Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Trailers must be self contained.  We have tiny rooster, Little John, 17 hens and a mini schnauzer. Fresh eggs are always available during your stay. We’re 2.5 miles from city limits. Close enough to stores and restaurants but far enough away for a quiet stay. We have lots of local winery’s within 20 minutes, hot air ballooning and an abundance of lakes within a few hours. Also the American River is another nearby beauty worth exploring. There is so much nature and beauty around our area. Frolic (property name) is a wild place with nature running the show. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

There is lots of room to walk or run around. A Treehouse is available for kids to play in, a trampoline to jump on, plus we have a 17 foot high swing for kids and adults alike! You can walk the property to observe the horses, or sign up for a special horse, tractor, or welding experience. Come camp in a very quiet and safe horse and farming area. We are near the end of a dead-end road. Our camping sites are somewhat private, some with more shade and others with more mid-day sun. We specialize in "Horse Experiences" tailored to your level of comfort and needs. None of the horse experiences listed on our site require any prior experience with horses. We will make sure you are safe and comfortable while working with the horses. *NOTE: Experiences are not available on Sundays (our sabbath day). We can fit them in on Saturday afternoon/evening for Saturday-night campers, or Monday morning for Sunday-night campers. We have a private bathroom with flush toilet and sink. Summertime brings hot days and (usually) cool nights to our area. It is not uncommon to experience 100 degree days in June, July and August. Most evenings cool down, thanks to the Delta Breeze, to around 60-70 degrees overnight. Wintertime brings cooler daytime temps (50-60 degrees) and colder night temps (30-40 degrees). We are located about 10 minutes from the Galt area, which has a large variety of Fast-food, as well as several nicer restaurants. There is also a Wal-Mart (with groceries) and a nice Supermarket. We are about 6 miles from 2 country stores in Herald and Wilton (with gas station). Sites accommodate up to 6 people, and you can add up to 2 more for an additional fee. If you need more than 8 people, then consider booking 2 or more sites. With horses and the activities we do with them, dogs are not allowed.

We loved staying on the farm with all of the rescued animals. We even got to feed them. Our kids loved petting the animals and spending time on the farm. Host Shanna was very welcoming and kind. She even provided us firewood and helped with some electrical issues with our RV. Beautiful sanctuary farm away from the hustle and bustle! We are already looking forward to a return visit in the near future :)

What an amazing place to stay! We did a spontaneous honeymoon getaway trip right after our wedding (no plans just spontaneous decision making) so we decided on staying at the foxes getaway and it did not disappoint. The apple turnovers are to DIE for and the house was adorable. We did have our two little doxies with us and they loved being able to graze the yard. The cute little town of galt was nearby and we explored the area (great ice cream). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to stay and the couple who lives there was welcoming as well as kind. I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. Tips for those who want to visit: fridge space is small so be considerate of that and it’s a tiny home so don’t bring too much luggage.

I am writing this review to warn everyone that there is no longer a tent/yurt set up at Lovers Creek. When I asked the man about it, he said that a guest had brought the tent it wasn't included in the site, which is a lie if you look at all the reviews and pics there used to be a tent that stayed on the wooden platform. Luckily I brought my tent just in case so we didn't need to leave. The road getting onto his property is very narrow and beautiful and I wouldn't have been comfortable taking my car, I was glad to have a truck. The restroom is down at the "entrance" and a 10 min walk to the Lovers Creek site. We took the truck each time. There were cute animals to see on the property. Roads are very dusty! The best part about this place and the main reason I might come back is for the privacy. After check in, no one bothered us and the nearest campsite maybe 500 feet away across the other side.

This was a perfect camping spot for my overnights in the area - it was safe, good directions, clean, quiet (except for the sweet roosters and nearby train, which were not bothersome at all!) and pleasant with a nice sunrise view. It was an added bonus to have access to a real toilet with running water. I myself was super happy to be the only one there and to be able to walk my dogs about and to not have to share the (large) open space with anyone else! I would stay here again (and plan to if possible) in a heartbeat.

We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. If you are interested in the experience it requires advanced noticed as well as an extra charge for wood, cleaning, and tending. She is a labor of love, and such a unique experience. Jones Bar Farm is a quiet little seven acre hobby farm at the end of the paved section of Jones Bar Rd in Nevada City, CA. We have 4 alpacas and about a dozen chickens, who free-range all over the farm. The farm is perched near the edge of the South Yuba River canyon at about 2100 ft elevation. We are "above the fog, and below the snow (usually)." Summers are hot and dry here. Daytime temps in July and August are typically in the 90s, and night time temps are in the 70s. Spring and Fall are our favorite seasons. There is, however, potable water, and the campsites are easy to access and relatively flat. Past our property, the unpaved, and very rough, section of Jones Bar Rd continues down into the South Yuba River canyon for about 2 miles, to a lovely swimming hole. Bicycling and hiking are very popular activities in this area. If you are bringing your dog with you on your travels, you will want to be aware of the many unpleasant sticker weeds that are prevalent everywhere around here. Foxtails, filaree, and hitch-hiker weeds will all find their way into your dog’s fur. The farm is about 6 miles from both Nevada City and Grass Valley. Both towns have lively and interesting down-towns with good shopping and restaurants.

