Surrounded by a 140-acre privately owned nature preserve on two sides, you'll relish in abundant wildlife sightings and the serenity of nature, away from the crowds. You'll have access to filtered drinking water from a hose and spigot, along with breathtaking mountain views and almost complete privacy, as vehicle traffic is minimal, limited to ours and our neighbors', which is set back from the pasture but partially visible. This space can accommodate a maximum of 15 vehicles, with an option for overflow parking for larger parties. This is the perfect spot to host a private group camp where you can enjoy nature while being close to town. This is NOT the place to throw your alcohol fueled party or bring any sort of guns. We are about 7 minutes South of Middletown proper. We do have neighbors so noise is acceptable until 9pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends. We provide compost, recycling, and trash options, and it's ESSENTIAL to use the correct receptacle. Please note that our portion of the property is home to horses, dogs, and chickens, which you will briefly pass through before entering your fully fenced pasture. Stax & Summer’s Off-Grid Haven Fourteen acres of raw land in the foothills near Brownsville/Oregon House — solar well, oak and manzanita trees, and a bunch of mellow animals. I’ve lived here for over a decade, mostly off-grid, and the land is still unfolding. There are a couple of donkeys, some goats, a small flock of chickens and quail, two super-chill dogs (Stax and Summer Grass), and a cat named Mike. All friendly, all part of the rhythm. If you’re cool with animals, you’ll love it. If you’re not, this probably isn’t the spot for you. You can park your trailer, post up in your rig, or camp under the trees. Bring what you need and make yourself at home. There’s space to be left alone, make some art, dig in the dirt, fix a few things, or just sit with it. If you’re solid and grounded, we can talk trade — especially if I’m off the property and need someone to keep an eye on the crew. It could turn into something longer, or it could just be a stop along your way. The water is good, and solar runs the well. There are no power plugs unless you’ve got your own setup. Cell service is spotty unless you know where to stand. No tweakers. No drama — and not the fake kind.

We have lived on the farm now for over 21 years. The back part of the property was a stop point for the stage line between Oroville and Bangor during the 1880, Then gold was discovered on the property. There were multiple Gold claims on this property. The Old rock pilings are still there to explore. It is a favorite spot for finding Jasper, some Agates and quartz. Campers are welcome year-round to this tent site on the old Gold Claim of our 20-acre family farm! Drive right up to this fun-filled, family-friendly campsite, easily accessible by cars and SUVs alike - though 4WD is helpful during the rainy season. This site features two seasonal streams that cross on the property, as well as bushes full of ripe blackberries - if you catch them at the right time, help yourself. You'll enjoy hearing the birds echoing through the trees and could easily see deer tip toeing through the woods. Dogs on leash only. We raise 4H and FFA show and market goats, llamas, and a donkey and a cow, all of whom are very friendly! You'll also see our chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guinea hens. Rock pilings are on the island between the two seasonal streams that cross our land. Gold panning, hiking and creek walking is available on the property. Campers are welcome to stargaze in the field, create scavenger hunts for the kids, or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquility. The streams dry up in late June and fill up in November when the rains start. Trank Family Farm is 30 minutes from Lake Oroville, 20 minutes from Oroville Wildlife Area and the Feather River - great for kayaking, swimming, and fishing! Be sure to check out the trails and seasonal waterfalls at Table Mountain, 35 minutes away. There are 2 Indian Casinos & Hotels in Oroville, as well as 2 golf ranges - and all with in 20 minutes of the camp site. The college town of Chico is about 30 minutes outside of Oroville. If you want to explore farther, Butte Mountain range and the city of Paradise, CA is 45 minutes away. We can't wait for you to come visit!

This was the most fun quick getaway for our families! Exactly as described, beautifully maintained property, incredible hosts. High end blankets and towels, very clean dry flush toilet, and so many cozy seating options. My kids loved the welcome shed, and there were too many thoughtful personal touches to mention. The location is incredible. we explored grass Valley and Nevada city, both had a great selection of well appointed shops and restaurants and were less than a 15 minute drive from the property. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

The staff were very helpful and polite. I only wish they would mention on their website they no longer provide fire rings. You will have to bring your own if you want to have a fire. The pool was clean and everyone seemed happy to be there. Note to self. We will make sure to place our RV the farthest point possible away from the road. We could hear cars whizzing by at night.

We enjoyed our time at the camp. Robert was really awesome with showing us to the camp site and making sure we had everything we needed. The animals were so sweet. Be careful driving on the gravel roads if you have a low vehicle. The speed limit is 15, but in our Prius we went probably 5 mph.

There are so many small details that made a big difference: toys and treats for the dogs, paddleboards for everyone to play and lounge on, sunscreen and towels, a very comfortable bed and senior dog approved dog beds, the list goes on! It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer weekend and we can't wait to come back to this little paradise on the creek.

We camped at Canyon Creek for a relaxing little getaway. The setting was peaceful, and the small on-site store was a nice surprise we even found these fun, colorful drinks that added fun vibes. We were a bit disappointed that the hot tub was out of service, since that was one of the main reasons we booked. The pool was a nice backup, though it could use a debris catcher to keep it cleaner. The Wi-Fi worked for basic browsing, but not for streaming. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and would go back just better prepared next time.

This is perfect for a weekend getaway with your dogs and the hosts have everything perfectly setup for you. Just bring food/drinks (+ personal items) and doubt you would need much else. The electric grill has grill/smoke/bake/reheat/etc functions which offer a wide range of easy meal options. Or make it really easy and go to some of the nearby restaurants, options range from fine dining to burgers. Berries grow along the creek (would be great for pancakes!) where we spent most of our day. Fun and relaxing little spot with all entertainment you and your pup could need. Enjoy floating and splashing in the creek, lawn games or just sitting by the propane fire pit. We had a great time with my elderly dog playing and napping. Access to the bathroom is in host's garage, so you are basically in their back yard, but they gave us our privacy and every detail was thought of. There is also a little road noise so if you are looking for silence and solitude this may not be the place you're looking for. We didn't mind and much appreciated everything that was provided making our stay easy and relaxing!

The campsite is good. I’m grateful we had access to the pool, the creek is right next to the campsite, which is amazing if you like to sleep with water sounds. There is just one table, and one water access (hose) for all the campsites. I think that the price is okay just because it has the pool, otherwise is a bit expensive. They mention they will improve the campsites in the next month. I’ll be happy to go back.

I hesitant to write such a public glowing review, because I secretly want to keep this gem all to myself. However, this place is the absolute BEST, and you would be remiss if you didn’t check it out! The creek is flowing all year round, which means you don’t have to worry about any toxic algae (I big concern of mine). They have paddle boards and a kayak and several dog docks, all setup and ready for your enjoyment. The upgraded tent is huge and it has a real bed with a nice mattress. Waking up to the sounds of the creek is so peaceful. There are toys everywhere and lots of room for your dog to play and roam. Plus, you’re within 1/2 an hour of great hiking trails and swimming spots. This was my second time staying here and I can’t wait to return! 100000% recommend.

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

Our property is lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. To see correct pricing, enter your dates as they can fluctuate with holidays, weekends. Prices are decreased midweek.
