PLEASE NOTE: This property is about 20 minutes from the Monte Vista address listed, located in a beautiful part of the San Juan Valley on the Alamosa River. For more info and pics, see Air B and B listings. A large cabin is also available, plus a 5th wheeler and additional campsites. A “bunkhouse” cabin should be finished by August 1st. Great news! We now have gun ranges available for our guests. There is a pistol range, 100 and 200 yard targeting ranges. We also have a long range with targets from 300-800 yards. Longer targets up to 2000 yards by special arrangement. Address and direction provided after booking.

Beautiful Camp Site. Absolutely gorgeous mornings. Within walking distance of the ranch. Glenn is a great host and very hospitable. Beautiful red rock formations that are an easy hike from the site. 3miles up the road is is the Rio Grande National forest and Terrace reservoir . Which provides beautiful views, hiking, and four wheeling.
As you drive out to the site you’ll start to wonder if it’s going to be worth the trip but the ranch is down in a canyon and kind of comes out of no where. It really does look like an Oasis in a midwestern desert.
The Ranch is also a 45 minute drive to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Which is very much worth a trip.
Was just what I was looking for. A private spot on the beautiful Alamosa River. Quiet and open but with a fantastic host in the ranch house nearby. Pitched my tent with my dog, built a fire and relaxed. Did some driving and hiking around to the Alamosa Reservoir and even did some rifle target practice with the host-who has a firing range on the property. Brought my fishing gear and threw a few casts in the river also. Worth the trip and cost to fish private water. Ideal for your dog if he/she likes to romp and play with other dogs. The host has two Lab mixes and my Lab had the time of her life in he woods and water. I'll definitely be back again.