You'll have access to filtered drinking water from a hose and spigot, along with breathtaking mountain views and almost complete privacy, as vehicle traffic is minimal, limited to ours and our neighbors', which is set back from the pasture but partially visible. This space can accommodate a maximum of 15 vehicles, with an option for overflow parking for larger parties. This is the perfect spot to host a private group camp where you can enjoy nature while being close to town. This is NOT the place to throw your alcohol fueled party or bring any sort of guns. We are about 7 minutes South of Middletown proper. We do have neighbors so noise is acceptable until 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends. There is a large fenced dog park specifically for the dogs to be able to run safely! Location: Our location is a 12 min straight shot off the Hwy 50 exit. We are a stones throw from Folsom Lake. 12 mins to Sweetwater Creek Trail parking lot, Acorn Creek Trail parking, Skunk Hallow Trail head. 15 mins to Granite Bay Recreation Area and walking trails. We are a 5 min drive to restaurants, gas station (diesel #2 available) and shopping. Perfect stop for bike packers headed towards Pilot Hill. Things to do in the area: Bike the American river bike trail which is 32 mi long, explore Folsom Lake by stand-up paddle board or swimming from the many entry points within minutes of the property. There are MILES of hiking trails within minutes, explore historic downtown Folsom, go wine tasting at the 20+ local wineries, pick fresh fruit and vegetables at the local farms. White water rafting in Lotus/ Coloma is only 25 mins away. Granite Bay state beach is 15 mins.

Located in the Capay Valley near Cache Creek Casino, Full Belly Farm, Taber Ranch and other event venues, we offer a quiet getaway full of stars, wild life and farm animals. Our 55 acre ranch features cattle, sheep, ducks and chickens, as well as 2 small fruit orchards. Several popular access sites for Cache Creek recreation (rafting, floating) are within a 5 minute drive. We also are very close to popular off road recreation access via the Ridge Trail (County Rd 41) as well as horseback trails such as Cowboy Camp. However, we can only accommodate one or two UTV/Horse trailers at a time, as our parking is limited. We offer several accommodation options that can be combined to fit larger groups. We welcome wedding guests! Nopal Artist Studio An open concept light filled artist and musician studio featuring a pullout sofa, a large sofa in a nook, and floor space for additional camping mats. Has a full kitchen, refrigerator, stove and access to washer and dryer. En suite bathroom features a clawfoot tub. TV and DVD player, internet access. Cabin 1 Features a full size bed and a twin size bed. Perfect for parents with one or two children. Cabin 2 Features a queen size bed and small loft. (Very small, but we have had teens sleep up there because it was fun!) Both cabins have a small plug in heater, and a window AC for the hot hours. Wifi reception is limited. The cabins have a indoor/outdoor bathroom with a sink and toilet and a small kitchenette featuring coffee and tea setup, hotplate and mini fridge. You also have access to the outdoor picnic area under the fig tree which has a BBQ, picnic table and sink for rinsing dishes. There is no indoor shower, but we do have a rustic outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Tent space We have a small orchard in front of the Nopal Studio. There is room for two tent sites. No camp fires are allowed in the orchard. If it is winter time, we do have a fire ring in the fig tree picnic area, as well as a propane BBQ. The bathroom is shared with the cabins. We have farm animals and dogs which can be loud. The dogs chase squirrels and bark maniacally, and the ducks quack at sunrise, like, lots! There are also spiders, wasps, bees, rattlesnakes etc!! Please be aware, this is the country!

With 900 feet elevation change throughout the land makes for very dramatic views but makes for an exerting 30min hike down the canyon so not appropriate for people with low mobility. Come prepared for a rugged but exclusive experience. When it's to busy at the Bridgeport state parks, keep going 2 miles and come here. This really is a Yuba lover's Shangri-La. Stay in one of our 3 teak wood Bali huts, bring your Sprinter van or pitch a tent in one our our numerous scattered camping spots by the big meadow. This is dry camping so bring water and your kitchen. A porta party is provided near the yurt. Be mindful of poison oak and please dive 10mph on the gravel road to keep dust down for my neighbors and enjoy the only privets south yuba river access in Hipcamp responsibly. Pack out what you lack in and absolutely no open fire on the property. Propane grill are fine. If you’re adventurous minded this doesn’t disappoint.

We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. You'll be next to a beautiful vineyard and can walk a short way up the hill to "View Forever Lane" and...well...view forever! We have goats on the property. All are friendly, in a goat kind of way. No, they don't do yoga! We moved here about 12 years ago and have welcomed others on the land since we arrived. We also have a few dog runs and are building a doggie obstacle course we use for dog training. Keep your eye out as our land develops. We are also located right next door to a vineyard that, after a short walk, allows views of the entire Sierra Foothills to the Mountains and down to the valley.
