Our property is 5 acres of flat land with a well and solar system. The house is the old FBI communications building from the 1950's with a flat roof for people to see views in all directions. The Cleveland national forest is less than a mile away and Black Mtn is in the distance stands at 4000 feet. We hike it with the Llamas and feel blessed to live in a beautiful place. We want to share this wonderful location with our community.Set up at the llama farm and see it all! Turkey's, chickens, organic veggies. Stroll along the raised beds and see how healthy fresh veggies are grown. Have a llama experience interacting with the herd and take away lifelong positive vibes. Bring your mountain bike and hiking shoes and explore the Cleveland national forest, too. It's all here for you to enjoy. Your Stout 6M Pro Bell tent has power and lighting, is furnished with a super comfy queen bed, and a full-size fold out mattress perfectly arranged for four adults. Linens are included. Additional sleeping provisions are available on request for a small fee.

Llama Camp
When we were pullimg up to the area it was very scenic and you see the llamas right away. Douglas was there with his donkey. He greeted us, and pointed us to our campsite. Gave us some time to settle in before meeting us. once settled in, he came by and gave us a grand tour of the place. introduced us to all the farm animals. and let us hang out with the llamas before heading back. Our Hut/Teepee was nicely furnished, fully working grill outside, with a full bathroom set up. ease of access to everything. our stay was a nice little getaway. they had 2 farm cats (callie & domino) that would stop by the camp throughout our trip. they wanted lots of love, as well as the goats & donkey. our last morning Douglas took us on a walk with the llamas, its like walking a really big dog. the whole experience was really amazind exactly what i needed. Douglas was an amazing host, he's created the perfect little camp. I definitely recommend choosing to stay at this llama farm.

Llama Camp
Magical glamping experience!
We can't say enough good things about this place and our spectacular host Doug! This is a wonderfully rural & rustic glamp-site that provided us both a sample of the authentic farm life experience, and some creature comforts like hot showers, a fridge w/ a freezer to store our ice cream, and two cozy beds in the dome tent. Waking up and going to greet the llamas, chickens, ducks, and turkeys after making our morning coffees was such a special way to start the day. This spot is also conveniently located just a couple minutes outside of downtown Ramona, and not far from some amazing hiking. At less than an hour from San Diego, this place is a must for anyone who wants a break from the city + a breath of fresh countryside air. We LOVED it and will definitely be back!

weekend away on a farm
Our family loved staying at Douglas's farm! It had everything we needed for a getaway with a toddler - a bed, hot shower, indoor toilet and a BBQ set up with all necessities. We did not have to bring our usual camping gear with us with an exception of sleeping bags. Most importantly, we could hang out with llamas, hens, turkeys, an occasional gopher and some squirrels. It was fun and educational. Douglas and Michelle were so down to earth, welcoming and ready to show around their farm. When we got home, next morning our daughter asked us to call Douglas, when asked why, she said she wanted to tell him that she loved him :) It was really great to get away from the city and reconnect to nature, and when you want - a winery is just around the corner.

The tent was amazing. I am normally very cold at night during springtime weather, but I stayed warm in bed. The accommodations were GREAT. Doug was very friendly.

Awesome stay!!
Please keep in mind Doug's place is a working farm but what a COOL working farm it is!! We arrived later than expected due to traffic but Doug met us anyway to go over a few quick things. He had already told us he had a commitment in the morning but said he could give us a tour of the farm at 8am or again at 10:30am. In fact, we got two tours with the second one being an opportunity to walk the llamas. Doug told us he sometimes takes them to weddings for the bride and groom to hold and walk them (for a price) but we got to do it for free and in fact Doug kept telling us it was so great we were doing him and the llamas a service by letting them be with different people. The accommodations were fun in a big tent with loads of space. His new bathroom shed was superb with a warm shower. The outdoor kitchen area was well stocked - fun to cook outside. I would strongly recommend to travelers from afar (we're from Vermont) or from California city dwellers who want to escape for a day or two.

Llama Camp
We had an amazing stay on this llama farm with Douglas and his wife Michelle. They also have chickens and turkeys and a wealth of knowledge to share about farming. The amenities were more than we were expecting which was a nice glamping treat. The canvas tent is enormous and the bed was more comfortable than ours at home. Our kids set up their own tent as well as hammocks under the amazing shade canopy. Even though daytime temps were over 90 degrees there was morning / evening shade and a lovely breeze, it never felt too hot. We spent the day at Julian which is a short drive and a super fun town for food, desserts, and shopping. When the weather is cooler Anza Borrego State Park is close for hiking and exploring, as is William Heise County Park and Lake Cuyamaca. The llamas were super sweet and fun to watch, and Douglas made sure we were able to interact with them. He also provided corn hole and a fire pit which kept us happy after dark. We highly recommend a stay if you're looking for something unique!
