Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy. PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance. FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. He will provide instructions. TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Please let us know prior to arrival if you are interested in a scheduled tasting during your stay! We can provide a tasting if we have the proper staff during your visit. Our products are available for purchase, with or without a tasting. We recommend you bring cash if you are interested. We also take Venmo! Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 150+ foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. We loved our stay at Three Pines, Very convenient, inexpensive cabins right in the heart of Boulder Bay, just down the street from Boulder Bay Park and the lake. Just a 15 or 20 minute walk to Big Bear central district, restaurants and activities. Our cabin had a very comfortable bed, cute accommodating kitchen, and a modernized bathroom with excellent hot water and rainfall shower head. The owners were very kind to us on booking, as they were new to the online system, and Hipcamp accidentally double booked, but the owners made room for us on an upgraded cabin at no cost. This made our 3 nights in Big Bear special for me and my daughter. Thank you Three Pines Cabins!

It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet. DIRECTIONS: Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210 Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side. There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it. Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork. Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left. Learn more about this land: The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else. No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.
