This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! Near artsy, coastal towns. Wonderful location for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring beaches and forests.. In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming, rustic, Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay.
Outside wood campfires are allowed unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Hot showers are available 15 minutes away with purchase of a day pass and quarters. The owners and their dog live on site about 50 yards away. You may see us doing our walks. Centrally located. 10 minutes from beaches, rivers, state parks, Stornetta Lands National Monument, and towns, i.e., Gualala, Point Arena, or Anchor Bay.

WE WILL HAPPILY RETURN! LOVED the privacy and beauty of this special site. We brought our own teardrop camping trailer and enjoyed this amazing site complete with the worlds cleanest compost toilet. Seeing, hearing, and smelling the change of the incredible outdoor space of the campsite. Looking forward to next time already.

Everything is set for you to enjoy your stay. Really loved the details ! Thoughtful setting of spigot for doing your dishes & drying on an extra table, charming perfect size camping table with extra benches, cozy romantic chairs & fire pit. Restroom right there, very clean. Quiet & private, despite the host lives nearby, we really appreciate the tall trees, the proximity of the ocean, about 11 miles. We even saw the whales going South at Point Arena. Definitely recommend this place.

Private, peaceful and accessible! Great site with great amenities (toilet, running water, fire pit and wonderful view). My 3 friends and I (along with 3 doggos) had a fabulous time at this site enjoying the weather, scenery, and each other’s company. Bring some firewood, enjoy the cool weather and mystical morning fog, and kick back for a good time.

We LOVED our time at the Pickle Barrel campsite! Beautiful spot up on a ridge and the composting toilet was very clean. The host was friendly and checked in with us. We spent a whole day just relaxing at the campsite, which was perfect after weeks on the road/trail. We would absolutely stay here again!

Very pleasant spot. In the redwoods up above the coastal fog. You get the spot to yourself. The owner's house is about 50 yards away but with the cabin and trees it still felt private. Toilet works and doesn't smell. Nice little nature trail around the property. Hose for extinguishing your fire is a nice touch.

Everything on the site was thoughtful and well maintained. We got know little bit of history of barrel and inside cabin.

Host was very responsive and accommodating to a last minute request to stay in the cabin. I'm so glad we did! It was cozy and much larger than expected! The fireplace kept us warm all night and the bed was so comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here and I hope to again in the future!

Absolutely beautiful site! G was responsive and accommodating, the compost toilet was the nicest non-flush toilet I've used, and the site was quiet and safe. The only thing is the rig size. The listing says under 25', but mine is 21' and honestly I couldn't fathom making bigger work. I'm quite experienced and have gotten mine into and out of some tight spaces, but this was one of the few times in our trip where my passenger had to get out and help me. But if you're in a standard size vehicle this camp is sublime!

Such a nice secluded site for our family. The extra lights around the bathroom were perfect our after dark arrival. The kids loved exploring and running on the small trail nearby. There are showers at Anchor Cove campground 10mins away and a grocery store.

We enjoyed our stay and the views were beautiful. Lots of trees and overlooking the canyon. Having water around and the toilet, which was clean, was very convenient. We tent camped but the cabin looked very cute. The host was very responsive, kind and accommodating. I recommend coming in the daytime as the roads are dark. Also, we made a very big mistake of missing the gate keypad coming in late at night and thought the gate was already unlocked and pushed it. Ended up cracking the motorized gate’s casing. The host came quickly to help and accepted our apologies and work with us on resolving it in a professional manner. She was so kind about it and wanted us to continue to enjoy our stay regardless. We felt bad about continuing to stay but the campsite was very peaceful and relaxing.
