Wildlife is part of the experience here, so please stash your food at night to keep critters out of camp. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Cabin 5 is the largest of our cabins with a queen and bunked twins. It’s also taller than the others.

Weekend Trip to Finnon Lake Recreation Area

We had an amazing time camping at Finnon Lake! We tent camped with our two dogs and couldn’t have asked for a better spot—our site was very close to the water, which made the whole stay super relaxing. Waking up to the lake just a few steps away was perfect. The campground was clean, peaceful, and easy to get around. Our dogs had plenty of space to enjoy without feeling crowded, and the whole area just felt really dog-friendly and laid back. The scenery was beautiful, and being so close to the water made it easy to fish, relax, or just enjoy the view. Overall, it was exactly the kind of quiet, nature-filled getaway we were hoping for. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Me and my husband David really like camping but we get tired of building the tent so I thank Sarah for letting us stayed in her trailer with her free range animals. Feel so away from the stress and keep silent for a while. See you next time.

4 nights at Finnon Lake Recreation Area

It's a nice place with beautiful views. The campsites are pretty close together, with many being both RV and car sites. It's not a recipe for a quiet environment, but that's really not expected in these type of campgrounds. I saw several families there, and everyone was having fun (responsibly) and a good time was had by all. The bathroom was clean, as were the campsites. Wildlife was nice in the way of ducks, geese, and very vocal (as always) blue jays. Plenty of woodpeckers as well. My only wildlife complaint might be they have a pretty serious issue with moles tearing up the sites, but it's nothing a fox or coyote couldn't fix.

Really loved staying here, the tiny cabin was clean and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable winter stay. The outhouse was clean and the firewood was provided. Location is relatively close to downtown which was also nice

I had an incredible stay at this riverfront camp. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, clean, and right on the water. Michael, the host, was extremely hospitable and kind. You can tell he truly cares about the land and the people who come to enjoy it. Waking up to the sound of the Trinity and being able to step out and swing flies right from camp was unreal. I managed to bring a few nice steelhead to the net without ever having to leave the property. If you’re a fisherman, this place is gold. If you’re a family looking for a quiet place to relax, swim, explore, and enjoy the outdoors, it’s perfect for you too. Highly recommend. I’ll be back.

Amazing scenery, well kept, and the drive was breathtaking. If you’re not good with narrow roads and tight turns, I would suggest look at the maps before you make your choice. I loved it tho!
