the edge of breathtaking, oceanside cliffs. We also have access to the beach below, and offer beach camping as well. Take note that the road down to the beach is steep with uneven terrain. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. Property is situated at 800' above sea level (usually above the fog) across the road from the Stump Beach trailhead in Salt Point State Park - which, from our driveway, is a 2 mile hike or bike ride down to the beach. Enjoy quiet solitude of one of the most private and quiet places on the Sonoma Coast. Avoid the crowds of Salt Point, with all the basic amenities you expect. Birdwatch, play frisbee golf, hunt for mushrooms, basecamp your hikes, runs or mountain bike rides in Salt Point, or use Huckleberry Haven as the central spot to innumerable road bike rides on empty roads. The choice is yours! Special note: Huckleberry Haven is on the edge of some great wilderness! We have all sorts of wildlife sauntering by, and certainly have for decades. We recommend taking precautions to avoid interacting with curious/hungry wildlife - Don't sleep with your food in the tent, and keep camp tidy! We know there to be black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, racoons, skunks and so forth. Mountain Lions tend to avoid us, but you'll want to check on best practices to avoid bear interactions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Finley Camp. All dogs must be kept on leash at all times while on the property. There are no exceptions to this. Finley Camp is located on an active cattle ranch and directly adjacent to a neighboring ranch with cattle. Also be sure to check out our orchard tours! The apples are ripe now and our verities will continue to ripen thru late November. We'll take you to our family orchard where you can pick apples, pears, or blueberries in season and taste yummy treats out of our family garden.

The campground features 20 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations accepted. Each campsite can accommodate up to six people, making it ideal for families or groups. Please note that Reef Campground is currently a dry campground, with chemical toilets available for visitor use. Drinking water can be purchased at the Fort Ross Visitor Center, which is also the location for check-in between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Campsites are available for use starting at 1 p.m., and check-out is required by 11 a.m. Tent camping is the only option at this time, as the campground cannot accommodate trailers, campers, or RVs due to limited space and turning capabilities.
