I've always loved camping, but as a 60+ year old woman, the days of roughing it in the wilderness are behind me. I still love being close to nature, lightning campfires, listening to owls hooting at night, letting my dogs roam freely in the wide open, while still being able to sleep in a comfortable bed. Tom and Stacy provided us with exactly what we were looking for. Their spacious RV has a wonderful master bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. There's a shower, flushable toilet, a kitchen with a microwave and gas stove, hot water, air conditioning, an outdoor fire pit, a gas grill, and the place is stocked with cooking, dining, and cleaning supplies. There's even a TV and Wi-Fi, although we opted to play board games under the solar-powered lights outside instead. Tom and Stacy were very accommodating and responsive. I'll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely amazing 5 stars. Tom is a gracious host giving you snacks, water, tv, wifi, bbq, and so much more. He goes above and beyond to make you're camping trip the best one and stress free. Also, his communication was great whether you have a question about the trip or when you are there. It also was completely peaceful, nobody around. 10 out of 10 for my weekend getaway. Will definitely be coming back.

This place and its host was awesome and perfectly tailored to our needs! The property was private, gorgeous, and well stocked with more than what we needed. Thank god they paved that road too because I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it in my new sedan. Beautiful views day and night, clean lodging, and pur super accomodating host made this the perfect get away. The games and firewood provided was just the cherry on top. Thanks for getting us in on such short notice!!

Beautiful get-away! This is certainly a wonderful break from the city at a mountainous location, close to San Diego. You don't need a 4x4 to get up the dirt/gravel road.
Tom and Stacy were very hospitable. They left plenty of firewood for the fire pit, snacks and water, towels/washclothes, paper towels and toilet paper, board games, wifi, tv, soap, dishes, plus plenty of extra bedding and sleeping bags, trash bags. The area is fenced in but we warned of poison oak/ivy if we ventured far from the paths and mowed areas. There really aren't hiking trails leading directly from the glamping area, except there a wonderful steep dirt road we walked up many times which rewards an amazing view. Make sure to test the hot water heater beforehand. Also, the water is supplied from an on-site spring well so it's wonderful and plentiful.
The only things we would bring to stay again would be binoculars (many birds to see), aluminum foil plus cooking oil to make cooking/warming food on the fire pit easier (there is also a propane grill outside. We did forget our dog's throwing stick but found the area small enough to just throw the ball and let is roll down the steep hill (our labrador absolutely loved staying here and Tom and Stacy were very friendly to her staying as well).

This is my 2nd time at this hipcamp and once again it was very impressive. Mr Tom and his wife made a few upgrades such as more lightings around the trailer which is very useful at night and the roof that provided more shades. It was my parent’s first time camping and they had a blast! Very family friendly hipcamp that provided that secluded getaway. You must check it out!

Such a gem! Family of 4 (2 teens) and a dog and we had a great time! The accomodations were fantastic. Greeted by the hosts upon arrival and completely private after that. Beautiful views, peace and quiet -exactly what we were looking for.
Tom really goes above and beyond to make the stay comfy and inviting. Kids loved the snacks and we loved the wood on site. Comfy beds! Even the kids mentioned that. :) The trailor was outfitted with everything needed - I actually overpacked in all honesty. We enjoyed the area - daytrip to Anza Borrego for off roading and a day of fishing at Lake Henshaw. We loved our family time and looking forward to returning. Thank you!

We had an amazing stay at this Hipcamp and couldn’t recommend it more. The host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and responsive, which made the whole experience smooth from start to finish.
The property itself is very well maintained and thoughtfully set up. You can tell a lot of care goes into keeping everything clean, organized, and comfortable for guests. The views were absolutely stunning, perfect for relaxing, enjoying a quiet morning coffee, or winding down at sunset.
We also really appreciated how peaceful and private the site felt. Another highlight was how dog-friendly the property is. Our dogs felt completely welcome and comfortable, with plenty of space to explore safely. It made the trip even more enjoyable knowing we could bring them along and not worry.
Overall, it was a great experience. If you’re looking for a private, scenic, welcoming, and dog-friendly place to stay with a fantastic host, this is definitely a spot worth booking. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had a fantastic stay at Oak Arch Acres. The property is beautifully maintained and offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding and getting away from the usual rush. The surroundings are calm and scenic, making it easy to enjoy quiet mornings and restful evenings.
The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and clearly care a lot about the experience they provide.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

Tom and his wife were very welcoming and friendly! The RV is stocked with plenty of cooking utensils, coffee, tea, water, etc. and they were so sweet in sharing fresh lemons and oranges with me. My dog had a blast exploring the fenced in property (he’s a beagle, so he loved it) and we had a wonderful evening by the campfire. We will definitely be back again!!! Thank you!

Fantastic amenities and a gracious host are all included in this simple, secluded getaway pad w/ a large fire pit, plenty of space, and a bench with a view. Plenty of lighting at night and “off-leash/recall trained” pet friendly (for jumpers, id say the property fencing is not tall enough for escape artists lol)… Tom keeps his things in great condition, complete with two plasma tvs, wifi, and a bed that’s uber comfy! We also enjoyed having the option to grill (as well as utilize a stovetop indoors), microwave/kettle, and of course hot showers are always a plus. Will definitely return!

What a gem! Mr Tom’s land is the perfect weekend getaway. A place situated in the beautiful Santa Ysabel with a close proximity to Lake Henshaw, Warner Springs and Julian, all within driving distance to each other. Josie’s Hideout is a motorcycle saloon and stopped by for some beer and delicious Nachos. It was only aboutn 10min drive to the hipcamp. Mr Tom’s land is huge and fenced so our Labrador Scout was able to roam around freely. There is a nice bench overlooking the valley and mountains and we witness a beautiful sunrise. The trailer was everything we needed, a kitchen with all the amenities and they even added some fresh fruits, snacks and hot cocoa. The living room was spacious and although we didnt use the TV it was still a cool perks. The bathroom was clean and with a flush toilet, so happy for that. It also has showers if you need it and it came with hot water. The bed was great and it fits two people. We had a firepit and watch as the stars put on a show for us that night. This place is amazing and I highly suggest you go and have an experience.

Super nice host with a very family/pet friendly location, pulled out all the possible amenities and is super responsive and trustworthy! right above Josie’s hideout if you like to ride and enjoy a beer by a beautiful lake! Very beautiful views, I have a special needs child this was his first time camping and he loved it! All fenced in so we felt safe and secure
