This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The bigger building is an Airbnb for groups. They will also have access to the lake.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210
Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles
Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd
Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side.
There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it.
Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork.
Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left.

The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else.
No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.

DISCLAIMER: This is quite different from staying in an ordinary hotel. We are really in NATURE here - these are older cottages hand-built by artists in the forest. They are very rustic! It's like living in a mountain village, with other cottages nearby. While we work very hard to keep our places pristine and spotless - if anyone in your group will faint if they see a bug or lizard or little frog inside - then this probably isn't the place for you. Please be very careful booking cottages for someone else - like your parents just arriving from another continent - they might prefer something more conventional.
Some folks describe our places as a luxurious form of camping. We make our cottages very comfortable - they have all the basics - electricity - wifi - most have kitchens, bath or shower and comfy clean beds. But they are not like a hotel with perfect walls and a sterile atmosphere. Please look at all the pictures and read all the reviews. We can't offer refunds just because we don't meet the standards of a normal hotel. Most people are charmed by this idyllic and bohemian lifestyle - but it's not for everyone.

We were so happy to find this gem! The listing was exactly as described. Al was super sweet and welcoming, the place was immaculate, private, and the AC worked perfectly during the recent heatwave. This place had it all! Alittle less than an hour outside of town but completely in nature! We ended up walking around and exploring for about an hour and still didn’t see all of the property. Brian was awesome and left us with water and an ice chest! Propane stove with pots and pans, designated fire pits, toilet out house.

Weekend Trip to Harmony Heaven Campyard
Tam was a wonderful host. The experience could not have been better. We brought our 6 year old and there was a gorgeous pool, a firepit for smores, even farm animals in a little secluded area ( no smell either!) Did I mention the koi pond? Or the hot shower and flushing toilet? This is definately glamping! We stayed in the safari tent which was super comfortable bedding and stayed warm. It is a small area inside tent with a support pole in the middle (for us, as a family of 3) We were there alone but there are 2 other cute little campers surrounding the firepit so you may have a group camp experience but each area has its own picnic set up. We hiked Etiwanda Falls at daylight and overall the whole experience was truly magical. We will book again!

The property is cute- bustling with other guests coming and going at all hours in the evening and morning! I definitely didn’t feel like I was all alone out there-
It wasn’t clear where the bathroom was, but then I found it around out back- shower was warm! It wasn’t clear whether it was shared or not(?)- I would’ve taken a quick rinse if I thought other people would be waiting for their morning shower. I did see a woman in a towel walking toward the bathroom. Super fun for someone accustomed to communal living, I’d go back 🙂

I grew up in Malibu but have lived in LA for the past 15 years. As a widow and mom of a recently adult 20-year-old, I’m in a season of transition and reset. Staying in Topanga felt like coming home to myself. 🌿
After staying in the Hacienda Suite, I loved the property enough to extend my stay another two weeks in the beautiful Mermaid Suite. These cabins are unique, charming and truly “glamping” Topanga-style. I loved the workspace, and when my son visited, the comfortable loft gave him his own space.
The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and toaster oven, although the toaster oven was unfortunately too dirty to use. There is one sink, located in the bathroom, and no dish rack. Glamping tip: bring/use a towel for drying dishes so you can separate them from toiletries. The Hacienda next door has a more traditional kitchenette setup.
My biggest concern was arriving to find another guest in my room—and in my bed! A true Goldilocks moment. The host responded immediately and had the sheets changed, but the other guest was angry and yelling, which was unsettling. This beautiful property would greatly benefit from an on-site manager or better monitoring of arrivals and departures.
Despite that experience, the housewife on-site was incredibly kind and checked on me. I woke to roosters, canyon air and quiet mornings—and during my stay, I started writing a book.
This little Topanga oasis became part of my reset, and for that I’m truly grateful. ✨

I was looking for a quiet place to relax and reset and this tiny cabin was perfect! I particularly loved having my morning coffee on the deck and listening to the ravens, red-tailed hawks, peacocks, and occasional whinny from the neighboring horse stables - it was peaceful and such a nice change from the sounds of the city only a few minutes away. Araceli is a wonderful host and made sure I knew my way around the features of the camp! I will definitely keep this in mind for if I need another LA-area staycation or if I need to recommend a great retreat to any of my friends.

What a cool spot for a camping getaway close to the city! Gordon was a great host and has put together a really great retreat with a super comfortable hobbit lodge:) I was really comfortable and loved all of the touches in place, including a separate cooking station, an outdoor shower, and a well appointed room that had AC, lots of good books, and total peace and quiet. The cabin is downhill from the host's home and you are very secluded down a hill away from everything. I took a long 7+mile hike straight from the property and was the only hiker around for miles. Tam’s campground is a true unexpected gem! It’s close to all the dining and shopping you would need, but also very close to some incredible hikes near Mt Baldy! The views from the backyard are incredible, and it feels very private. The fruit trees and animals added to the peaceful atmosphere, you don’t feel like you’re in the suburbs at all!
The campground itself is very well equipped and cozy, and Tam is a great host who went above and beyond to make us comfortable. There is not much else like this in the area, and this was truly one of the best values I’ve ever gotten in this app. Highly recommend!
