Weekend Trip to Camp Arroyo Grande

Cute little cabins, hot hot hot showers and a very laid-back vibe. Only cons are the cabins very limited and easily overwhelmed power supply and outlets. Power fell out a couple of times and luckily we figured it out quickly or it would have really affected our trip. Nights have been in the 40's, so I'd bring extra warm blankets if you plan on staying in summer weather.

Weekend Trip to Rancho Rio Del Sol: Paso Robles, CA

Our weekend stay at the Dream Catcher Vintage Trailer was excellent! All the amenities were perfect for a couple of boondockers looking for a more luxurious and peaceful stay while exploring Paso Robles and Highway 1. The trailer is a great size for 2 humans and a dog and provides enough space to hunker down and relax even when it is drizzling a little bit. Outdoor tub is AWESOME; easy to fill and the cast iron tub keeps the water hot for so long. Everything, property, trailer, shower/bathroom is super clean and well taken care of, and we experienced zero issues during the 2 day visit. Highly recommend for anyone who's looking for a unique trailer camping experience, without the boring, modern RV style and a beautiful property to relax on.

Camp AG was beautiful and peaceful. We camped in the cabins with our 6 dogs and they absolutely loved it.

This beautiful site has comfortable beds and clean facilities at great budget-friendly nightly rates. It's also a short drive to stores and beautiful sightseeing spots along the central coast, such as Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, and Cambria. We had a great family trip!

Weekend Trip to Historical Almond Springs!

My husband and I loved our night here and wished we had booked it for 2 nights. We stayed in one of the cabins which was perfect for us and our 2 dogs ( a Great Dane and a JRT/ Chi. mix). We played pool and darts in the game room. We walked around exploring. Met some of the family, who were welcoming and friendly. They asked if I wanted to go feed some baby goats, and of course I jumped at the offer and it was the highlight of my stay. We definitely want to go back again, but for at least a 2 nights stay. 🙂

A very comfortable and clean place to land after a few days in the backcountry. The hot shower was great, picnic area was nice, and I felt very comfortable there. Thanks!

Weekend Trip to Camp Arroyo Grande

Easy walk from the little downtown area, nice communal fire pit, we got a level spot with a picnic table, I hiked to the top of the hill with my kid and it was a very easy hike and a nice view. Very very pleasant for a brief overnight visit on our way down to SoCal.

We loved our stay at Dana’s ranch! We camped there for two nights and had a wonderful experience. Dana was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. The property has beautiful, private trails perfect for quick hikes. We would absolutely recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful, sparkly clean, spacious cabins. Restrooms are clean. Showers are great. In the middle of town but feels secluded. We slept so well - beds are comfortable, we felt safe. Neighbors were respectful of quiet hours. Zero complaints! We will definitely return.

The sweetest cottage with gorgeous views. We only had 1 night here but would love to spend more time. The coach house was well equipped and very comfortable. Surrounding property and nature were beautiful.

1 night at Camp Arroyo Grande

The cabin was perfect for a quick overnight. All we brought were our sleeping bags and pillows. It was a great evening. I especially liked the secondary cooking fire pit that made it easy to make some dinner upon our arrival. There was even a small stack of firewood. For the price, you can’t beat it!

1 night at Vinyl Vineyards

Nice spot! We pitched a tent in site 10. Appreciated the well-maintained dirt/DG roads and pads, the site furniture, ample trashcans, and nice restrooms. Sunset Hill was a beautiful place to take in the golden hour. Our 2 young girls rode bikes throughout the campground and enjoyed looking at the airstream units. I caught 6 deer in the early morning, grazing near the site! Didn’t use the communal kitchen/bbq area, but looked well-equipped. Will definitely look to return and have already recommended it to family who likes to visit the area - especially for the airstream glamping setup.

We loved camping at the Hazel Homestead! Our host was incredibly sweet and welcoming and the site itself was beautiful and exactly as advertised. We will definitely be booking again soon!

Weekend Trip to Coyote Mynt Ranch, Paso Robles

We stayed in a charming recently renovated Airstream trailer located in a clearing in the low forest of the coastal range. Local wild life was abundant and dramatic ranging from ground squirrels and woodpeckers to deer and a red tail hawk. Mid April in the low 80s was pleasant~much lower starts to get “prepare for it” cold at night. Just north of loads of wineries. Expect tasting fees with 2-3 ~$60 bottle minimum purchases and you should have a good time. Lots to do in Paso Robles, just ask around.

