The oldest along its tracks. You also have the option of booking an excursion on the Railbikes which leave from both Willits or Fort Bragg and use the same train tracks. If your driving to Fort Bragg you will want to go to Glass Beach on the coast and check out the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens or do a Scavenger Hunt. There is also the Coast Redwood growing in Montgomery Woods State Park to our south having what was thought for a long time to be the tallest known tree in the world at close to 365 feet tall. It stands 5 stories higher than the Statue of Liberty. In the town of Willits there a myriad of options. Eclectic shopping at Mazahan or Earths Treasures or classics at The GOOD Shoppe or Art in the Plaza. Gateway games offers weekly card and board game competitions or go visit Ridgewood Ranch, the final home of the legendary Racehorse Seabiscuit. If camping , hiking and relaxing just isn't enough to fill your day there is golf available in Brooktrails and Mendocino County is home to ten different appellations of wine with over 25% dedicated to organic and sustainable farming. Primal Lands at OZ Family Farm is set in the Rocktree Valley just East of Willits. We are a working family farm about 15 minutes, from the town center. The camp sites are in a private pasture with views of snow capped mountains in the winter and a beautiful moon rising above the tree tops in the summer. There are two streams that the campsites are located next to. one seasonal and one year round. This peaceful valley is home to an extensive amount of wildlife. It hosts both wild pigs and turkeys as well as deer, bobcats, foxes, rabbits and an occasional mountain lion or bear have veen spotted. You should bring your binoculars because the valley is lined with acres upon acres of forests and wooded hills that are home to an incredible variety of birds and tree species. We hope our primal land will help expose people to the diverse flora and fauna around them and help educate them to the need to protect the diversity in people, places and our planet. All of which bring an important piece of the puzzle to the table and hold keys to our past and future. We hope to be able to have the honor of hosting many different groups that can gather here on this land for learning, teaching and cummuning with the nature that flourishes here. There is an abundance of things to do in and around Willits. It can be your cozy get away to rest, read a book next to the sounds of the stream or hike and ride a bike or a horse down our dirt roads. The Skunk Train in town can take you on a trip through through the Redwood Forest and Noyo River Canyon towards Fort Bragg. It stops along its route to see the Wolf Tree Redwood. The oldest along its tracks. You also have the option of booking an excursion on the Railbikes which leave from both Willits or Fort Bragg and use the same train tracks. If your driving to Fort Bragg you will want to go to Glass Beach on the coast and check out the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens or do a Scavenger Hunt. There is also the Coast Redwood growing in Montgomery Woods State Park to our south having what was thought for a long time to be the tallest known tree in the world at close to 365 feet tall. It stands 5 stories higher than the Statue of Liberty. In the town of Willits there a myriad of options. Eclectic shopping at Mazahan or Earths Treasures or classics at The GOOD Shoppe or Art in the Plaza. Gateway games offers weekly card and board game competitions or go visit Ridgewood Ranch, the final home of the legendary Racehorse Seabiscuit. If camping , hiking and relaxing just isn't enough to fill your day there is golf available in Brooktrails and Mendocino County is home to ten different appellations of wine with over 25% dedicated to organic and sustainable farming. Upcoming Events: April 8: Come sit by the fire for the Total Eclipse of the sun June 28: starts the beginnig of Frontier Days. Camp with us and be just 15 minutes away from the week long event with Jr Rodeo qualifiers for Las Vegas Jr World Championships, Pro Rodeo and concerts and Ranch Broncs and Bull. We have a seperate pasture that can accomodate horse trailers and camp sites with nearly a half mile excercise trail. You will need to text from Willits for us to meet you upon arrival. We have a campervan, but the tent platform overlooking the creek looked great. The fire pit had a rake, a shovel, and a fire extinguisher, which is great if you are new to campfires. After a week in the bustle of Carmel and Carmel Valley we needed a quiet place to stay going north. A three plus hour drive to the ranch was enough. Having a perfect place to camp by ourselves and not having to deal with anyone was ideal. A few cows came up the fence and checked us out. The night was dark and very quiet and being treated as a capable adults and taking care of ourselves was ideal. Will definitely stay there again.

Peaceful spot, easy driving instructions and responsive host. Well groomed campsite areas (creekside 1/2) felt safe and comfortable. My cell service was spotty and needed to travel about 5-10min out to get all services available but that’s ok, it’s camping. The view of the stars and moon were clear, the fire pit and toilet were very nice to have. The care taker was pleasant and accommodating

Loved camping in the redwood groves! We had a large group and the hosts were super accommodating to help us get the right setup for our party. A couple of things to note: 1 - the redwood grove campsites ABSOLUTELY require a 4WD or AWD. there is a very bumping/steep road that descends down into the meadow. 2 - the creekside campsites are essentially just parking areas for an RV. we were so lucky that the creek was low so we were able to cross by foot and enjoy the rest of the property on the other side. 3 - don't skip the redwood walking trails on the property!! super beautiful and green area. lots of banana slugs and newts to spot. bonus activity: spot the laurel bay leaf trees! 4 - there is a LOT of poison ivy around the creekside camping sites. make sure your party knows what it looks like, bring cortisone as backup, and do your best to avoid brushing against the edge of the campsite! (worst case, soap and water will help)

Weekend Trip to The Meadow Grove of Hands Full Farm

Site 4 of the Meadow Grove is the best site in terms of location, view and privacy. It's up and over a knoll and backs up against a bigger hill. The new picnic table is great and there is a little tree to pitch tents under. Green, lush grass abounds. The site did get some traffic noise from the main road further away on a Saturday night but otherwise was a very nice experience.

Only 3 sites on the property, but each is spaced so you are not too close to the other. I was able to walk among the fruit trees and check out the sites. I liked it so much that I stayed an extra day. Can't wait to come again in the spring. Joseph was cutting branches, so I was able to meet him, and the dogs came to greet us as well! Very relaxed and friendly environment. Thank you for everything you do to make a nice stay.

Second night some other campers arrived but I did not even notice them until the next morning. Nice space a privacy between sites. Composting toilet was immaculate. Already recommended to friends!
