Really great spot to camp. We went with a group of 6 and had plenty of space. Michel was super kind and a great host. He gave a great recommendation for a swimming hole about a 15 min drive. The winery onsite was great. The flush toilets and potable water were a little further from the campsites than I expected but the port-o-potties next to the sites were very clean and there was handwashing water next to every one. Would definitely return!

The sites themselves are spacious, peaceful, and thoughtfully laid out—perfect for tents and car camping. But what really sets this place apart is the cool art scattered throughout the grounds. The whimsical sculptures blend perfectly with the natural setting, making it feel like you're camping inside an outdoor gallery. The service was truly top-notch. Michel (our host) was warm, welcoming, and eager to help. He clearly cares about making sure every guest has a great experience. Perfect location as it was just minutes from Murphys and Angels Camp and a short drive to White Pine Lake. The sculpture garden is unlike anything else—eccentric in the best way, with larger-than-life installations like the 100-foot Sacred Circle, the surreal Glass Henge, and a Stone Stage that feels like it came out of a dream. Every corner offers a new surprise—whether it’s a Chain Henge or a hidden art piece tucked into the trees. We couldn’t stop exploring. Each campsite is its own private gallery—our spot near the steel teepee and a shady oak that kept things cool and tranquil. There’s just something magical about waking up surrounded by both art and nature. What really put it over the top? The wine tasting at Brice Station’s charming tasting room, and the live music concert under the stars. It was the perfect mix of rustic and refined—great wine, amazing vibes, and a backdrop that’s hard to beat. This place is full of soul, art, and joy. Whether you're camping, wandering the sculpture paths, or enjoying a concert with a glass of red in hand, Sierra Circles is a must-visit. We’re already planning our return.

4 nights at Ascension Ranch

This site was amazing!! The walk to the bathroom isn’t half bad (and the bathroom was extremely clean!!), it was pretty secluded and not far from the lake! Will definitely be coming back to this amazing place! Super cool to see the animals and give them a few treats and bonus points for the sweet ranch dog Kyro!

Weekend Trip to Cosumnes River Somerset Camp

We had sites 4 and 5 which were both amazing and right on the river. 4 was definitely more private and set off by it self a bit. Both sites had shade somewhere within the sites throughout the day. Noleen's communication was excellent and her response time was immediate which was helpful when our battery died and we needed a jump to get out of the campground. They came right down, gave us a jump and were super nice about it and not annoyed at all :). Thank you so much for the help and for being nice and accommodating. BTW, they eggs were excellent!

1 night at Camp 🏕 Gold Dust Vineyard

Beautiful location, extremely quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to kick back in a hammock with a book. Easy to locate, can park right by the campsite, and the tent is quite comfortable. There are a lot of wineries tucked away here but make sure you do a wine tasting with Aaron -- he's making really great and interesting natural wines and ciders that take advantage of the unique location. There are some absolutely gorgeous rivers nearby so if you're visiting in the symmer, make time to take a dip in the Columnes. We really enjoyed our brief stay.

We camped here with six kids under the age of 8, and it was truly magical. The site was clean, well-organized, and super easy to settle into. The artistic installations throughout the property were so unique and fun to explore—like a treasure hunt for all ages. The communal kitchen and showers were functional and convenient, and I have to give a big shoutout to the porta potties—easily the cleanest I’ve seen at any campsite. We loved that it was a quick walk to the winery, where we got to enjoy wine tasting and a summer concert with food trucks—so much fun. The location is also close to town, lakes, hiking, and beautiful big trees, yet still quiet and peaceful at night with respectful campers all around. Best of all, the host was amazing and went out of their way to take the kids on a morning art adventure, which made their whole trip. A truly special place we can’t wait to return to!

This is the best campsite I've ever been to. So unique and spiritually invigorating. My husband and pup came during the summer solstice, and it was absolutely wonderful. All the art installations are a feast for the eyes and mind. Michael is very friendly and told us about on-site events, so we got even more out of the experience. We stayed at site six with the burning man bikes. It was lovely to sit out on the swing in the mornings and evenings. It's also a short distance from a pet-friendly lake. I plan to come back with some friends in the future!