Weekend Trip to Dare 2 Dream Farms

Great stay! Comfy trailer in a beautiful valley. The farm feels safe, secluded & peaceful. Pictures do not do it justice. We heard owls at night and saw turkeys, milking cows, horses. We had a great campfire and just looked at the stars. Wish we’d had time to hike around. People were incredibly kind. Definitely recommend, definitely will return.

This three story wonder will leave you inspired to step into your own story. Fully equipped with a small kitchen, queen bed, reading nook and two beautiful outdoor decks, you'll feel like you stepped into another world. The Main Bungalow is a 1970's GEM, built by a movie industry icon with views of the valley through the stunning and huge five windows overlooking the Salinas River. Two bedrooms downstairs and two full baths, accompany a well appointed kitchen. The upstairs loft accommodates two additional semi private queen beds, and additional seating area. See Canyon itself is a special place. Home to a multitude of birds and wildlife, a beautiful scenic winding road, lush landscaping and a host of apple orchards. Thanks to the micro climate we have here, we grow some of the best fruit in the country. The coastal canyon is just a short distance to the beach and 15 minutes into town but feels like a world away when you are here. The star gazing is incredible as the canyon walls block the light pollution and the milky way shines! Welcome to our little slice of 10 acre heaven in the Canyon! Just bring yourself and we have everything else!! Nestle up in the Cozy Gnome Home, a 1967 vintage trailer and listen to the symphony of frogs in the creek just outside your window. With love and labor... we gutted, redesigned and restored this little trailer for the ultimate functioning space for two. Nice little kitchen with copper counters and everything you need for cooking and dining. A Berkey filter for clean water, hardwood floors and a comfy bed complete with organic mattress, down comforter and cotton sheets. Fold out dining table if you care to (or need to) eat indoors. There is also an outdoor kitchen space with a sink (no hot water), gas grill, propane burner (bring your own small canister) and a patio table and chairs. We have a charcoal grill available too. The creek runs mostly year round so feel free to get your feet wet on a hot sunny day. We also have an outdoor warm shower and sink as well as a hot water kitchen sink that you can share with other campers. You are welcome to cruise the property and check out the chickens, ducks and horses. We have three dogs on the ranch, a deaf and incredibly sweet pitbull ( he is a food thief so store food and garbage as though raccoons were a problem), a curious and playful ranch dog Pluto (who will be your tour guide) and a Boston Bulldogge, Astrid. We are surrounded by orchards which have some of the best apples and pears in the country. Seasonally you can stop by many apple markets and do a tasting. We also have a lively wine tasting venue less than a mile away. Avila Beach is a short 4 miles away and we are happy to share bikes if we have them available but can't guarantee any. Our location is a bikers' dream as the 13 mile scenic road takes you all the way into SLO. NOTE: If you want to bring others to camp, please note that they need to bring their own tents and supplies, we only have room for two but welcome self sufficient campers to join you :) also, we have a camp stove you can use to cook on but bring your own little green propane canister.

The ranch is also located a short 29 min drive from the Carrizo Plain National Monument and Las Padres National Forest. Tule elk, prog horn antelope, and valley quail are just some of the animals you may encounter on our ranch. The pond is full of fish (bass, blue gill & sun perch) so don’t forget your fishing poles (catch & release). -We have beautiful 2 stall hot water showers, and three stall restroom including handicap stall. **Cleaned & Sanitized DAILY Our communal kitchen has : a large gas bbq grill, 3 smaller gas grills as well as gas burners & sink. **Cleaned & Sanitized DAILY. There are several counter high prepping tables around the kitchen (please clean up your cooking essentials & food after each meal as everyone shares this space). Campfires - We are an ember free site year round due to wildfire risks & insurance purposes. We do however have propane fire pit rentals for $20 per night. - great for roasting s’mores & the ambience of camping. Please do not cook any meals on them. All cooking is to be done in the communal kitchen area. The summer days can get pretty toasty and the winter nights can get very chilly so check the weather before your stay and plan accordingly. Don’t forget your swim suits as we have soaking troughs for you to cool off in. -Also please note we are located an hour from the nearest town, no stores or gas stations. Please come fully equipped with your own utensils, cooking essentials, food and beverages. We sell ICE!! $5 per 5lb bag. We are off grid, there is no electricity, all lights are battery or solar powered. You may want a flashlight or headlamp for walking around at night. Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.
