I loved camping on Karina & Chris's land. La Escondita felt very private and was only a short walk from the (compost) toilet, water and animals. The less adventurous of my group appreciated the conventional bathroom with a shower and flush toilet, despite the longer walk. We all enjoyed the stunning views and farm stand where we purchased fresh honey. Karina and Chris were very responsive before and during the trip. I would absolutely return.

We enjoyed our time at Puri Camp! The site ended up being great for us because of the size of our tent and vehicle. Our 5yo son had a blast looking at rocks and hiking around. We loved the shade of the tree and the solar lights at night. There is another campsite nearby but we didn't hear them much. The hike up to the top of the mountain to see the sunset was absolutely beautiful and a MUST DO. I recommend taking a car that can generally handle windy/steep/bumpy roads and driving up to the bathroom/shower. It was a little hard for our 5yo.

Veronica was an amazing host. She greeted us upon arrival made sure to check on us during our two-night stay and we really enjoyed our time on her land. Getting there was pretty straightforward and the views of the stars were amazing. I could only imagine what it would be like with no moon as our moon was bright. :-) Perfect relaxation.

The views from the property were so beautiful! We spent 4th of July night laying out and watching fireworks nearby which was a real treat. My wife especially loved the very friendly cows that kept us company while we stayed here (they even greeted us at the gate as soon as we pulled in!) Highly recommend staying here for the views, peace/quiet, wildlife and very warm and welcoming hosts, Jac & Cristy :)

The close location to the millcreek beach and hiking trails was exactly what I was looking for, and my dog enjoyed roaming around/playing with Gene's dogs. 10/10 would recommend to any friend!

I highly recommend staying at Dark Star Cellars. The price was very reasonable for the accomodations. I ended up staying in site #2, but was also able to check out site #1. Site #2 is a secluded shady spot nestled in the trees. Site #1 is on an open spot on the hilltop with views of the surrounding vineyards. There are water tanks on the center of the hill, but you can still get good views from the campsites. With both sites, you'll have to walk down to the tasting room to get to the bathroom.

There is a kitchenette with a toaster oven, electric tea kettle and coffee maker. There is a charcoal Weber bbq grill and a propane gas 2 burner stove. We provided a propane fire pit during the fire ban, bring propane and charcoal etc. There is a well lit bathroom with hot shower and flushable toilet 50 yards away. Please use that shower for the casita. We have a moderate climb hiking trail down the road, Cerro Alto, that offers beautiful views of our coastline. Simply sit back and watch the the wild turkeys and deer roaming freely on our land, or head out to taste some of San Luis Obispo County award winning wines. Pack in and pack out your trash please.

The driveway is accessible for by car, truck, camper van, (Westie, or same type of camper van); tent campers are welcome too. It's not very easily accessible for very large trailers (more than 36 ft). The neighborhood is very quiet. Water, Wifi, and power are all available. There is no cleanout for sewer. The Hill Fort - Camelot

Camelot was founded on the Summer Solstice, in the year 2000, by a small group of like minded people as a peaceful refuge from the trappings and ills of society. We named our property the Twisted Branch after one of the big oak trees that sits on the site where you will camp with us! It's on a hilltop with amazing views in nearly all directions. The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season. We are located in the heart of Wine Country and there are plenty of activities around us and in town.