Weekend Trip to Ascension Ranch

Wow this place is breathtaking. Incredible views, an hour away from civilization and some very welcoming and friendly staff. We took advantage of the trails, lake swimming and general camping fun. The crew also brought over their horses for us to pet and one night their guard dog came over to enjoy our company and get some ear scratches. Sadly there was a fire ban, so no campfire. Must know: -the directions sent are so detailed. Follow them and you shouldn’t get lost (like we did). We also found a hand painted sign by the restrooms that had a helpful map of each campsite. -plan your bathroom trips. Yea there is a flush toilet. But it was a bit of a walk from our site (3-5 minute) and there was only one toilet since the second had an out of order sign. -double check supplies and gear because you are pretty far from stores/gas stations. We learned later the crew offers trail rides with the horses, there are geese, rabbits, chickens, dogs, cat, the whole McDonald song to check out, and really friendly people that work here. Every interaction started and ended with huge smiles and they were so helpful. Oh!! And most importantly, they were SO fast with digital questions. Within 5 minutes there was a detailed and clear answer to any and every question we had before and during our trip. If you come here, you won’t regret it and we cannot wait for our next trip here!

Absolutely loved this campsite! Loved hanging out on the water all day and being able to explore the grounds with my hubby and son. The portable potty was super clean and only shared with one other site. We met one of the hosts, Tom, who was super friendly and gave us a map to explore more. We will definitely be back!

We had such a great time camping in our site. The port a potties were so clean and the handwashing station was wonderful plus to camping. We set up our campsite and strolled over for the music that night live at Brice Station. The other sites near us looked so interesting and were spread out enough to allow privacy amongst guests while also offering a communal area if that is what you seek. Michel came over to ensure we got settled in and we had an amazing chat with him. The space is unique and wonderful. We will be back!!

It was also home to a former nun who quit the dominican order to purchase this land for inner city kids to have a chance to ride, swim, hike and fish. We moved here in 2017 and purchased this land with the main goal to raise our large family here, but we have found that good things must be shared! There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork cosumnes river. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites (can be rented separately). The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe - bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins. Tent sites each have a wood table (bring your camp chairs) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins (litererally 200' away!). It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk. We ask campers to use our property only for land use and river access, NO up or down river access is permitted AT ALL. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

Couple that with the inspiration of Thoreau's lines and life at the real Walden Pond, the ranch has grown to nearly 300 acres and the small ranch pond has grown to a 5-acre lake with a 3-acre forest and home. Scouts, family and church groups use the site for gatherings. Available are canoes, bonfire, and exploring the ranch's 300-head cattle, llamas, poultry and wildlife. Fires always allowed at fire ring. Pitch your tent in a forest setting alongside a lake on a working cattle ranch. Watch wildlife or hike to smaller lakes on the ranch. Other animals include dogs, llamas, geese, chickens, and horses. The ranch is within a 20 minute drive to either Stockton or Lodi, CA and is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and pastures. Today, Brice station hosts a ceramics gallery and school, vineyard and tasting room, Blacksmith school, Concert series, Shakespeare performances and Master artist, Michel Olson's, Sierra Circles Sculpture Garden and campground. Born in Berlin, Germany, he has spent much of his life performing, guiding, studying, while travelling and becoming an accomplished artist in wood, stone and iron. Two of his gypsy rigs and several large art installations, are in the meadow next to the forested 6 site campground. Installation include, 100 ft sacred circle, yin/yang, sun dial and calendar. Fishing offers trout, catfish, big and small mouth bass or perch. Visitors can also see the Folsom Powerhouse (once called "the greatest operative electrical plant on the American continent"), which from 1885 to 1952 produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents. For cyclists, there is a 32-mile long bicycle path at Beals Point that connects Folsom Lake with many Sacramento County parks before reaching Old Sacramento. The park also includes Lake Natoma, downstream from Folsom Lake, which is popular for crew races, sailing, kayaking and other aquatic sports. At both locations, you will stay in 16ft deluxe tents. Each tent has 2 full beds in them. At Beals Point we offer "Luxury" Glamping with real furniture, cozy bedding, and all the amenities you need for a relaxing and fun filled stay for up to 8 people (AT BEALS POINT ONLY!).
