Address is posted at the entrance. *Smoke detector - I will be notified if there is smoking inside the townhome ($200 fine) *Minut – sound detection at high decibels – I will be notified at 85 decibels during regular hours and over 70 decibels during quiet hours. If it gets very loud you will be notified too. We cannot hear what is being said, just measured sound decibels.

This place is honestly stunning. It’s beautiful, incredibly comfortable, and has everything you could ever need. Waking up to that morning view from the bed was absolutely magical — truly unforgettable. The whole space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully put together.
The host was incredibly caring and attentive, always making sure I was okay and had everything I needed. Her kindness and quick responses made the stay even better.
Five stars aren’t enough to describe how amazing this place is. This was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, and I’m definitely coming back.

The Little Red Barn is a cozy and comfortable glamping stay located conveniently near Valley Parkway in Escondido, close to shops, restaurants, and great hiking at Elfin Forest. It’s one of three glamping structures on the property. The high ceilings and additional loft mattress make the barn feel spacious, and we appreciated the little touches like electricity, a fan, and a heater for cooler nights. The shared bathroom area was clean, modern, and had reliable hot water — a big plus!
There’s plenty of shared outdoor space with picnic tables, lounge chairs, and seating areas, making it a great place to relax. We didn’t even need to use the heater during our mid-October stay — the weather was perfect.
This spot is a great introduction to camping for those who want the outdoor feel without being too far from the city. Our pup loved exploring the space (though the $50 pet fee is a bit on the higher side). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, laid-back glamping experience close to town!

The tent is really cute and welcoming. We had little trouble locating it at first due to GPS instruction. The tent has nice and comfortable blankets and bed / couch mattress are comfortable. Overall it is great stay. However. There is only one shared bathroom & shower for 3 units (which can total up to 10 people if fully occupied).. it will be nice to have an extra bathroom.

Incredible one-night stay there. If anything, the views from the cabin are underrated. Overlooks so much gorgeousness AND got to wake up basically inside a cloud. While it was near freezing outside, stayed plenty toasty inside.
Oh, and did do the 20- to 25- minute drive to Borrego Springs for dinner and had several nice options there. Otherwise, prepared simple meals using the the propane stove and kettle. Highly recommend for a single/couple looking for a simple get-away.

This was a very cute glamping spot. Easy to find and safely nestled on the property of the owner. You can tell the owner has put their heart and soul into decorating and furnishing the site. I feel so lucky that my doggies and I found Tom's Artist's Ranch and Cricket's Cabin. I will be revisiting the place as often as I can. It's the perfect spot to get some quiet time, with nature and the spectacular mountain views inspiring positivity and creativity. Bonus points if you're artistic, as the land is full of art for you to stumble upon as you hike and explore. Tom is a gifted sculptor and ceramicist, and his work is scattered throughout the property, making each foray out on the trails feel like a treasure hunt.
Pros:
I came out to get some work done in private, and it was the perfect place to do it. I edited on my laptop from the bed while enjoying a spectacular view of the mountains and the desert.
Tom has a well-appointed AC electrical system in the cabin, so you can keep all your devices charged while you're there.
There are no other pets on the property, making it the perfect place to let your fuzzy kids explore.
The cabin is nice and warm (even in below-40-degree evening temps) due to the propane heater Tom installed.
No need to bring your backpacking stove, as there is an outdoor kitchenette outfitted with a burner and propane grill.
Tom also provides drinking water and a well-water tap faucet for washing.
There is a cute outdoor shower, too.
Almost Cons:
The location is just inaccessible enough to be cool. Make sure you put the address in the GPS - not the coordinates.
Overall it's a great place and I hope you love it!

This was an amazing experience. The tent was decorated beautifully. The tent and bathroom was really clean. The tent was roomy and had exactly what you need including a tv, minifridge and heater. The outdoor communal area was great. You can tell the host cares deeply about offering a great space. She even had games and books in the tent to keep entertained. It was a great experience waking up to birds chirping. I would 100% rebook this.

Weekend Trip to Clara Vista High Desert Retreat
We feel so lucky to experience Tom’s land and this beautiful cabin! We had such a relaxing and peaceful time taking in the views and features of the place. We especially loved hiking and climbing around the terrain that surrounds the place.

Wow, this was an amazing getaway. Tons of outdoor space with a great view and ambience, close to restaurants and Main Street but still an escape from the city, extremely clean and well stocked, but best of all was the hospitality! The hosts were extremely helpful, available for any questions, and all around great.

2 nights at Clara Vista High Desert Retreat
Crickets Cabin is pretty special. Tom is great- he was there to greet us with a tour of the cabin and a brief history of his time on the land. He is extremely friendly, kept to himself, but was available at a moment's notice if we needed anything. The cabin and porta potty were very clean, the gas heater kept us toasty, and the hot outdoor shower was such a plus. The view of the land, mountains, and big starry sky in combo with the walking trails really sets this place apart. Very highly recommend for a solo retreat or a romantic getaway!

Alina’s place was amazing! The site has great views of the valley below and is located a short commute from Stone Brewery & Restaurant, the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Safari Park. The tent was comfortable and came with a heater and Alina was a great host who made sure we had everything we needed. She prepared s’mores for the kids and all instructions were clear and easy. I would definitely recommend her place to others. It’s ideal if you’re going to the San Diego parks.
