The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended. A shared cooking area, has been cleared, providing use of the propane gas grill (campers must supply own 1 lb green canister), standard size cooler, small fire extinguisher, and carved or cut seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet with a small 5 gallon black solar shower bag, shower toga, toilet paper, glass wash basin and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled daily- or more frequently, if needed, all located in a pallet wood stall. Harbison Canyon is surrounded by rocky peaks, with a CREEK! We have multiple species of song birds, owls, hawks, and other wildlife that live in this Riparian Habitat. There is a chorus of frogs throughout the spring nights, and crickets year round! It's a very short walk to the neighborhood park- equipped with several types of playground equipment and public creek access, or a five minute drive to a Crestridge Ecological Reserve containing multiple trails. We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available. In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer! Today there are just a few bees in the area.

San Diego county has wine tasting, breweries, theaters and eateries of all kinds. There are several beaches, mountain lakes, and even the deserts! You can skydive, or scuba dive, go deep sea fishing, or lake fishing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, or walking the boardwalk! SAN DIEGO CANYON CREEK is a SMALL PATCH of WOODS, NEAR a ROAD, in a NEIGHBORHOOD. In the midst of the trees we have a great view of the stars at night. Harbison Canyon is surrounded by rocky peaks, with a CREEK! We have multiple species of song birds, owls, hawks, and other wildlife that live in this Riparian Habitat. There is a chorus of frogs throughout the spring nights, and crickets year round! It's a very short walk to the neighborhood park- equipped with several types of playground equipment and public creek access, or a five minute drive to a Crestridge Ecological Reserve containing multiple trails. We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available. In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements. Fun Fact: Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer! Today there are just a few bees in the area.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at Harrison Serenity Ranch. From the moment we arrived, Vicki welcomed us with so much kindness and made us feel right at home. The property is absolutely beautiful — the views are unbelievable, especially at sunset, and the whole place has a peaceful, secluded vibe that’s perfect for getting away from everything. We also loved meeting the resident pig, who was surprisingly friendly and made the stay even more memorable! The campground was clean, quiet, and thoughtfully set up, and you can tell the hosts genuinely care about the land and the experience they provide. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing, unique getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

I have stayed in the communal area twice in the last 6 months with a large group of women and both times it was wonderful. Since my visit in June they have added two more flushing toilets to this area and a FANTASTIC outdoor shower with hot water. We hiked the campground and there is such a great variety of options for all kinds of camping. I would say if you are in a HUGE rig, you might be white knuckling it on the drive in, but once you are here, its simply glorious. Beautiful sunsets, fabulous views and the staff is FANTASTIC!! I can't wait to go back

Went as part of a group at the Oak Grove which was set under large oak trees and was nice and shaded. Lots of land to take walks and explore. Met the goats a few times as they roam free through the property. Bathrooms with flush toilets are clean and unique hot showers also. My sty was beginning of November. Not too cold not too hot. Enjoyed the stay!

Very cool property, beautiful San Diego Mountain scenery. I walked the property several times with my dog and she got to meet some goats and a nice Great Pyrenees. Checked out some other empty camp sites that I would want to rent next time for multiple days. The hilltop one looked awesome and there another hill too structure you can drive/walk to. Definitely will come back. Nice granite on the property. Makes it feel like Joshua tree with out the drive

Manzanita Hill Homestead, an early 20th century structure is under going a revival to modern homestead and community space. The surrounding woodlands are receiving some TLC focusing on forest health and wildfire prevention. Our family has owned this property for nearly fifty years. We currently have one site available - “Desert Mountain Scenic Overlook” - at this time. More sites coming soon! Learn more about this site: This campsite is extremely private and serene with beautiful epic views and a wide open feel. The site is located most of the way up a small mountain but at the base of a larger one if you want to hike up to the top for even better views. You can also hike down and around to explore more of the surrounding nature preserve (over 3,000 acres completely engulfing our 20 acre property), which includes a seasonal creek, granite boulders, and miles of hiking trails. You will find wild sage and buckwheat shrubs growing all over the property, as well as vibrant seasonal wildflowers. The campsite is set far back from roads so it is very peaceful and quiet and allows you to feel free to enjoy yourselves without worrying much about noise. The large flat pad is spacious and should be able to accommodate any sized camper/trailer/RV. There is fresh potable mountain spring water and a septic hookup available at the site. There is currently no water hookup for RV’s and there is no restroom facility (we are planning to install a composting or pit toilet soon). Please come fully equipped with a Luggable Loo or something similar. Access to the site is on a maintained dirt road with cutouts for water run off. 4WD is not necessary. Please be prepared though, the road in has some narrow, hilly, curvy stretches. It could appear challenging or intimidating to people with larger rigs. If you have a class A motorhome and are hoping to visit, please message me first and let me know and we can discuss whether the road in will work for you. We are currently in the process of beautifying the area and will post more updated photos soon of the actual site. *Note: Our solar pump went out so the outdoor shower is not currently functional. Also, the site is still a work in progress so there may be some lumber and areas of the site still in the process of being completed.
