At its center stands a custom-crafted Peace Pole featuring the prayer "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in over 30 languages—including the Kumeyaay language of the First Nations people who first occupied this land. Because these sites are wide-open and accommodate both tents and dry RVs, The Lake Basin is a favorite for groups who want to camp in a large, cohesive circle. We recommend groups make their reservations at the same time to ensure everyone secures a spot in this area. You are just a short walk from the Peace-Pole Labyrinth nestled under the oak trees. While the perimeter path around the lake can become rustic and overgrown during dry spells, the sense of quiet reflection here is unmatched. *Nature’s Note: The "Lake" in our Basin is a gift from the winter rains. While we can’t guarantee water levels—that’s entirely up to Mother Nature—the Basin remains a peaceful sanctuary year-round. Escape from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world and immerse yourself in nature. Delight in starry nights rather than city lights. Reconnect with the deepest part of yourself and feed your soul at Stallion Oaks Ranch where people of all ages come together to recharge, relax and rebuild their lives. A truly unique experience! At this time two of our five 16-foot yurts (Ash & Elm - see map), one of five 24-foot yurts (Dove - see map) and twenty tent-sites near the common areas, are available for camping spaces. Each of the 16-foot Yurts have three bunk beds and can sleep up to six people. No linens are provided for bunk-beds. Onsite, there are three more additional 16-foot bunk-bed yurts and five more 24-foot bunk-bed yurts (one which is handicap accessible and can sleep 10 people). There are also three 30-foot open-space yurts, one large open space Barn-Lodge Meeting Hall and a semi-commercial kitchen. Although, there is a swimming pool onsite, it is not available for rent during camping events. These additional spaces are reserved for use during special events and must be rented directly through the owners of the property, The Unity Center - San Diego, at special event pricing and have special rental restrictions and terms. Stallion Oaks Ranch is a privately owned and operated outdoor campground and retreat venue, covering 243 acres. It is backed up against the Cleveland National Forest and is located in a fairly secluded mountain-residential area. The site has multiple walking trails located on the property (including a trail-head to Pacific Crest Trail), a walk-around lake, peace-pole with full-size labyrinth under the oak trees, a man-made medicine wheel, and multiple meditation spots, along with a couple of outdoor gazebos. There is one communal campground fire-ring that can be utilized by all onsite. Fire usage will be allowed in this fire-ring only and must be approved by the site managers and local Fire Marshall, based on fire safety levels during camp-out periods. We cannot guarantee fire-ring use during your stay. Bring your own propane camp-stove (recommended) for cooking personal meals... and plenty of blankets and warm gear for evenings. The property is located just 45 minutes from downtown San Diego and several beaches and just 15 minutes away from Viejas Casino and about 30-60 minutes away from other tourist sites.

24 Foot Yurt (Site 9)

We had an amazing stay at Stallion Oaks Ranch! The property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It was the perfect place for our family to relax, unplug, and enjoy the outdoors. The campground was incredibly clean, especially the restrooms and hot showers, which were much nicer than we expected. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very helpful from check-in to check-out. Our kids had a fantastic time exploring the trails, watching wildlife, and playing in the open spaces. The nights were quiet, and the star-filled sky made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a clean, family-friendly campground with a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery, I highly recommend Stallion Oaks Ranch. We can’t wait to come back for another camping trip!

We had an amazing time -tent camping under the beautiful oak trees. Loved waking up to the song birds. Lovely property- charming little lake and serene labyrinth. Great location to nearby trails. Friendly host. Very clean bathroom with hot showers, perfect after a long hike. Will return.

The host family was super helpful and nice. Bathrooms and showers were well kept. Yurt came in clutch since we forgot our tent. You check in with them and they let you take any site that's open. The did have 1 campfire stite for everyone.

The campground was the cleanest I've ever seen, in 45 years. The bathrooms and showers were better than most hotels. Host was super helpful, and all in all just an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Very nice serene location with plenty of room to walk and see nature. The owner's came to visit with us when we pulled into the site and provided some general guidance on the location of the pond area, and other interesting sites. He also let us park in another open area since we were the only people there that night. We had a great visit with our 20' van. Pet friendly (on leash) location with plenty of sites to visit and see. Clean restrooms are facilities. Plenty of wildlife to see and stars to gaze at. We'll be back.

We had an unforgettable experience camping at Stallion Oaks Ranch! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with peaceful natural surroundings and spacious, shaded campgrounds that made setting up our tent a breeze. The hiking trails were a true highlight. We explored scenic routes leading to tranquil spots like Labyrinth Lake, which offered stunning views and peaceful moments to connect with nature. The campground was very quiet. We especially loved having time to unwind, and just enjoy each other’s company under the trees. We left feeling recharged and grateful for such a beautiful weekend in nature. We’ll definitely be back!

Friendly hosts, nice yurts, great restrooms/showers, lots of wildlife (watch for rattlers). Basic beds, good if you like firm otherwise bring extra sleeping pads, pillows, and blankets. Took us under 35min to get to the beaches.

Site 14 - Stallion Oaks Ranch ~16' Yurt

I rented two yurts at Stallion Oaks Ranch for a July family get together. The location is remote and not easy to get to a Friday afternoon, when it's peak traffic time. The ranch was peaceful and ideal for our get together. We enjoyed the hiking to the lake, the stargazing inside and outside our yurt, and a dip in the pool on a hot day. I especially enjoyed that I got no cell or internet service, forcing me to live in the moment and enjoy my family and nature. I can tell this place was something really spectacular before the big fire burned the old place down. Maybe one day the Unity Church will return it to its former glory but in the mean time it is a special place that is perfect for a rustic wedding or other special event.

It was 103 degrees F and not a lot of shade on site. The yurt itself was awesome! Unfortunately, there is not a lot to do there. A lake near by but not conducive to swimming, a labyrinth that’s fun to walk through once, but kids got bored in 15 minutes. The host family is very nice and generously let us use the pool, which we stayed all day at because of the heat and lack of anything else to do. Very dry, lots of bugs.

Site 16 - Stallion Oaks Ranch ~16' Yurt

Confusing when you first get there. No signs or check-in. Yurts are nice but can be like a Sauna during the day as they are in direct sunlight with little shade. They are old and in need of repair but provide cover at night. Doors cannot be locked. Restrooms are clean and centrally located. Grounds are natural and unkept. Trails are not maintained and Rattle snakes are present so be aware.

The site is flat and fully shaded. But not comment for tent only. Too many trailers around and they didn’t follow the quiet time policy at all. They played music and talked loudly until midnight. Even we mentioned them our kids were sleeping. They even made louder. We booked two night but leave in second morning. We can’t sleep. So sad for this experience.

Stallion Oaks Ranch - 24' Yurt

It’s was great for all ages. I enjoyed knowing the young children can run and play without to many concerns. There is tons of gophers so there is a lot of uneven terrain. The hike was great for young children and the lake was great to see. Surprisingly this morning it was 80 degrees as we packed up. Will definitely keep this spot for the future and a great place for large families.
